The world no. 1 detective, L's latest goal is to hunt down "Kira". L, who is also said to be the trump card of the police, only takes cases that interests him. In Death Note, he can deploy (or seek assistance from) the police all over the world, including the FBI.

In Death Note, L describes himself as having a "childish nature", one who is unyielding and hates to lose. Highly intelligent and perceptive, he will use whatever means he can and even take drastic measures to achieve his aims.
