My Adventure #1
*There I was, traveling through the dence jungles deep within the island center. I was alone, the river waters were rising, and night was nearing... *I took a quick look around, using the intricatly wound vines as a way to climb up the towering trees. The animals; snakes, birds, bugs; were all fleeing as I was for shelter from the deadly torrent below... *Well, I continued to climb higher and further away from the torrent, and then there was one sickeningly loud noise followed by hundreds of smaller ones. That is when the rain began to fall and feed the monster of a river... *I could feel the blood drain from my face as I looked down to see the water stedily rise, and the treetops were in a panic. I quickly looked around for a place of shelter from the pouring rain, the rising water, and the howling wind... *I began jumping from branch to branch best I could; the wet vines weren't to be trusted. They were easily too slippery for me to have a hold of, of course the branches weren't much better. I was so exited when I saw an empty hallow dent a few yards away, when... *When I landed on a patch of moss, and my arms fell below me as I was flung forward.... *I clung to the branch for my life. My adrenaline was rushing rammped, and I was quickly starting to panic as my hind legs dangled. I tried to pull myself up with only my forerms, almost resulting in certain death. It seemed as though I were doomed... *I was very lucky that a wise old sloth saw me dangling. She slowly reached out and firmly pulled me back to the branch top. She then smiled at me and continued on her way, she seemingly unaware of the danger all around her. That helped calm me as I carefully continued to the hallow, where I rested until the storm had passed.
