-- RP Log between Ripuka and Kenna ((Kimaria & DFA))

Ripuka.

She was many things. She was a Storyteller, a follower of Finar-Si. She was a mother of three-- no --- two wonderful children. She was loyal but cynical and occasionally slightly mad. She was a teacher and she was a fighter. But she was also a mate, and a loving one at that.

This was one of the reasons why she was taking the time to seek out Kenna.

Her mate, Makaa, had been living along side her for a long while now. However, though he was a true Firekin with a pelt that blazed and a mindset that was true and just, he'd never been officially accepted. There had never been time and Makaa had liked to come and go as he pleased.

But ever since Ripuka had discovered that what had meant to be a one night stand to help the Firekin breeding lines had turned into something more. She loved that lion desperately and she wanted to make things official.

He had seemed nevous about coming himself so Ripuka was here to do that very thing.

She was also curious about the queen too. She'd not yet had the pleasure or honour of meeting her and she very much wanted to congratulate her. She was, after all, a true predessesor of Makadari himself and Ripuka was rather happy that the Firekin now had a queen to rule them.

Despite the fact Kenna knew it was no time to be idle, there was nothing else she could do for the time being. Changing what had been done, the scars that the rebels had caused upon them was hard; their numbers had been thinned to the point the queen worried about their future, and above all, Kenna was not pleased with the idea they had been wrongly stripped of the land she thought rightfully belonged to the real Firekin of Old.

Alas, with nothing that could be done to physicaly remedy the problem itself, the red pelted lioness had put herself down to think and ponder. While there was nothing she could do just yet... there was always the posibility something would ocurr to her soon if she kept on tossing and turning the problem around in her head. Thus was how the morning found her; padding their newly acquired land in a stroll, her posture regal, as was expected from her, and her mindly deeply set into the problem at hand. Very few bothered her during her patrols or her random strolls, no doubt either fearing retribution, or simply not wishing to cross her.

A soft hmph like sound escaped her as she shook her head. No matter how many ideas formed into her mind, it all came down to a simple fact; as far as she knew, their numbers were less than those of the filthy rebels, which meant she could not take an ofensive approach to the situation. It was deeply frustrating; in her need to calm down her agitated thoughts, Kenna sat herself down by a rock, holding a paw up, licking it carefuly to groom herself.

She saw the blaze of red through her one good eye. The lean, brilliant figure of their queen. She was so young and yet to Ripuka she seemed stronger than any of them. She held the pelt of royalty and she'd done well to keep together the remaining traditionalists.

The Motoujamii-Safi.

She shook her head and moved onwards, her once fluid gate spoiled from her fight with one of the traitors. She'd never walk properly again. The wound would stay with her until the end of her days, reminding her of her failure.

Her face was scarred badly too, the side of her muzzle torn but healing well despite the deep slashes the claws of her opponent had left.

Besides, she was proud of these scars. They were proof that she would give her life willingly for Finar-Si's love.

She came within hearing distance of the young female and halted, bowing her head low as she spoke. "Queen Kenna." She laid her ears flat against her neck, submissively. "If you do not know me, I am Ripuka, daughter of Paytah and Nui'lua."

Indeed, she was young, and had been younger still when the rebels had broken into fight against The True Firekin. She'd been barely older than a cub, and as such had not been able to do much more than peer calmly at the battle that took place outside their den. She'd watched her mother, her father, and many of the traditionalists fight... and she'd been present to hear the roar of their fallen king.

A king that had not been of true blood. Not that anyone knew, as far as Kenna was aware; it was one piece of information she was not keen on the other Traditionalists knowing, mostly due to the fact their spirits were low even now. Such a blow would sink the pride's spirits lower... knowing that they had been ruled by someone, a bloodline that had not been deserving of such an honor would only serve to wound them further. As such, it was meant to remain a secret. A dity secret she would conceal from the rest in hopes of keeping the few that remain with them together. Strength would come in unity and number in due time, Kenna was sure of it.

Time. That was all what they needed.

The sound of another's voice pulled the Queen out of her reverie, and slowly, the female looked up, swiftly spotting Ripuka's figure. For a moment, she narrowed her eyes, trying to identify her; one could never be too careful, what with so many traitors walking the lands, so near to them. The limping figure was recognised almost instantly though, "Ah," she said calmly, a nod following the soft sound, "The storyteller; my mother has told me of you. One the oldest lions of the blood that still remains loyal to the True Firekin."

After a moment's pause, during which Kenna took in the elder female's submissive stance, she turned to look away, her tail flicking mildly, "Do join me in my morning stroll if you so wish to. I rarely have company."

She bowed lower still at the compliment, warmed by the kindness of Kenna's words. It was good to know that her hard work had not gone unnoticed. She'd worked long and hard to see that she fulfilled her duties.

"Yes, My Queen." She replied, lifting her head finally to glance the young female in the face. "To the end of time and beyond."

She canted her head at Kenna's request then nodded and took a small step forwards. "Gladly. It would be an honour. I have been waiting for a moment to speak with you, My Queen. To give you your congratulations and to pledge myself to you. I am at your command." Her trust was already gained. The young Queen was certainly an impressive figure.

Though her trust had wavered in the Goddess recently she was doing her best to make up for it. SHe would not think any of those treacherous thoughts again. "There are many things I wish to tell and ask of you, My Queen."
