It had been a day or two since she had left her home for the second time in her life. Who would have known the first time would only bring her closer to what had happened that caused her to leave once again. Her pink hue form trudged along a dirt beaten path that she hoped took her to the land of golden lions, the Pride Lands.

She, the eldest daughter of the great god, Limbuko, God of Pleasure, and the mortal leopardess, Hivu, was proud of her lineage. Her eyes could see many that others cannot. Her mind could envision things many cannot. A seer by birthright, she had her fair share of visions and yet none had foretold all of this before it was too late. Now, she puts her faith into another in hopes of bringing her a step closer to her happiness. A small, lithe form moves quietly in the late afternoon.

"Father, this was the path you spoke of, correct?" She spoke out, knowing that the said male was nowhere near and, likely, could not hear her words. A sad smile formed upon her maw as she looked into the sky, slowly turning into a burning red color as twilight nears ever closer. "I just hope... I am doing the right thing."

Mito, lazy as always, had found a nice spot in the dust. Nothing like a dirt bath to rid him of stress. Granted, such a lethargic and casual male had no real stress to get rid of. His life was one spent in leisure- something that no one could complain about unless they happened to hate calm days where nothing bad haunts them.

Stopping his rolling about, the dirty male looked around. Had someone just spoken? Yes, he was positive that he had heard a voice just now, but where had it come from? A quick scan over the grounds was enough to cure him of his questions. Not too far away was a very pretty creature Mito had never really seen before. A lioness, perhaps, but not one he was familiar with.

Then again, he had only met two in his life, and one happened to be his mother.

Getting to his feet, Mito suddenly felt a bit ashamed that he was so dirty. She would probably think he was some kind of idiot, rolling around in the dirt for absolutely no reason other than that he wanted to. Still, he was too eager to meet with her to clean himself off. Walking over, he offered a smile. “Miss?” he asked lightly, “are you alright friend? You seem a little sad…”

"Oh!" She squeaked softly in a bell-chime like voice as she sat back, recoiling at the sudden approach of this rogue. So she assumed. After all, where they were, she was consider one being a jungle native. But this lion, a creature that is genetically larger than she was one of the first males she'd seen since she was a cub. Now as an adult and unable to grow no more, the size difference was... well, a whole different experience. Her tail flicked carefully over her paws, paw pulled back, and ear folded.

Silver-lilac eyes looked over the dark form of this lion, he was nothing like her father. However, there was something alluring about males that she couldn't help but be drawn to. At least now since she was so... detached from the one she had been literally chasing after for her whole life. She could not tell if his eyes were brown or green or what, she only glanced for a moment. Strange light markings stood out against his darker fur. A soft smile crossed her maw as she noticed his body was covered in dirt. For a handsome lion, he wasn't very hygienic as most would like to be.

"I-I'm alright. Just a little... just a little wayward, I suppose. There is a lot to be sad about when you are lonely as I am right now..." she decrescendo the last bit. And how I feel...

Shaking her head, she tried her best to mask herself with a smile of a youthful leopon, looking up at him.

"My name is Limbua, it is a pleasure to meet a handsome male such as yourself. I do not suppose I am tresspassing on your territory or something along those lines..."

Mito watched the female, tilting his head thoughtfully from one side to the other as he looked for some kind of opening to make her happy. It really disheartened him to see others in a gloomy state. Maybe he could fix it.

He felt like fixing it.

“Lonely? Well, perhaps you don’t have to feel that way anymore. You do have a companion now, even though I admit I’m more or less a stranger. Awkward company is better than none, right? Tell me, are you a lioness?”

“Oh yeah!” whistled the male with a broad smile, “lions like me like to have territories, don’t we? Hm. Well, if this is mine you’re welcome to it. And if it isn’t- I’m as much a visitor as you are so it doesn’t matter. If some other lion comes along looking for a fight, I’ll protect you.” He grinned at that, swaying his tail back and forth. Sometimes he felt he was very funny, though the reality of the situation didn’t often justify the sensation.

He just didn’t fully grasp the concept of humor.

“Anyway, you’re not trespassing into my territory, so don’t worry too much about it, alright? We’ll be completely fine no matter what happens. Oh! And before I forget, my name is Mito! It’s a pleasure to meet you, lonely little Limbua. Is there any way I might be able to cheer you up a bit? Nothing hurts me more than seeing another creature looking so darn sad.” He smiled at her, exposing his teeth widely in an attempt to get her to smile as well.

"You have no idea how much I hear that question, Mito," She sighed as she sat herself down a little closer to the larger male. A question that always was asked at one point in another. Her body was short and lithe as a leopard but still strong like a lion. Since lionesses did not have manes like lions, there could have been mistaken, however, she did not have their tail tufts. "No, I am not a lioness, I am the offspring of a lion and a leopardess..."

She tried to change the subject.

"A territory not your own, either way, it is the company that I seek as to whom the territory is ruled by, I could care less. I really appreciate the company, Mito..." He had no idea how much she needed this. Quietly, she moved herself closer so that she was almost next to him. Hopefully, the lion did not mind the leopon's presence so close to his. Her face flushed a little at his latter comment. "You'd protect me? But I am a mere stranger, what would cause you protect someone like I? We... barely know one another."

Through his soft words and calm nature, she could not help but smile a little at him for all that he has said and could possibly do for her. Who would know if she may run into him again or not, if there is any reason to run into him in the first place.

“A lion and a leopardess?” he repeated in awe, “well… imagine that. I thought your body was too beautiful to be a lionesses. Leopards have such… nicer frames.” He chuckled lightly, shaking his head, “Ignore my ramblings. I’m sure you already know how stunning you are. Don’t need me reminding you!” He grinned at that, shaking his mane about. Of course she knew. Who wouldn’t realize their beauty in a frame like that?

At least she wasn’t an over-sized, somewhat plump and entirely too fluffy lion like he was.

“Well, I’m glad to be here then,” he replied as she started on about how much she appreciated the company. It was nice to hear that he could at least offer her something small to make her feel better. He didn’t know what else he could have done if she told him he wasn’t really needed. Staying put, he let her get closer, just taking in her frame in the mean time.

“That’s true,” he said thoughtfully, “but you don’t always need to know someone to protect them, right? I mean… if something is in trouble, wouldn’t you ask questions later and rush to their aid in the moment? I know I would. But then again, maybe I’m just reckless and foolish.”

“So, Limbua, was it? Is there anything you would like to talk about while we have the time together?”

"Yes, sir. My father and my mother, two different and yet all the same enough to have me," She replied with a rather melancholy smile, trying her best to seem pleasant in the presence of her company. She looked at her paws, shuffling them as he spoke on. "It certainly makes one feel all the better to be reminded and to know how others think of someone such as I. I appreciate the compliment, Mito."

It has been such a long time since anyone had ever complimented her outside her own family. Others who found out her species were dumbfounded or disgusted with how she was. An abomination even. Such narrow minded mortals, blessed with their normality.

"You sound very much like someone I know," She chuckled softly, looking up at the sky. The memory of her father rushing out under her, making himself available when she plummeted from the treetops of the jungle. He did not ask questions, he rushed to her aid like a male should. "You are not a fool nor are you reckless, I can see that, you are simply there for others," She smiled as her eyes shined lightly, perhaps a reflection of light, but those who knew her close knew otherwise. "Even if you are... a lazy lugg."

It took her a moment to think of a topic as she laid herself down, turning her attention away from him.

"I left my home to seek a place where I would feel wanted. By someone, someones, anyone really. But, I might not find them in this life time in the next, but hey, I got a lot of life times to try, y'know?" She laughed, trying to dig out the mood of the conversation. "What about you? Have anyone like that? Someone who would want you, or you to want them?"

Mito could only smile as he was thanked. It seemed odd to him, to be recognized for a compliment in such a respectable manner. Most animals just giggled and shrugged them off, already so aware of their beauty that they hardly needed him to remind them of it. This creature, however, seemed much more pleased. He enjoyed that, actually. Even if it was a little strange, it was also pretty damn cute.

But he didn’t compliment her anymore, letting the moment sit in its splendor for the both of them a while longer. Too much of a good thing wouldn’t do either of them any good.

“Oh?” hummed the creature, “someone good, I hope. Someone you like?” Laughing lightly, he shook his head, mane flailing slightly as he contested the comments. “To be fair, we’ve only just met. I may turn out to be the most reckless and foolish lion you’ve ever met. I’m… really not… but you wouldn’t know that just yet. And I’m not sure how to take being called a lazy lug,” he commented. But he wasn’t upset by the remark.

Mostly because it was true.

“A lot of lifetimes?” he frowned. Was that some kind of existential talk? Mito wasn’t much for heightened conversation. Sighing, he pretended not to have had an issue with the comment’s meaning, moving on, “I’m sure you’ll find your place. And even if you don’t, you’ll find people who care about you. We rogues are just as capable of making others feel wanted! And as far as I go… well… I don’t have a someone, really. I mean… not an adult someone. There are a couple children I’ve somehow managed to take under my wing without really noticing it. I think they want me, and I know I want them.”

Limbua flicked her tail lightly, curling it tight underneath her. It felt weird being near someone like him, he wasn't those macho, pig-headed males who did everything they could to win over someone with their muscles or they absolutely perfect features by belittling another. If she could, she would avoid them. Mito was the sort many females should look for. Sweet. Kind. Sensitive. The leopness smiled at the thoughts she was thinking, smiling at him.

"Like... my father. I don't see him too often, but when he is around, he is the center of attention. I guess you can say he is special," purred the female. "We may have just met, but I trust you enough. You may be foolish or reckless, but I am sure for good reason," The comment that me made after made her giggle some. She already knew. "Consider it a compliment, everyone's so busy running from place to place, no one just stops and just relax."

"Forget I said anything. My horrible attempt to lighten the mood," Limbua replied instantly at the sight of his frown. Obviously, he did not like the statement. She had no idea where she was going with it herself, improv was the likely answer to get them to talk some more. His words were encouraging, however. "Thank you, Mito. That makes me feel better and gives me some faith that I will find it all," before she could add another sentence, Mito spoke of adoptive children which surprised her, the female's attention piqued. "Wow, Mito, really? A male who would take in cubs, noticing it or not, is quite a task and certainly one that would catch an eye of a female or two. It shows that you can be a good father."

Murmuring, "You know ... I could fall for someone like you, but it's rare that you find someone like that."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 01, 2008 1:10 pm

“A good father?” Mito shuddered, “I really don’t know how I would act knowing they’re actually my kids. This is easier because they’re not technically mine. I didn’t know them when they were completely helpless little babies, you know? That scares me a little. Having to take care of something completely dependant on you… I don’t know if I would be able to do it, in all honesty. But I do like the ones that are with me right now. Refu is a male lion who’s a little awkward around girls. I’m trying to teach him not to be so forward but it’s kind of difficult, you know? And then there’s Laika… she’s a completely insane wild dog pup with no family. I adore her.”

He smiled at the thought of them. So his family was a little strange, what of that? His heart was large enough to love them all regardless of what gender, age or species they happened to be.

At her next comment, Mito couldn’t help but straighten, a knot forming in the back of his throat. He kept his cool, though, offering a smile. “Really? I’m happy to hear that,” he said, “sometimes I think I’m a little too… chubby for anyone to really like.” He looked down at his fluffy stomach. Not that he was horribly over-weight, but there was a certain roundness to his frame that was hard to deny.

Those few times he did have to take another’s life, he made sure to fill himself up so he wouldn’t have to do it again for a while.

Now he felt odd. He wasn’t quite sure how to continue. Talking about being possibly attracted to others in the future was weird. Nice, but weird. Sighing softly, he grinned. “All this talk about me is awkward! You’re something special too, you know. I’ve never seen a prettier creature before. And you sound very smart. Much smarter than me, anyway. I’m a little thick.”

No shame in admitting it.

She placed her paw over his, looking at him sweetly. "That is the great thing. When you do have cubs of your own, a day that will be, you aren't in it alone, Mito. You will have the mother to help you. And if these children care about you, they will help you too," She spoke. A male lion who was awkward around females? Well, that was very interesting indeed! An insane wild dog pup, that would be a task to deal with but if Mito was able to manage them, then all would be well, she certainly would not mind offering a paw to aid. She had quite a lot of time on her hands and helping him was the least she can do for being with her for this sort period of time. Company was always good. "If you like, I could spend some time with Refu and help him get a little more comfortable with females, but you're on your own with Laika. This is quite the family here, sir."

"Chubby?" She laughed as she nuzzled against him. "It is just more of you to love and embrace. What do you expect to be? The perfect figure? The big, macho male that everyone tries to be? If you are comfortable with the way you are, then you should be proud of it. Take it from one who won't change, you are perfect as you are, sir."

She flushed lightly at his comment. Though she could understand how she made her feel awkward, but being complimented about herself was special in itself. If only he knew about her.

She removed her paw, smiling at him.

"If only you knew me, Mito. You may be thick, but I am entirely different. I only act smart to make up for the things I lack. Besides, for someone like you, you should be happy with yourself and what you have."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 02, 2008 10:31 pm

“You think so?” Mito replied, “I suppose it would be easily to manage with a mother around to lend me a paw. But then again, if I’m a completely horrible father she might just take the cubs and leave. I guess there’s really no sense in speculation, though, is there? If it happens I’ll cross the bridges of parenthood when I get to them. For now, I’m happy to sit around and watch the cloud go by. Maybe take a nice nap in the sun. Not sure how soon I’ll be dealing with my own cubs when I can’t even seem to get off my own butt for three seconds. I’m sure Refu would love to meet you! Maybe we’ll meet again and I can bring him around to meet you. I’m sure he wouldn’t know what to do in the presence of such beauty.” He laughed at the thought of it.

Mito couldn’t help but feel a little uncomfortable when she got herself so much closer to him and gave him a nuzzle. But, as he soon discovered, it wasn’t the bad kind of uncomfortable that would make him pull away from her. He was too pleased by her company for that, though he did give slightly in to impulse as he pulled his head back slightly, if only to look at her better. Smiling, he could tell his ears were probably glowing red, so heated from his embarrassment.

“I’m perfect? Well, comfortable or not I wouldn’t go that far, but I’m not in the mood to go altering how I look. I guess that’s just because I’m such a lazy creature. Not rushing for a family or to get fit. But I enjoy it,” he laughed, “one day I’ll be ready for change. And you don’t have to call me sir! Mito is much better, I think.”

He laughed as she called him thick. “Ouch,” he chuckled, “sometimes it’s alright for the lion to tease himself, but not so much to be teased by others.” He got to his feet, smiling as he did so. Sitting had become something he no longer felt inclined to do. Not because of what she had said, though he did find himself just a little offended.

Little bit.

She batted at him in jest, "Right, right, one step at a time. Now you just admitted to being lazy, so I can poke at you all I want," She giggled as she purring softly. "I won't have a chance to experience such a rite of passage as parenthood, so I won't be much of a use for you. But if you'd like to have me around, I'll gladly help you with anything you would need me for. Especially with Refu, if I can work some female magic, I might be able to get him on his feet to find himself a mate of his own when he's old enough," All her life was thrown into activity. At birth, she had to live up in the canopies of the jungles to survive, sleep, and eat. She only came down to bath in the local river and play with... one who shalt not be named. It was all rushed by and she hardly got the chance to stop and look at what was around her. That was one thing Mito had that she didn't and she envied him a bit.

"Must you always compliment on my beauty? Granted, it came from such a source that would even make you look at me in more awe than you do~"

She was glad she was able to get this close to him like this. Many would get up and move away, knowing that he was still laying here, it meant that there was something that had him allow her to be this close. The company that she longed for were always fleeting so this was just getting all she can before it does go away for who knows how long. She too was a little heated in cheeks and ears. The way he complimented her and the way he spoke, she couldn't help it. Limbuko did that too, but it came natural to him, was it the same with Mito?

"Alright, Mito it is," Limbua chuckled softly. "With each their own. At least you know I like you as you are, as a friend's perspective. Is being lazy such a bad thing?"

She watched him get to his feet as her ears flicked back knowing that she may have offended him more than she had intended, if she even intended to begin with. "I'm sorry, Mito, I-I didn't mean it like that. It's just harder..." She rose herself up and took a few steps away from him. "When you're father is different and you are... god born," she lowered her head as the thoughts of being called a freak or an abomination. A creature born of mortal and immortal, a lion and a leopardess, one capable of seeing things future, present, and past. She figured she may not see Mito again with her previous comment, it would be better for him to know who she actually was than just a pretty face.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 03, 2008 10:36 pm

“Can’t have children?” Mito frowned, “I’m sorry to hear it. I think families are so important. But as I’m finding out, you don’t need to put your genes into an animal for them to be amazing children. I’m happy to have met Refu and Laika, even if they aren’t really my children. I’ll always think of them as son and daughter to me.” He smiled. Adoption, however accidental, really was the best thing he had ever known thus far in his life.

Laughing he shook his head. “If you’re free to poke my chubby body, then I should be allowed to make true observations of your frame. I mean, fair is fair, right?” he asked pointedly, “I may even come up with a nick name for you that relates to your beauty, should I manage to think of one.”

Shrugging, the male rolled a bit away from her, though only to get onto his back. Turning his head back towards her, he smiled. “I’m not about to complain about being lazy. For me, it’s not a bad thing at all. Though I suppose I do understand when others get frustrated with me for not doing things in a timely matter.” Not that it had actually ever happened, but he knew if it DID then it was justifiable to be upset with him.

Coughing, he tasted bug in his mouth. Something must have flown in there when he was looking at Limbua.

Once he had gotten back to his feet in his slight offense, he sighed,, shaking his head and offering yet another warm, disarming flash of his teeth. “No no, nothing to be sorry about. I just wasn’t expecting it, that’s all. I’m too emotional for a male; things get to me more than they should.” He moved back over to her, taking a seat at her side. “God born? No wonder you’re so beautiful. I thought there was something special about you. But, really, don’t be upset. I’m sorry for putting that frown back on your face.”

"That is the risk of being born of two like myself," She murmured. It was also the reason that she never experienced true love and the reason why her only friend and love-interest left her. She was not lucky like her sister. "If I was lucky to meet someone who would see me as a mother, I would gladly adopt them and take care of them on my own if I had to. However, that day's not come for me," She gave a soft chuckle. "At least, I won't have to worry about losing my figure due to pregnancy..." somewhere inside, she did want to experience it all.

"Agreed, you win that one, Mito. However, when you do think of a name for me, then beware that I might just call you something in return," The leoponess chuckled with a cute raspberry.

She laughed, "Males I've known aren't always the most punctual things. Not even my father, he is always late when you do need him around, but as long as he comes, it doesn't matter. Better late than never, surely being lazy hasn't completely immobilized you to do somethings." Another chuckle, she couldn't help it with him. It was like as if anything she said to him made her chuckle.

Limbua blinked when he sat down next to him, not expecting him to take those steps after offending him and then dropping such a bomb as those previous two. The female was dumbfounded, embarrassed, and ... well, speechless. Her soft lilac eyes looked him over for answers but found none that could help her in any case. He was just--Mito. Turning her head down, she spoke again.

"My father... Limbuko was--or rather--the God of Pleasure. My mother was a common leopardess who fell to his words. From all I know, I'm his eldest daughter, as a god born, we're all given a gift that most would not want," Not many times had she had to explain this to others. In fact, she wouldn't like to. She loved her father and her mother, she was proud to be what she was. She just did not like how others judged her for being a hybrid, a god-born, and a seer. She has even been warned of others using her for her powers, so that was usually not mentioned if ever.

"Mito... how can you just sit there and still think I am beautiful as you say?"
