Walking through a small clearing, a petite dark colored flutter wandered around almost aimlessly. Chitsa liked wandering away from her teepee just to escape everything for a little. She really missed her mate, Roka, even though they saw each other often. Chitsa couldn't really stand being away from him. Being with Roka just felt so right to her and it felt like he completed her. A little scatterbrained sometimes, Chitsa gazed at the summer flowers fondly. It was a beautiful day. Not too warm, not too cold. Continuing to walk around, Chitsa was enjoying herself today.
Her latest little ones had already grown up and Chitsa already missed them dearly. But she knew that they needed to get out and learn new things. They needed to explore the world before they settled down. Though, even she would be surprised if they settled down anytime soon. She had heard that her mother had three more baskets and Chitsa was very surprised about that but she was glad that her mother had finally found someone to love.

Aimless was how much of their lives had been, before they met each other, and that was how he used to like it. It was not surprising that the two travelers were also acting upon the same sudden urges to walk around without purpose, in simple enjoyment of the atmosphere. What was even more unsurprising was their uncanny ability to fall into the same mind, same ideal path to wander, ultimately meeting each other again.
Though Roka desired to spend his entire time with Chitsa, he still held a commitment to his birthplace, his family, and everything that surrounded his permanent home. He knew the place since he had opened eyes, and it would never change--if only Chitsa would live with him! He knew, though, that both had separate duties and obligations to their own residences, and it was necessary--it was good that the couple frequented visits with each other, or often caught each other in a mild destined surprise!
Much to the wind stallion's delight, a very small flicker of radiant blue against a dark body--the exact colors he loved the most--caught his attention, and he automatically walked towards a lonely Chitsa mulling about the varied summer florals. His smile had already adaptively shown itself, and his voice carried out into the air like an arrow with only one target, "Chitsa, dear, lost yourself in the flowers again?"
His hoof beats against calm summer grass quickened as he made his way to his mate. Though it was rare to see the two apart, on the occasions that they were, it was quite a burdening and enduring wait for the poor stallion. Time seemed not so kind anymore as they grew older like their parents, though the memories more fonder. Their last spring kids bloomed almost as fast as their first ones, but not quite with their more watchful care. Roka himself was proud to say that Kanoa, the son who lives with him, was exhibiting behavior alike himself in many ways, and child rebelling wasn't something he suffered; rather, he found it too amusing that the child showed playful negativity towards his two sisters--it reminded him... of similar times.

She didn't know what she would have done with her life if Roka hadn't found his way to her somehow. Chitsa knew that she was blessed to have such a wonderful mate and family and she too, wished that they could spend more time with each other but she had too many commitments with her current teepee and its residents. Turning her head, the petite flutter noticed the winged stallion in the distance. She would have recognized that stallion from a mile away. Her heart beat a little faster.
She forgot the flowers and her focus zoned in on the approaching stallion. "Just a little. Are you here to save me then?" Smiling weakly, Chitsa always found it difficult to maintain her thoughts when Roka was around.
Chitsa knew that they were growing older and time was beginning to take its toll but Chitsa felt as lively as ever. Her children had grown up so quickly but they all seemed like children at heart. Little Linnea had bloomed beautifully but there was always a hint of apprehensiveness about her. Chitsa knew that she would have to let Linnea figure that out because there was only so much a mother could do. She only wanted the best for her children.
"How have you been?" She looked up and beamed at Roka.

Roka smiled boldly at Chitsa, countering her weak one, and responded, "I've lost myself with you, too, I'm afraid. What would you do if we were lost forever?"
He rushed forwards to brush Chitsa's cheek swiftly with a peck in tease, and withdrew to stand at an angle to her side. He was excited he was here with her, and it seemed like he had much to tell her, despite not having been separated for long, but... where to start, and what to say? This was what he had always asked himself in times like these, yet time eventually let itself pass to allow him to say what he had to at the most opportune moments.
"It's been great to be a father, Chitsa. It's strange how time repeats itself... I think I see a double of myself sometimes around Kanoa, but then I stop and have to think that over! But how are Linnea and Alston getting along? I think Kanoa misses teasing Linnea sometimes, and seeing Aeife around. I hope things are good with you. You always do brighten up the days," he said with a joyful demeanor, "despite your dark exterior!"
