Now, this guide will show you the basics of the BB code to improve the aesthetics of your posts.

BB code is used for smileys, text size and color, pictures, links, and aligning.

These are just some of the most common uses.

Coloring your Text

Coloring your text is easy:

[color=*your color here*]*Your text here*[/color]

Just insert your color and text, and you have colorful text!

Some good examples:
Aqua
Red
Purple
Green

Resizing Text!

Resizing is probably one of the easiest things to do with BBCode!

[size=*your size here*]*Your text here*[/size]

Tiny text is size 7.

Normal text is size 12.

X-Large Text is size 24.

Note: You do NOT have to stop at 7-24, you can go as large or small as you like, but don't get too big, or people might get annoyed!

Smileys

Smileys: We all know how to use them. When you are typing your post, you click on the handsome little devil and his code pops up in your post! Simple. That's pretty much it for smileys.

It is also a good idea to go ahead and memorize the code for some of your favorite smileys, just so you don't have to consistently click it on the side.

Aligning your post is fun! Just follow these steps and you'll be the master of alignment!

[align=*Pick one:Left, Center, Right, Justify*]*your text here*[/align]

Normal text is on the left

This is center

And this is to the right

Images/URLs

Image and URL codes, like the smileys, can be found right in your posting screen at the top. You can just highlite the text you want and click the "URL" button to make a link anywhere you want. The code looks like this:

[url=*web address*]*your text here*[/url]

To add an image, , just click the "IMG" button and use the web address of the picture you want. The image code looks like this:

[img]*web address*[/img]

Links can be very helpful in assisting others, or linking to other important posts, and images are very helpful in decorating a post or thread.

Combining

Now comes the fun part. Along with using all of these normally, you can combine several of them. For example, you can make a size 24 text aligned to the center by using this code:

[align=center][size=24]*your text*[/size][/align]

Or you can post an image, and use the image as a link to a web page instead of text by using this code:

[url=*web address][img]*image web address*[/img][/url]

These can be very useful and fun to use. Be creative when posting and have fun with it.

Also, BB code is not limited to JUST forums. It can also be used in PMs, profile commenting, and even your signature. So try to memorize some of the codes and use them in different places.
