ok i've kind of already expressed myself in a couple of threads, so i'll just quote it here:

Quote:
Ok, here's my take of Breaking Dawn:

**Warning!!! SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT!**

ALSO! This is a really long post with alot of my views of breaking dawn...so beware

I didn't hate it. I thought it was ok, but it definately wasn't my favorite. I have to say that it strayed VERY far from the other three books, and I know that she was supposed to get transformed and such, but to me it went a little farther than I would have liked.

The whole Bella getting pregnant bit kinda scared me...it was very awkward because it was so out of place...also, the honeymoon was sweet, but awkward. They had sex ALL THE TIME....i mean yea, he's hot and everything, but Bella never used to be so...so open about exposing her naked self to him. I do understand that they're married, but either way it seemed not like Bella. Also, her loving the cottage was strange because wasn't she always the city type? Eh, maybe her time in Forks changed that.

I know that it was necessary for Jacob to have a POV, but i thought it sort of ruined it for me...seeing Bella pregnant like that from his eyes made her seem like a stranger to me... also, her pregnancy seemed like a freaking YEAR with all the detail put into it...

I would have liked a battle scene, but I was fine with what happened. Well...except for the fact that the meadow scene got so dragged out to the point of boredom...ish....I also didn't like how all of a sudden Bella is a pro at her new accquired "shield" power...it seemed much too conveniant (i might have mispelled that...)

I'm going to bring up this point again just because it bothered me the most: the loss of character. I feel like the characters in the book hit an arupt change at the end of the honeymoon. I couldn't see my Edward the same as I did in the other books. Same with Bella and Jacob. They all seemed...different...in the worst way. Sure, they all talked the same and such, but I still lost my images of them from the book. My only guess as to the reason why is because of the pregnancy and how out of place it seemed, the fact that we saw Jacob in his point of view miserable all the time and being the responsible "alpha", and the fact that Edward and Jacob weren't fighting over Bella anymore. Their whole fued was the main thing in New Moon and especially Eclipse...(by the by, Jacob's whole imprinting episode really freaked me out) I think i liked the more playful Jacob that kept trying to take her away from Edward...it was fun that way

And yes, I know that the transformation was supposed to be a real confidence-builder, but Bella's shot up so high that I kinda didn't see the same Bella that I love in there much...that made me sad...and of course Edward just got more and more mushy...really different

Maybe I'm being picky, but my mom and sister kind of agree with me. I honestly do love the book, but sometimes I thought that I was reading a really well-written fanfic online with really really bizarre twists that seemed inaccurate to the seires...I also hate change, and there definately was alot of change in the book...ALOT.

I actually really loved the parts in the book where Jake and Rose were going at it. It made me laugh. blaugh

But hey, these are just my views. Really, they don't matter as long as you loved it. I just really want to know if anybody else here agrees with me.

so...there it is...really i won't hate you if you disagree with me. That's just how I feel. The book could have gone alot better in my opinion but i still liked in some ways. Lemme know what you guys think!!

sweatdrop ehhh i don't know if i have to say there's spoilers since if u came to this topic ur probably looking for spoilers or just wanting to express ur opinion like me ^^ so since i do talk about the book i say this is a spoiler so don't read if u don't want to know talk2hand

i do agree with you about the whole baby thing being out of place i felt like it was just added in, to create a sub plot to the whole Bella transformation and to lengthen the book but don't get me wrong i sort of warmed up to the whole baby thing by the end but it still feels a little wrong
the characters did seem different, i was irritated at the fact that the book felt like it was just dragging and that the wasn't much action just a really long suspense that ended in sort of a disappointment i love parts of the book it's just overall it was alright not great nor a complete disappointment
by the way i loved the little fights with rose and Jake as well the blond jokes got to me and i couldn't help laughing out loud lmao but like i've said i didn't hate the book just thought it could have been better but what do i know i'm not a writer i'm just expressing my opinion like others have

I like my green too much to white things out, so I'll say it now: I have spoilers.

As much as I complain, I could never hate the book. It's still a nice casual read whenever I don't want to think about anything deep at all and want an escape from anything logical or sane. Even though those moments in my life are after doing some IB homework.

I still should go back and read the first part since I skimmed over it since I am tired of Bella's inner monologues about Edward's perfection. :/

Jacob's part was amazing to read since he seemed so real and rightfully emotional. I could tell what his motivation was and that pleased me. Up until the damn imprinting on Nessie. Worst thing to happen ever. gonk

Breaking Dawn was 700+ pages of useless words. Good lord, woman, you did not have to waste 700+ pages. It makes me mad how Meyer keeps saying that if Breaking Dawn was to become a movie, there would have to be two. No freaking way. D<

And babies should not be plot devices at all. She said she had to get Breaking Dawn and wrote it because of Nessie. She was suppose to stop at Eclipse, but nooooo. She had to have Nessie and get another contract. Damn cash cow mooing her to do such a horrid thing.

As much as you guys complain about Renesmee, it would seem you wouldnt like the book. Because without renesmee there would be no book! the entire book basicly resolves around them saving the child. It teaches you that parenting is more than taking care of a child its protecting it as well. so renesmee also brings in a morle to the story. She is one of the most important charecter in the book.

I think I'll need to reread the book to develop an actual opinion... I liked it but it seemed unTwilighty. Unfortunately, I lent it to a friend...

Spoilers:
>I actually really liked Jacob imprinting on Renesmee! I'm glad he finally found someone. And I am SO glad that Leah joined his pack - I love Leah! XD<

Spoilers ahead, por supesto.

Yeah. I know. gonk Which is why I don't like Renesmee because she produced 700+ pages of worthless details. Meyer could've have easily gotten her story across in Breaking Dawn without all those pointless, repetitive inner monologues. Hell, I'd be just dandy without the book.
Even though Renesmee was the whole reason the book was even forced to be published, she was hardly there. She was used as a plot device and since Bella was narrating in unreliable first person, we don't get a sense of who Renesmee even is. :/ She's just Bella's perfect child who Jacob imprinted on and has the power to show people what she is thinking. She didn't bring more to the story, she was just a poor excuse for a plot device.
Also, there was no sense of parental care and hardships. Bella turned into this perfect vampire who was away from Renesmee a lot of the time. Sure, she thought of her, but she never did anything except hold her and then use she super special mind shield in the end.
