Verdi wandered down the hallway, taking each number in slowly. 104, here it is. Setting one suitcase down, she unlocked the door and let it hang open while she brought her things in. "Wow, this is, uh, fancy. Really fancy." With a slight kick, the door was closed and she set to work. Unpacking would only be a bigger pain later than it was right now. Any ghosts here would be finding her soon and they usually weren't a patient bunch.

Finally, with what felt like ages later, all her stuff was unpacked and put away. The room was clean, even her jacket was hung up, so she decided to head back out before she messed it up too much. No destination in mind, she'd just wing it.

Having parted from Gerald for the time being, Verdi made her way to her room and flopped onto the bed once inside. Her packages from the clothier had been dropped on the floor, looking abandoned.

She had done it. The young student had actually made a friend. Well, sort of. There was something odd about him in his too normal of an attitude, but that worked somehow. It was as if it offset Verdi's inability to be normal. Would she know true friendship finally? Spirits were one thing, but a living, breathing human being was another. Light, airy laughter filled the air. Anyone else would have been thinking about the ghastly spirit the two had encountered, but no. Here was this spirit-seer thinking about being friends with a living person. This thought caused more laughter, but it died shortly. That evil was still out there. It could still harm someone. A shake of her head and Verdi hopped up to change into her uniform and new boots.

A few minutes later, her regular-life clothes were piled on the floor along with the wrapping of her packages. In their place was a crisp new Grove uniform and knee-high black lace-up boots. The student twisted and turned in front of the mirror. Uniformity was not this girl's thing, but she would have to adapt. It's all for the mystery, that's it. It's all for the mystery. Keeping this chant up in her mind, Verdi left her dorm and locked the door behind her. How long would it take Gerald to change?
