She could not venture far. If she did...Maluuni gave a silent sigh and put a paw to her throat where the scars from the insane cheetah were visible. She couldn't yell for help from the group she was traveling with. But...the little creek just at the edge of the others' sight was far enough for her to think. She'd lost two cubs to the demons in their blood, and another had run off into the Rogue Lands. The small lioness was not in a good state of mind or body. She lay in front of the water, one paw dipped into the cool liquid.

This living on your own thing was tough. After his klipspringer guide was injured by another lion and healed in the generous lands that the one lion (whom he did not catch his name) led him too, Kipofu’Bakhti was in peril. He loved his guide like she was part of his family, but he couldn’t risk her getting injured when in his company. It wasn’t safe, especially if he couldn’t see to protect her. He had let her go, into a herd where the story was no other predator could touch her. Inwardly he smiled, he knew Lonny would love it there, but he still missed her. After all, they’d been together for what seemed like an eternity.

So, this is where he was currently. On his own, taking nice and slow steps to not bump into anyone or anything. Certainly he could feel his way, but having the guide spoiled his senses slightly.

He could hear the sound of water, like you would hear when someone was getting in, or out of it. Perhaps even a fish jumped! The male licked his lips, heading in the direction of the sound. A scent hit his nose, though vaguely there, it told him another was near. “Hello?” He looked around, a habit you could say, as his opaque hued eyes looked in the nothingness
.

Red ears flicked about as a voice caught Maluuni's attention. She was quickly on her paws, wincing as healing wounds protested. Her eyes widened. A lion...A male one...She looked about in panic, and then realized he couldn't see her. What? She stayed where she was, ears back, and tried to use her voice...it was quiet and harsh, but there. "Who....are...you?" Her tail lashed behind her, she would...investigate, and see if he truly could not see her...But she would not trust him. In pain and hurt she was, but she was a quick little lioness, and the others weren't far.

The movement the male had caught on to well as he shifted his weight towards the left. He was looking straight at the female, but not directly at her persay, more as right past her. His eyes never focused entirely. At the quietness of her voice, yet the tone it still held, his ears flickered, somewhat dropping. “My..My name is Kipofu’Bakhti.” The air was tense, almost as if it were too hard to breathe. However, he did not hold a defensive position to this other female, after all, this could be her lands he was trespassing on.

“I’m sorry if I am on your lands, my guide is no longer with me, and I can’t very well see on my own,” He sighed slightly. Maybe leaving the pridelands wasn’t such a great idea after all…

Maluuni sighed. "Y-you...are...not..." She coughed, cringed. "Tre'passin'..." She hated not being able to talk normally...to talk with pain accompanied. "You...can'ot...see?" She moved a bit, trying to better place herself. She'd never met a lion that had problems seeing...nor any cat for that matter. Only prey...

Her voice. There was something about it that made Kipo want to cringe. Something was wrong, but the male couldn’t figure it out. Maybe this other had a disorder like him, but without seeing, he couldn’t find out. Sighing in relief, he gave the other female a small smile. “Maybe you should get some water for your throat…” He offered, thinking she could possibly have a sore throat, hence the raspy harshness the tone held.

The male shook his head, “afraid not.” He told her. “Haven’t been able to since I was born. My father told me my aunt is the one who did it to me, killed my mother the same day too.” He sighed. It didn’t bother him too much, it was only like he knew his mother for a few weeks and that was it, but now he was an adult, and old memories were hard to hang on to.

To be unable to see...Maluuni shuddered at the thought. She certainly would have died as soon as her old pride discovered she was blind if that had been her fate. At the mention of water she laughed...and then coughed as pain hit. "W-wa'er...ne'er 'elps." She sat, unphased by his family. Her own had been less than good. "It...har' to sp-speak..." If he was truly blind...Maluuni did not like male lions...not at all...but she had a feeling Muli would be rather irate with her if she turned away someone who needed help.

So, it wasn’t a sore throat if water didn’t help. “What’s wrong with it?” Obviously, the male couldn’t see the scars the marred her pelt.

It was then he noticed something. Every time she talked, it seemed to bring her pain as she started coughing. Frowning, the blind male shook his head, “You shouldn’t speak then, at least, until it gets better.” If it gets better, but he didn’t add that last part on. He mentally kicked himself, he was the one making her talk anyways!

Maluuni blinked, a little on edge again. The last lion had been nice to her. Very nice. And then screwed her over. But she would stay...polite. "Fight...I lost..." She moved over by him, keeping an eye out if he flashed his claws. "Group...near. Othe's...ca' 'elp you..." She would lead him to the others, then stay on the other wide of the area they were staying in, and keep her remaining cubs near. She would not risk loosing these last three.

A fight? Apparently she came out on the losing end of the battle, or at least ended up with battle scars in which caused her voice to be wrecked (Or she just said she lost). His ears flickered, listening as she came closer. By her movement, he could tell she was uneasy about him. Kipo understood that, which is why he backed up a step when she neared.

“Others?” How many were there, and where? Not near here, like in the general vicinity. “How many others?” Kipofu hadn’t been around too many others since he left the pridelands.

”What’s your name?” He asked, so he could address her properly.

Maluuni counted the group in her head. Her cubs, Muli, Chukua, their little ones...Eleven total. "E-ele'en..." She did not mention most of them were cubs. Even a blind lion could be dangerous..."Lioness....'n' leo'ard lead." When he asked her name, she hesistated. Could she still say it? What if he knew the meaning of her name...Old fears about her coat color started to surface, and then she remembered he could not see.

He was someone who would truly have no use in knowing the color of her coat. And...he was mostly white. If he'd been born in her birth-pride, he would have shared her life of hatred and servitude under Mwenye. So she answered. "M-Maluuni'jambo." The small lioness held back another cough of pain.

So they traveled in a large group. Eleven, was that what she said? Kipofu frowned slightly. "It must be nice to travel in a large group," He said quietly. "Where I came from, there was a large pride of over a hundred members. Some cubs, and other youngsters." When she mentioned a leopard, Kip's ears flickered. He had never met a leopard... Or at least, he never thought he met a leopard.

"Maluuni'jambo." He repeated. "It's nice to meet you now that I can officially say your name," He joked with her, frowning again when she coughed. "M..Maybe you should get back to your group.." He didn't know if he should follow her to it or not. After all, she seemed skittish around males. Kipo knew he wasn't going to do anything to her, but the female didn't know that.

A large pride...She'd never known the comforts of a large pride. Both prides she had been in were small...one just starting and the other not old enough to be large. But the group she traveled with...despite the males, she loved the group. Muli was her sister-by-soul. And Chukua was careful of her...Even the most adventurous of the little leopard-lions was good to her. "Yes...'ery...ni-ce." Though he was male, and lion, Maluuni would not turn him away. Muli would not forgive her...and Maluuni knew full well how hard life was when nature was against you. She herself was suited to the forests and jungles, not the savanna.

"C-come...with? N-not fit...to wander...alone..." She was talking about him. After all, she wasn't truly alone.

When she had offered him to go with her and her traveling group, Kipofu's ears perked forward. He really couldn't impose, but when she said not fit to wander alone, the male sighed. He knew she was talking about him, after all, if he traveled by himself, it most likely meant more danger than good to befall upon him. Sighing, he nodded his head. "Yes, you are right." Though he didn't want to admit it. "Lead the way Malu." He waited for the female to go, before following a little ways behind her, to give her the space she needed.

Maluuni started off, needing no more words other than 'this way'. Said rather haltingly, of course. It wasn't far, but Maluuni made sure to avoid obstacles Kipofu might have problems with. And she was sure not to walk too fast, so he needn't end up tripping over himself trying to keep up. She laughed a bit in her head. Imagining Muli's surprise at MALUUNI bringing a male back to the group...Life kept throwing her twists.
