Okay, so I played 3.0-3.5 with finesse. I knew pretty much all it knew about characters. Even with my on and off status on the game. However I'm having trouble grasping 4.0. Maybe it's because I have the books downloaded and therefore I can't look up stuff with as much efficiency as a normal rulebook. However, I'm at a loss. What's up with the reduction in classes, I used to play a Barbarian, and they took that away. I used to play a Half-Orc, they took them away. Instead of Prestige Classes, they have Paragon Paths that seem very limited. They have Powers now, which I'm having trouble understanding how they work. The reduction of skills I'm slowly gaining some sort of insight on.
They said with 4.0 that it would be easier to craft a character, play, fight, and so on for beginners to veterans. Being a veteran, I'm having huge trouble creating my first 4.0 character... So please, could someone in the guild enlighten me. What the hell is all this about?

I think that what wizard said was mostly false advertising. Or they worked it so as they only know the dark secrets behind the system.
Seriously though, I think it's really made for the newer players that don't have 3.5 in their heads. I don't think a single one of our veterans of 15 years, besides me, fully grasp the 4th edition game.
