Versatile Baking Soda Mix
Ingredients:
1 pint bottle
1/2 cup baking soda
2 teaspoons vegetable or nut oil (Organic almond oil is my favorite)
1 pint of water
(Optional)
1 tablespoon aloe vera gel
5 or 6 drops essential oil
2 teaspoons liquid natural soap (Try Castille)
OR 1 inch cube of natural soap, broken into pieces
Add all ingredients to bottle except for water, then fill bottle the rest of the way with water. Shake thoroughly to distribute ingredients. If using bar soap, let sit overnight or a few days to soften up. Shake before using, and massage mixture thoroughly through hair and onto scalp and rinse. 1 pint lasts me three washes (I have shoulder-length hair).
For really oily hair or very dirty hair: Massage 1 tablespoon of pure powdered baking soda onto scalp before rinsing out mixture.
