Ardia stood with both front hooves in the slow flowing river, cooling them after returning to the Village from visiting with her granddaughter, Atsila. She smiled to herself, shaking her legs as she stepped back out of the water, happy that she'd finally gotten to see at least one small branch of the ever growing family tree.
If she could only share the news with someone though. Neither Adrienne nor Meena seemed to be in the area (and she wasn't even sure that either of them would too pleased to know that their sister had been so blessed in that regards), and the one Soquili she wished to tell still wasn't around.
'Sheridan..' she said his name again, looking at her reflection. Where was he?

Sheridan stepped his legs up high as he pranced lightly through the grass. The dancing soul within him could not be tamed for long and often escaped. His large hooves left little indents in the dewy grass he he danced along the medow path on the way back to the village. He had done well lately and stayed relativly close to the village where his love had chosen to spend alot of her time.
Though he had wanted to return to the mountains where his soul had pulled him long ago. One day he hoped he could take Ardia there and show her the wonders of the wilds away from the two leggers.
The Large chocolate stallion flicked his tail behind him and with a shake of his head removed the ebony locks from over his eyes. He smiled as he saw his love in the distance and lightly nickered to get her attention. "Did I hear my name love?"

'I don't know, did you?' Ardia whirled to face Sheridan, so many emotions rolling through her all at once. Angry, frustration, joy and longing.
'I called your name so often, I looked for you everywhere I could think of. I begun to think you'd left me for another.' she accused the stallion, a rare sullen expression on her face. It cleared again as her nose wrinkled up, her voice catching in her throat.
'Sheridan,' she rushed to his side, pressing her nose against his neck to inhale his once more familiar scent. 'I missed you so much.'

He watched as she turned to face him. That mask of anger and frusteration washing over her fine and genetle features. He immidately regretted what he had done, such a simple thing to go into the mountains. Time always seemed to slip away from him. He sighed a little and he lowered his head shamefully. He had caused her more pain and anger than he had ever intended to.
"Im so sorry my love." he whispered into her silken mane. The feel of her warmth pressed against him only made his heart ache stronger. Im sorry... how many times had those words graced his lips. "I missed you too." it was all he could manage to say. His poetic nature fleeting him as he felt her nuzzle in against him. How could he be so cruel.

Was his apology enough? Maybe it wouldn't have been for some other mare but Ardia could never hold a grudge for very long, and especially not against her Sheridan..if he was still truly hers. No! She had to believe his words, and his actions.
'I'm glad..to see you again. Why were you gone so long? I started to look for you, then I got cross..or I was worried that I'd find you with someone else and I just couldn't have taken that.' she squirrelled in closer against him.
'Please don't leave me again, my old heart can't take the sorrow..'
