After reading the first post, what do you think of this?
  It's neat!
Where has this been all my life? I WANTS IT!
  Maids? No thanks.
RPGs... like Dee un Dee? No thanks.
I don't like comedy. I sleep with skulls and dress in black. Smiling hurts my soul.
So... when can I make a character?

One thing I think many of you guys might enjoy is that I'm involved with the first pen and paper role playing game from Japan to be translated in english- Maid RPG.

The players are all maids, randomly created and they have to make the master of the mansion happy with the usual duties expected of most maids: waking him up, getting him breakfast, fending off demon ninjas and piloting giant robots to destroy meteors about to slam into the mansion.

Character creation takes about 5 minutes and it only needs a few six sided dice.

So would you be interested in such a game?

This actually seems pretty interesting. I think it might belong in the Gaming subforum however. Can we play on Gaia? (^o^)

Whoops, didn't mean to put a thread where it shouldn't go.

I suppose one could play Maid on a message thread, it is simple enough. I prefer live games but I've run a lot of preview games on IRC and you could check out the logs HERE.

What I could do here is see what zany anime maids we get using the dice roller. You just roll 17 dice and I'll consult the handy dandy random charts to see what character we get. It's like casting our own bizarre harem show.
It worked when I decided to commission a random maid, rolled right there on the spot at the commission forums, gave the artist the base qualities and let him go crazy-

That's awesome, but they're both going to take severe penalties due to being out of their maid uniforms.

I was thinking more something like this... rolling d6's here...

(updated after figuring out all the rolls above)
Maid Type: Lolita Heroine
A quiet one with the gift of fire magic, she wears an odd Hairstyle- her hair hangs down and conceals one eye. Sadly, this maid also has an incurable disease. She became a maid because the master showed her a great kindness and she’s returning the favor, possibly until her time is up. When she gets mad or stressed out, she persistently teases the other maids in the manor.
Cheremy LeBeau rolled 17 6-sided dice: 1, 4, 1, 2, 6, 3, 4, 5, 6, 1, 3, 3, 4, 1, 3, 6, 3 Total: 56 (17-102)

1, 4,
1, 2,
6, 3,
4, 5,
6, 1,
3, 3,
4, 1,

3, 6, 3
This Maid's type is Lolita (young in looks or in heart, or just sweet or innocent) and Cool (a little standoffish, composed or cold)

She is a shapeshifter, a raven animal spirit in human form, because of this she can make black wings appear on her back when she wants. her face bears freckles and her hairstyle has that little antennae thing going on. It bobs about and seems to almost have a life of its own. During her duties, she carries a large battle axe easily with her wherever she goes.

She became a maid because she is in fact a distant relative to the master and decided to live with him. When she gets stressed out she often causes troublesome tricks on the maids and the other people in the mansion.

The other day, I came back from Gencon where we premiered the commercial release of Maid: The Role Playing Game. We sold out by Saturday afternoon, so it looks like the game is a bit of a hit.
