It was a lovely day, the birds were singing, the sky was a beautiful azure, and a warm, pleasant breeze was rustling through the trees.
But none of that mattered to Reifa.
She was completely oblivious to the weather. Having been left on her own again, she wondered if anyone really cared that she lived out here all by herself. Bitterness coursed through her, making her wish that she'd kept one of her stallion companions around, instead of playing mind games with them and then hanging them out to dry. Her head dipped down, she was so depressed that she didn't even care that her beautiful, gold-streaked mane was dragging on the ground. Usually so conscious about her looks, this alone was a strong signification of her downcast mood, if one overlooked the few stray tears shamefully making their way down her face.
"What am I doing? This is foolish!"
Righting herself, she sniffed once more before defiantly stamping her front hoof. She was Reifa, a proper lady! She wouldn't continue such disgraceful conduct. Shaking her mane out to rid it of dust, she hid all of her loneliness inside.
Oh, how happy she would be to have a new companion. She reckoned that she'd be so relieved to have someone there with her that she wouldn't even try any of her mind games! At least...not for a few days, anyway.
Such a haughty, dominatrix of a mare. The one thing that could knock her down a few pegs would be loosing at her own game. Being manipulated herself. Of course, she never believed that was even possible for a mare as clever as she was. She believed that she was the only one capable of such feats. Oh, how wrong she was.

Seth had been enjoying a Lazy afternoon in the sky. His blue tipped wings caressing the clouds that lightly dappled the blue sky as he passed through them. Coal black body was a speck in the sky high above with a glint of gold every now and then. Gradually he grew bored of flying and began seeking something new to keep his entertainment. He tucked his wings behind his back and began a swift fall to he earth.
Unfolding his wings in a great show he slowed himself before he surely would have hit the ground and pranced gracefully against the grass and soil. "Ahh perfect landing." he said to himself with a shake of his head, would one expect anything different from him?
Seth took in his new suroundings, looing particularly for the stream he had seen from above. He was about to walk into the tree line when he heard the sniffle of a mare. He frowned lightly and peeked his head around the corner to investigate and witnesed Reifa's pep talk to herself. With a smile Seth knew he had just found his entertainment for the rest of the day.
"Why hello there beautiful." he said as he fully walked from behind the trees. "Im sorry to interupt but I thought I heard a Maiden crying back here, It appears that I was mistaken however for I find no tears here but a strong Mare painted in gold."

If Rei had realized that she was being viewed as "entertainment," she would've probably launched into a tirade, storming off immediately to sulk amongst the trees.
But she remained blissfully ignorant of that fact, reveling instead that such an angel, for that was how he appeared to her, would grace her with his presence. Having never met anyone of Angeni blood, she could only assume that his extra set of wings were gifts from the gods, and he must be highly favored.
"M-me? You're talking to...me?" A moment of disbelieving bewilderment coursed through her mind. Surely this stunning stallion did not just deliver her a compliment! A quick glance around showed that no other was present, and her heart immediately performed a few sets of gymnastic flips.
"Twas merely a moment of weakness, I assure you, I am fine." Wincing as she admitted to her tears, she immediately hid whatever discomfort she was feeling behind a demure smile. "I am no damsel in need of rescue...although I wouldn't mind being so if you would be the one doing the rescuing."
Taken back by her very words, she blinked amazedly. This was most certainly not like her at all. It was not customary for her to actually begin to like the stallions she accompanied, nor was her forwardness. Wondering if her weeks of loneliness were beginning to affect her judgment, she merely smiled and continued to observe the strange, compelling stallion in front of her.

Seth smiled as he listened to her, a breif chuckle escaping him as she studdered in disbelief. "Yes, I was addressing you M'lady." he gave her a small bow tipping his head forward and letting his ebony locks fall over his shoulders. His wings bent foward and fanned out in a flourish. A praticed motion, everything going according to plan.
"I am called Seth, and though I am flattered you would wish I where where to rescue you I would rather not have you in harms way, nor your heart broken to cause you tears in the first place." He lifted his head and peered at her for she had admitted her weakness to him. Oh how beautiful this moment couldnt go any better. The stage was set and he knew the dance to play.
"And what, might I ask, has caused your heart to crack and tears to fall? Surely heaven itself would burst to know and angle was crying out here alone by herself..."

Reifa's heart tied itself in knots as he spoke. Here was a more gentlemanly stallion that she had ever met. Or so she thought, anyway. If she had only known what he was really thinking, perhaps she would've been able to quell her quivering heart, but as it were, she was merely astounded that he would be so kind to her, and she realized with a shock that she already felt like she would do almost anything to get him to stay.
"If that is what you wish, then, Seth, then let it be so." She smiled at him, braving a step closer. "I am Reifa...and my heart has long been in a state of disrepair." Her smile faded for the merest of moments. "Loneliness, I suppose. But that doesn't really matter, now does it? I mean, you're here now, and I don't really have any reason to be unhappy anymore."
Rei did register that he had called her an angel, and held that comment close to her heart like a treasure, feeling it's warmth spread through her body. Her, an angel. It made her heart turn more somersaults.
