Mkaa was out for a walk on his own, which was not unusual. It was a beautiful and quiet day in the Pridelands and he was happy to take advantage of it. The pride was large and the lands were busy, but nearer the borders, nearer his family's den.. it was easy to remain on your own. So long as you didn't run into anyone who was particularly bored or something. After spending much of the afternoon wandering around, he was about ready to take a break and just relax. So he turned and headed towards the nearest waterhole, wondering how busy it would be- and hoping it wasn't too bad. It wasn't the largest, so it wouldn't be too bad.

Tearh fidgeted her paws together, eyes searching around, pacing back and forth in front of the family den. her mother nad father weren't home right now, no one was, and not the one she wanted to talk to. She was nervous, needed to tell someone, but not her mom or dad, not yet, she needed to see what her brother would say, what Mkaa would say.
Truth be told she respected Mkaa's opinion greatly, he was level headed, kind, shy sometimes, but a great brother.
"Uhg," she said with a sigh and took off, eyes searching for the familiar mass of black she knew so well, so she could tell him, ask what he thought of the matter. "Where did you go?"

The waterhole Mkaa intended to visit was past home, and it never hurt to check on how active things were looking at home before you really went there when you were a bit edgy. With everyone grown up, though, it was much less chaotic, though. Still, he would be best off preparing himself. He did not walk right by, but instead nearby. He was surprised to see only Tearh there, not just sitting quietly and relaxing but she was looking almost jumpy, pacing or something.
He stopped and looked around them, it didn't look like anyone was around. Curious, and perhaps a bit concerned, he decided to sidetrack his little trip and go and see her.
"Tearh," he called.

Tearh stopped her mind musing when she heard his voice. To think he would find her first when she was looking for him! "Mkaa!" she said as she walked -quite fast- over to him, to his side, stopped, peered around, "I need to talk to you, but not hear, I don't want mom or dad ot over hear, can you come with me? I need tot alk you you, please," usually Tearh didn't sound so panicked, worrysome, true, she was shy and still stayed around her parnts den but that was just the way she was.
"Come on," she said as she started taking steps towards a long cicada tree out on the grasslands, there her parents wouldn't be able to sneak up on them.

Easily alarmed in usual situations, Mkaa was especially worried when Tearh ran up to him and spoke very quickly. He got along with all of his siblings on different levels, and he'd always felt a little closer, a little more protective of his silver sister. He never really forgot their first little adventure on their own, though he knew now how silly they had been.
"What's wrong?" he asked, not really certain on moving away was worth the wait on talking about whatever was going on, but he followed after her and his imagination wandered freely over ideas of what could possibly be wrong that mom or dad couldn't hear.

"I don't know what to do, I'm afraid to tell them, either of them, especially daddy," Tearh said when she heard Mkaa's question. She sat on her haunches, fidgeted her paws together, rubbed them together like she did as a cub when nervous or afraid. Flicking and then curling her tail around herself, she let her eyes meet Mkaa's, "I met a boy, he's really nice Mkaa, I really like him. But I'm afraid if mom or dad knew, or didn't like him, they wouldn't let me see him."
Would they do that to her, when he made her feel so safe?
"What should I do Mkaa?"

Mkaa tried to wait patiently for an explanation, his imagination going wild as she said she was afraid to tell anybody-- until she said she met a boy, and immediately he relaxed. That was not the worst case scenario in the slightest, and for a moment he almost forgot he was her brother and how of all his siblings he was probably closest (and most protective) of her. But that didn't last.
"Who is he?" he asked, "Why wouldn't mom and dad like him? What's wrong with him?"

"He's really nice and kind and likes me too, he's very sweet, and he mkes me feel safe and-" she stopped, shook her head and pawed at her brother's shoulder. "Nothing is wrong with him! Don't say that. You just know how dad is, over protective, I just don't know how to tell him one of 'daddy's little girls' found a boy that she likes. I think mom would like him, but even there I am nervous, you would like him too Mkaa. He's very skilled at hunting, and doesn't have a temper or anything," she said with a nod.
"I just...don't know how to tell them, should I tlel them first before introducing him, should I bring him over? I don't want dad to chase him away..."

The dark lion blinked when she started gushing over this boy she met, and pawed at him. He supposed he deserved it, there were other reasons to be nervous.. maybe. And Mkaa himself had no experience in this area, and even if he did he was sure it'd be different than if he was a girl. He'd be the suspicious lion meeting the overprotective father.
If that ever happened, anyway.
"I don't know what would be best," he said, tilting his head, "What does he think, this boy?" And finally, Mkaa smiled a little bit. He still wanted to know who it was, but figuring out what to do about their parents was top priority.

"He doesn't really mind either way, me telling mom and dad first or him coming over and then me introducing him. But he also wants to make sure he makes the right first impression, so he doesn't know if just, spur of the moment 'hey I like him, ok?' would be best. He wants to make sure mom and dad approve of him..." he was like that. Always being sappy, sweet and mushy, wanting the best for everyone, a kind heart and soul.
"If you liked a girl, Mkaa, what would you want to do? Have her say something first or introduce yourself or...?

Mkaa decided that so far this lion did not sound too bad, wanting to make a good impression. He couldn't really hold a cautious disposition against somebody where he would probably behave quite similarly. Maybe for different overall reasons, but still.
He was not a good lion to ask for this kind of advice from, though.
"Uh," he stammered, "You'll have to introduce him sometime, maybe you should talk to mom first if it's dad you're so worried about. Have you met his family?"

Tearh wiggled her paws together again, looked towards the ground. "yea, maybe telling mom would be best, and she might hint something towards dad, to lessen the surprise blow. Then I could talk to dad, or bring him over, something like that should work..." at the mention of his family, Tearh laughed softly nad shook her head, "I haven't met them personally, but from what he has told me about his parents and siblings, they are all quite kind hearted and loving."
"From what he's told me he has a fairly large family too," she flicked her tail, thought a bit more. Hmm.
"So mom would be the first step, right?"

"Sounds like a plan to me, maybe," he said, idly drawing a circle on the ground with a paw and feeling almost useless, "I mean, she'd know more about it than I would. If he's as nice as you say, it shouldn't be so bad- right?" Mkaa glanced around as if expecting someone to sneak up on them, it would have been ironic for their father to pop up.
"Are you going to tell me who he is or am I stuck wondering until everybody else knows?" he asked, looking back at his sister.

"Yea, I think it will work." Her mother after all was her father's mate, and love, so...she would be able to help her own daughter no less, Tearh figured her mother would know the nervousness and feelings she was experiencing now, and that they would be able to figure this out together. Tearh laughed softly, let her eyes try to seek out his own, she wanted to tell him, but...
"It might be bes to keep it secret until I talk to mom," Tearh's ears swiveled as the wind graced the grass blades making her think as if someone was about, "I don't mean to not tell you yet...just...want everything to be perfect..."
Tearh stood and walked to close the gap between them, purred and nuzzled her head beneath his chin, "Thank you Mkaa," she said sincerely. PUlling back she bumped her forehead against his playfully, smiling.

"Fine, keep your secret," he said, pretending to sound hurt- and truthfully he might have been, but his curiosity easily overthrew those feelings. He would just be patient as long as he could, and seeing as it was so stressful for Tearh he did not imagine it would take long to get out. He smiled and returned her nuzzle, nudging her when she bumped their heads.
"I'm sorry I'm not much help," he said, then he walked in a small circle around her, "I was on my way to the waterhole, want to come along? Maybe mom will be back when we get back, and if dad is here too I can distract him or something."
