It was by chance that Leraph and Gale found themselves resting on the top of the hill in the midst of the clearing. Gale, though she was sightless, had discovered the place when she was wandering the forest. At first the sounds had confused her since there were no trees for her quiet clicks to strike or anything for her sensitive quills to touch. She had felt the grass then for the first time and, with a smile, traveled to the hill. There the tiny kylan had curled up and dozed off while the sun warmed her back.
Later, Leraph had come. Though she couldn't see his shining feathers or the glistening of his horns in the sunlight, she had sensed his presence. Silently they accept each others company and now they were relaxing together. Conversation was slow.
If only something would liven up the place.

Wandering around for days on end without food or adequate shelter wasn't something most kylandrei chose to do. It was a habit for Slayn, however. The more his stomach grumbled, the most he cackled ridiculously. Each step he took across this unfamiliar clearing shook his slender, bony form rather uncomfortably, but he ignored it, still laughing madly. It was only when something in the distance caught his attention that he was silenced. Two forms, one smaller than the other, came into view as he moved closer to the hill. Without care for formal introduction, his paws pounded at the ground, pulling him up the hill. He reached the top in no time. Posing strangely, tail flicking, bright green eyes stared at them as he grinned broadly.

It was Gale who noticed Slayn approach first. She flicked an ear in his direction. Was that.... laughing? She shook her head.
"There's someone coming. Can you hear?"
Leraph looked up just in time to see Slayn's grinning face. His silver eyes blinked as he took in the unusual appearance and pose of the stranger. Curiously Leraph cocked his head to one side, meeting Slayn's green gaze.
"Hello?" Leraph said, more of a question in surprise than a statement. He wasn't sure what to say after that, so Gale took over.
"Good afternoon. I'm Gale, this is Leraph," she continued flicking her tail behind her. She couldn't see Slayn, so she shared little of Leraph's hesitation. "We were just resting."

Introductions? Slayn's expression fell a bit. It didn't last long, however. Fangs were visible in no time at all and his tongue lolled out of his mouth. Eyes darted back and forth between the two, taking in their forms wholeheartedly. "Rest for the weary, little princess?" he asked after sucking his tongue back in. Moving closer to her, he all but ignored the male for the time being. "I'm called Slayn, I guess." Picking up his non-skeletal paw, he patted her on the head between her horns, obviously not caring one bit if such an action would bother her or anyone in general. Personal space wasn't part of his vocabulary.
Pulling his paw back, he turned to the one called Leraph now. Canting his head, he shut his maw, leaving only his lips curled into a crazy smile. "Hey, handsome." His long tail flicked out behind him. "On a date with your girlfriend?" It seemed he had a difficult time conversing between two people at once. One of his company remained nearly completely ignored while he focused on the other.

Gale flinched at the sudden contact. "Don't do that, if you wouldn't mind!" She frowned at him before brushing out her quills. She wouldn't have cared so much if she could see him and know his intentions. At the moment, she paid no attention to the fact that she would come off as vain smoothing out her fur like some 'princess'. Then she remembered that Slayn had called her a 'princess' earlier and winced, wondering what could be going on in his mind. Sometimes Gale was too concerned about what others thought of her. This was one of those times.
Meanwhile, Leraph was taken aback by the unsettling smile that he was now faced with. "H-handsome?" he stuttered nervously. He took an unconscious step back, rustling his wings uneasily. "N-no, we just met..." his silver eyes shifted this way and that, from Slayn to the empty space beside him to Gale and back again.

Eyes darted to the female, but only momentarily. "Not a date? How sad." The disappointment in his voice sounded completely false. Not to mention the fact that the expression on his face shifted gleefully, though stretching his smile even more seemed nearly impossible. "What nice wings you have, too. Anyone would be impressed." Clicking his tongue, he looked to Gale once more.
"Forgive me, little princess. Don't like to be touched?" He canted his head to her, moving close enough that his breath could probably be felt. This time, the skeletal paw lifted from the ground, threatening to touch her again as it moved ever closer. Yet, he stopped it, clicking his tongue again. "How sad, how sad." He gazed at the other male from the corner of his eye.
"Sad, don't you think?" His tongue flopped out again as he licked at his chops, moving back just a bit. "Perhaps I can touch you instead?" The skeletal paw, still frozen inches from Gale, changed direction toward Leraph now. Too bad there was too much space for him to reach.

Agitated, Gale gave Slayn what she thought would be a hard, stern look as she felt his breath against her pelt. Then she could feel the odd prickling sensation she would get if someone was too close. It was almost as bad as outright contact. She stepped away, but only as he was pulling away the strange, skeletal limb. "You have no sense of personal space, do you?"
On the other hand Leraph couldn't help but feel flattered by Slayn's compliment even through the fear of his gleeful expression. "Umm... thanks?" He tried looking somewhere else but his eyes kept flicking back to Slayn. But when Slayn reached out to him, he flared his wings in alarm. "No! Uhhh... please?"
Gale listened to the exchange, cocking her head to one side. At least she wasn't the only one getting a bit weirded out. Leraph, as far as she could tell, was nervous by nature, but his reaction seemed a bit... extreme? Fleetingly she wondered what Slayn looked like, and decided that she'd rather not know.

Attention drawn away, he was lucky enough to avoid the female's look. Not that it would've bothered him much. He would've been more than happy to look straight at her as her unseeing eyes scolded him, actually. It would've made his tail wag in masochistic bliss. But alas, he missed it, bright eyes still focused on the male. The male that was now moving away from his reach in a rather flustered manner. He frowned.
"Fiiine." The expression in his voice sounded true this time. He was disappointed. "I would've liked to touch your wings, though. I bet they're as soft as they are beautiful." A shrug of his shoulders and he moved back, taking a seat a socially acceptable distance from both of them. His long, slender tail curled around his forepaws. "Personal space is just that," he finally responded, having heard but not fully processed her question before. The smile returned as he canted his head and let his gaze fall to the smaller. "What I consider a good amount of space between myself and you is different than what you consider a good amount of space between you and myself."
