Quote: An English librarian called Evelyn Carnahan ( Rachel Weisz) becomes interested in starting an archaeological dig at the ancient city of Hamunaptra. He gains the help of Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser), after saving him from his death. What Evelyn, her brother Jonathan (John Hannah) and Rick is unaware of if that another group of explorers are interested in the same dig. Unfortunatly for everyone, this group ends up unveiling a curse which has risen the dead High Priest Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo). Now 'The Mummy' is awake and it's going to take a lot more than guns to send him back from where he came from. The cast also returns in the movie's sequeal "The Mummy Returns" which I thought was also a great film.

The new one is very pretty, but the plot and dialog were terrible.

NecHocNecIllud The new one is very pretty, but the plot and dialog were terrible. Agreed. It had a Indiana Jones feel to it in my opinion. The Yetis were awesome I thought. I wanted to huggle one-lol. ^_^

i just watched the first oen again after a long while. I adore the first 2 smile
the third was dissapointing because Evie wasn't the same, the son had miraculously gained and american accent and turned into an arsehold (rather than the great character he was as a child) and nothing gelled as well as a reuslt.
in theory the story was refreshing as it was in china, and the effects very good, but it seemed like they were throwing all eggs into one basket and hoping to make an omlette rather than just a smashed goo.

I agree. Why make the son so annoying every scene with him in dragged?
