Skan Kanati was up to his usual tricks. While he wasn't a bad cub, he certainly was a crafty one, always getting himself in trouble and in time out. Today was just one of those days. He didn't mean to try and tug on Father's tail too much, but Mother had caught him, and decided that he needed to spend some time alone, thinking about why he was always such a handful. Skan didn't realize it, and thus he sulked near his 'time out' rock, glaring at the sky with such ferocity. Hmph, he wanted to go out and play, but he knew better than to go against his mother's wishes. Well, her stern wishes, anyway.
Tawa, one of the more behaved siblings, was actually poking at trouble a bit. Albeit unintentionally. He'd seen Skan at the time-out rock, and still walked over, despite his brother being in timeout usually meaning he should be alone. But see, there was a reason to this. "Skan! Hey! " He trotted over, perking his ears at his sibling. While he generally avoided too much time with Skan, mostly afraid of getting in trouble as often as his sibling, but today was probably worth it. It wasn't amazing news to adults, by any means, but to a cub, it was probably a little cool.
"Guess what! "
Skan did his best to not roll his eyes when his brother came by. Sure, he did like his brother, but he was sure that Tawa would just taunt him about being in time out. Skan was probably the time-out king at this point. He stuck his lower jaw out in a mock pout, obviously not pleased to be seen at the time-out rock, but equally torn with the thought of being able to talk to someone. Sitting here alone was boring, even if it was what he was supposed to be doing.
"What?" Skan had no idea what Tawa found was amazing, and wouldn't even try to guess. The world seemed big enough as it was, certainly he found something amazing that Skan didn't. Since this rock was the largest part of his world at this time in his life.
He sat down a few feet away from Skan, twitching his tail tip. "I caught a baby crocodile. It think it got carried down-stream or something! Its alive 'n stuff. " He raised a paw to lick it, though, as the little creature had managed a bite on one of his toes. "Wanna see it? I got it trapped by the tail under a rock! " He puffed a bit at his cleverness. He was almost positive no one else had caught a baby crocodile just yet! The water they went too was usually(probably to Mana's relief) free of the reptiles, and even then it was usually an unreachable adult that'd show up, find little attractive food and float back off like a log.
"It's like this long! " He stretched out his front paws, holding them away from each other. By his indication, it was about four or.. maybe even five of his paws!

Skan stared at Tawa in disbelief. "Do you have any idea how dangerous those are?" Ugghh! Count on Tawa to be the foolish one when Skan wasn't running around as a problem child. Obviously if Skan ever grew out of it, he'd certainly have to watch after Tawa!
"How, what...wow." Now this he had to see, no matter what. Even if it meant his mother getting mad at him for disobeying his time out. "You totally have to show me!" He raised his rump off of the rock, jumping down to land right next to his golden-y brother. "Lead the way!"
"I was careful! " Tawa protested, standing up again. "It just barely bit me once! And it let go fast anyway. " And it was a baby. Those were easy... er. Did Skan think he was dumb? However, he immediately forgot what Skan said as he was asked to lead the way, and without saying more, Tawa immediately trotted in the direction of the stream, but he branched off a ways.
It wasn't long before they reached the spot where he'd left the reptile, and certainly, there it was, in a shallow hole with a largeish rock on its tail, it had probably taken Tawa a lot of pestering the crocodile before he finally managed to get the rock onto its tail when it had already been tired. It was perhaps good that they tired quickly.
"Cool, huh? It was hard to get it far from the water. " Well, not so hard. He'd gone in pauses of grabbing it by the tail, dragging then leaping away, and as it turned, rinse and repeat.
Skan was surprised how quickly it took for Tawa to show him just where the baby crocodile was. He didn't realize that the river didn't carry them too often, so he was mildly surprised when he saw the exhausted creature sprawled out on the ground before them.
Admiration for his brother was the first thing that came to mind. Skan, as reckless as he was, would have never taken the task of actually catching one. But here his brother had done just that. Flicking his tail behind him, Skan inched as close as he dared to get a closer look. "This is awesome, Tawa. How did you even get it out of the water? Did you just hit it or something?" He watched it shoot a glare at him, and he recoiled back to stand next to his brother.
"They tire very fast outta the water, I think. It was sunning outside. So I snuck up on it and grabbed its tail! " He nodded. "Its not very heavy since its a little one. " He walked around the crocodile, just out of reach. "And whenever it turned around I'd jump away. Then when it looked away I'd grab it again. It took a while to get it here. " He nodded.
"I tripped once and fell on its head, too! It was kinda like it couldn't open its mouth. " He commented, then, walking around the crocodile as it eyed Skan, pounced on its back, sitting on it and keeping his paws on its nose. "See? "

Skan watched his brother curiously, a little surprised at all the actions that were going on. He'd definately try to con Tawa in to helping him when he felt that he needed some help on his little...adventures. This could turn out to be quite fun.
With a surge of confidence, Skan trotted up to the crocodile while his brother was smashing it's jaws together so it couldn't bite at them. He examined it closely, watching it as it seemed to settle down. He padded all around it, keeping a bit of space between him and tha long tail that could whip him at any moment.
"So what're you gunna do with it, Tawa?" It was an obvious question, but one that needed to be asked. "You gunna try to take it home?"
For a moment Tawa looked back as he felt it move, checking to make sure the rock was safe at the base of the crocodile's tail, keeping it from running off. While it was tired, he didn't doubt it'd try to run off! "I wonder how old they get. " He flicked his tail tip, shifting to be more comfortable on top of the scaley, rought creature while still keeping his paws on its nose.
"I dunno. There ain't much to do really. " He wrinkled his nose. "I guess I could show it to Unu'le, and Sahale would be so jealous, I bet! " He grinned. "But then I guess I'd just let it go. "
Skan watched curiously as he came back around on the other side to stand next to Tawa. "I betcha they get so old. Who would want ugly scales like that all over them for their whole lives?" Plus they probably got all gross, always sitting in the water and stuff. Mother never wanted them to stay too wet for long, and there jsut had to be a reason for that. He'd try to as his mother if he could remember....as innocently as he could, too. He didn't want her to find out that he had skipped out on his time-out! Again!
"I bet Sahale would be," he said with a snicker. "Unu'le might just get grossed out. You know how girls are." He cared for his twin a lot, but still. A girl was still a girl, and knowing her she'd either love it or hate it. And Skan would rather be the tougher one out of the pair.
"I'm sure Mother would nick our tails off if she found out, though," he said, laughing at the thought of it. She'd never find out!
At the mention of their mother, Tawa looked suspiciously to the skies, y'know.. just in case. Unfortunately, mom was weird, and sometimes it was like she jumped out of this air. "Maybe we should his it somewhere better. Till we get to show it to Sahale, at least. " He eyed the reptile contemptuously, then poked one of the "sharper" scales towards the tail. Still, he wrinkled his nose at the idea of how hard it would be to move the crocodile again.
"And maybe thats why this one was sunning. It was tired of being wet! " Come on, could you honestly expect a cub to know about reptiles' cold blood?

Skan looked around curiously, trying to find a place to keep it. There really wasn't a better place.... "I dunno, Tawa. Maybe we should just keep it here for now, and bring Unu'le and Sahale here as soon as we can. Maybe even Itsehi and Usdi, too!" Man, bringing everyone out would surely get Tawa a lot of attention, but it would be just as fun as well.
He mimicked his brother, looking up at the skies. He knew what his mother was, but that didn't make it any easier to deal with her. She was still his mother, and by all means, Skan sure thought that it was the same as any other mother. "I'm sure Mother's gone for now. I mean, she said she was going to busy today, right?" He never really realized that his mother did have a little avian that followed her anywhere, and would certainly rat them out if she felt it was the right thing to do. Skan was just a little too hotheaded.
"Yeah, we could do that too. " He nodded, then stood, though his paws sitll held it down. "Hey, step away now. I'm gonna let go of its nose. " He said, but not waiting too much, leaped away, then scurried back a few more feet. He made note to do it in the opposite direction of Skan, though, just in case his sibling was slow, at least the crocodile would go for Tawa first before it saw Skan there like a sitting duck.
"I wonder what they'd say! " He said afterwards, stretching. "I bet Terema would probably tell on us, though. " By accident, probably. He'd never really told Terema any secret, but what with how she acted, he highly doubter she could keep any if she tried. "So we prolly shouldn't show her. 'sides, she'll prolly be afraid anyway. "
Skan snorted at the small, but quick warning, and tumbled away from the creature. It certainly didn't seem too content being stcuk with where it was. Skan almost felt bad for it, but he also had to remind himself that it wouldn't pause to kill any of his sibilings if it had the chance. Hunger aside, they were mean. He glared at it for a moment before giving it a wide berth to meet up with Tawa again.
"Well, that's true. The more of us that knows, the more of us that would get in trouble too...so whaddya wanna do, Tawa?" He grinned. "Should we go find them and bring 'em here to see it?" He flicked his tail, almost as if he was ready for a race. He'd love to be the best of everything, regardless of how competitive his brothers were. It made things fun, and interesting.
He eyes the reptile again as it twisted to eye the two cubs, its narrow slits barely looking like they could focus onto anything. Those were such weird eyes. "Yeah! Who do ya wanna call first? " He stood beside his sibling, expecting as much of him to bolt off as soon as he announced who they were going after-- maybe even before. So he wanted to be ready to be off right behind him.

"I think Sahale!" The light yellow cub laughed, throwing his head up into the air for a moment with pure joy. He completely forgot about his time out, about how he was feeling earlier. He might regret it later, but only after he got in even more trouble. Right now, all that mattered was having a small race with Tawa, having more adventures, and being the crazy cub that he was.
"All right, ready? Aaannnddd, go!" Skan bolted, not bothering to think about anything else but his paws carrying him. Hopefully they'd find Sahale soon, and without either parent around. Sometimes cub secrets were the best kind of secrets to have.
