Cause Jacob imprinting on Nessie made the book for me. I don't think that Stephenie Meyer could have done it any better, concerning the love triangle going on. The book was kind of sucking for me, up until the point I realized what had happened, and then I squealed and danced around the house a bit. What a break for Jacob. Plus, it left me some breathing room to start liking Edward again. Still a Jacob fan to the core, I mean, a vampire is still a vampire, but at least I don't have to hate Edward.
Anybody else, like me, dancing for joy?

Here's the fun part;
Jake imprinted on a vampire.
So this will prove interesting.
While I disapprove of Nessie GREATLY, I am glad Jacob finally caught a break.
But with a vampire baby, of all things. For some reason, I find it nauseating. I hate vampire spawn. scream

Yup, that was me when i read the last page of book 2, jumping around like a maniac because i was really really really happy for Jake. I didn't want him to me a miserable werewolf forever, that's just not fair. I'm thrilled that Jake got his happy ending and it's great that he imprinted on Nessie of all people, now he can be a part of Bella's vampire life.

Good lord, I was not happy with the imprinting. gonk So I'm not joining any happy dances about this mess anytime soon.
I thought imprinting was A.) a rare exception as Jacob keeps telling us and B.) a way to ensure that the shapeshifting gene is passed on by procreating.
Just how many of the wolves have imprinted? About half of them? That kind of statistic doesn't exactly scream rarity. Plus, Nessie's half-human half-vampire. Just how does that work out with the keeping the gene going? Can she even have kids at all? She's a walking contridiction.
And then there is Nessie herself. Good God, just who is she? As of now, we don't know that and it makes it hard for me to accept that Jake imprinted on a thoughtless plot device.
Even though I'm super unhappy with this, I won't pass my final judgement on Nessie and Jake until some proof of her having a personality is shown.

Well, I agree partly with the whole vampire spawn thing. I was truly sickened when I found out that Bella was having a baby by a vampire. (Shudders.) I'm not fond of them. Vampires, I mean. But I liked Nessie alright by the end of the book. But it does say many times on the whole saga thaqt a lot of things the wolves thought was just a sort of myth turned out not to be. Jake actually says many times that that's what the wolves thought about hte imprinting, and he actually says (or thinks, I don't remember,) that it wa bothering the pack that so many people were imprinting. But half-vampire....yes...that is very interesting. And slightly disturbing. But I did see a personality in Nessie by the end of the book and I liked her well enough, like I said. But...yay for Jacob!!!

okay so, Jacob imprinted on a half-vampire. I'm happy that he's found someone else to love instead of chasing after Bella, but really, why Nessie?
Imprinting is supposed to be rare, right? yet about half of the pack has done so, and on girls in the Quilete area.
And imprinting is ensure to pass the werewolf gene, right? And Nessie...err....does she even have reproductive organs? O.o

O.o Honestly, with everything that's happened in the books, I have no idea if Nessie has functional reproductive organs. Female vampires obviously cannot have babies and Nessie is half vampire. :/ And if we want to bring in a thread of logic (which means that this isn't likely at all since Meyer doesn't think things through half the time logic wise) Nessie shouldn't be able to reproduce since most hybrids are unable to breed.

the way I see it Nessie can reproduce seeing as Jake imprinted her,she is half human and they say not many people know anything about them so it makes you think what could be and MAKES YOU USE YOUR IMAGINATION, which so many have decided doesn't exist but thats just my opinion...which I am intitled to.....as for the topic yes I figured it out as soon as soon as he was about to leave that he had imprinted on her I was so Happy I just smiled real big no dancing just on the inside^____^

So, Jacob is basically screwed if Nessie can't reproduce, but like everything else in the book, maybe Nessie is "special" enough to reproduce. Then we'll end up with a human/werewolf/vampire creature thing like in the Underworld movies.
Hooray for 12 year old fanfic-like writing. neutral

Are you implying that NESSIE would turn into a wolf? I meant to say if Nessie could reproduce and she and Jake had a baby, then it would probably 1/3 vampire, 1/3 human, and 1/3 wolf. Sorry if that wasn't clear earlier.
And I never said I hated the book, I loved it, really.
