Perhaps Non or even Luna (Moonlit_flower_maiden) would be willing to make a thread teaching simple phrases and stuff. Non is a 2nd year in Hawaiian Language and Luna, though she doesn't post here often, is at the level of about a 6th year student to a fluent speaker.

Non is a 2nd year in Hawaiian Language and Luna, though she doesn't post here often, is at the level of about a 6th year student to a fluent speaker. I know some of the basics because I would simply listen ad see what the writing of it was. I know that the ` thing represents a break or a slight pause and that the weird line above the vowel makes it a little longer. I also know the definitions to some of the basic words like ki`e ki`e is majestic or something like that and mehameha is lonely and other basic things like that. I actually learned a lot of translations by simply listening to Kawaipunahele (sp?) over and over.
