This is one of my original poems. I wrote it for Thanksgiving, hence the name, lol.

A thanks giving poem

What am I thankful for?
I’m thankful for everything that life has to offer.
A blend of love, sorrow, passion, compassion,
Just a simple reaction to much satisfaction
But, to get to the point I’m most thankful for family.
For my family
Honestly,
Is everything to me.

Take my father for instance,
Without him or my mom, I would have no existence.
He’s the, guiding light of my life.
Like the, sun has its day
His son has his ray
Of hope, that one day he will grow old to unfold
That, he could be just like him,
To be strong,
To be smart,
To love from the heart,
Yes, my father is one a kind
And for all those who can’t see that,
They, are truly blind.

And to my mother, O, my mother
The earthly goddess that gave life to me,
Body and soul.
She’s my,
North Star
The, guiding light to my darkest night
The epitome of what is me.
The undying source of love and affection
She, is perfection
The definition of protection
Fore when she holds me,
The mourning comes
And the darkness fades away
Bestowing her strength
So that I may seize the day.
Like my father, who lights my way
She is the one that keeps me
From going astray

And to the wisest of the wise,
The saintly elders of this family.
My grandparents are the ones that,
Set my life and soul so free
The very roots of this family tree.
Though old, yet young at heart
Fore age is just a number,
Which we all expect to respect and remember
That they, shed their love upon us all
Spoiling us to the core
But hey, that’s what grandparents are for
And thus, we love them evermore.

Last but not least,
I’m thankful that I neither have cousins nor friends
But only brothers and sisters.
Never having to make amends,
Always having someone to be there
Just to be able to
Ask them, how’s my hair?
Or, just to have someone to look up to, talk to
Relinquish every worry of my mind
Time after time
Fore they will always be there.
And it is truly rare
To find someone who cares
As much as they do
And for that, my love for them will forever remain true

My family tends to set trends
That transcends perfection
Through their affection
And that, is what I am thankful for
I love you
All of you
For if nothing else,
This is true,
I’m just thankful to be a part of you.

the poem is supposed to be performed because it is written in spoken word form. so, what i did was i tried to place ( , ) where ever it needed a slight pause for dramatization. i hope this helps you read it better.

i hope you enjoyed this. this poem, i wrote for thanksgiving last year. its my favorite.

First kiss

Reminiscence of a kiss
Long faded, a jaded memory
Free from the clutches of reality.
A scene of sea and sand
And a soft breeze to cool the land.

The moon and stars lit the skies
With some help from fire flies.
A moment forever captured
Enraptured by emotion
Their lips eternally intertwined
By the ocean.

Note: no, this is not how my first kiss went. its just a fantasy of how i would have liked my first kiss to be like. ^_^
