The day was supposed to be nice. 'A fine day for an outing!' was what the weatherman proclaimed, 'Blue skies as far as the eye can see!' As far as Annalise was concerned, those clouds in the sky meekishly drifting along had better not decide to call in their buddies and make it rain. Not after she planned all this!
The woman was seated on a dark pink blanket next to a little girl in a pink dress, complete with a pink sippy-cup with little horses on it that had its own matching pink-and-pony-ified plate with -- you guessed it, pink napkins. Annalise sighed as her headache medicine began to kick in, soothing the ache Aricia's earlier screeches of joy gave when she showed the little girl the picnic basket and told her what they were going to do for the day. It was a wonder that her windows hadn't broken.
Next to her and ignorant of Annalise's earlier suffering, Aricia carefully lowered her hands onto her plate and picked up a red-tinted goldfish with the precision of a surgeon at work. This was gleefully crunched upon before another of a similar shade was selected. It would be interesting to note that her plate was full of purple colored goldfish, untouched save for when the girl moves one in order to pick up another red one.

Sibuna wasn't one to avoid a nice day on a day off, especially not when she had children to keep entertained. She could only keep them content in the house and the diner for so long, having the fortune, or misfortune, to have a pair of active sons and one new, bouncing baby girl. It just wasn't fair, especially not to Darva, being cooped up in one place when there was just so much of the world to see.
So she had gotten up the nerve to take them out for a walk, one of her sons and Darva. She had left Daemyn at home, considering him to be old enough to be alright by himself. Not like she didn't worry about it, though.
Darva was being wheeled in a stroller that was tilted just enough for her to see what wad going on. Her green eyes scoped out everything they could, almost never blinking, soft sounds of nonsense and glee burbling forth every now and then. Her brother, Kin, walked alongside she and Sibuna, arms behind his head, casual. He was about ten years old himself, perhaps younger. He was the one who spotted the little party first.
"Look, a tea party!" Grinned the golden boy, and the horned snake that was wrapped about his neck hissed softly. He didn't wait for Sibuna, simply breaking away and bounding over the grass toward Annalise and Aricia. Once he reached them he just stood there for a moment, hands on his hips in a gallant pose. He was obviously waiting to be invited. But he did manage a "Hello!"
"Kin!" Chided Sibuna, panicking a little. She looked to Annalise apologetically, "I'm sorry."

Annalise blinked in surprise, startled before giving the boy a welcoming grin. "Hello! Oh, no, it's quite all right," she waved towards the basket, looking from the boy to Sibuna before looking curiously at the child in the stro-- were those flowers growing out of her head? She felt a flash of envy (those flowers bested her own efforts to grow similar!), before stammering out "Ah-ahh! My name is Annalise, and this is Aricia. And, ah, is that a snake?" She leaned forward slightly, looking at the boy's choice of neck piece curiously.
Aricia looked up, her eyes flickering between Annalise and Kin, waiting to see what would happen. When Sibuna came into view, however, the little girl tilted her head to one side complete with a look of puzzlement upon her face. Was this...? Maybe...?
Her fish and the fact that she was no longer the center of Annalise's attention was forgotten. The little girl pointed at Sibuna and squeaked out, "You!"
