American animation- I've heard that it's considered better than Japanimation. This true? If yes, what makes it better? If not, what makes it worse? Personally, I believe that the anime of today is of higher and better quality than most to anything than the US of A can produce.
Am I right, or what?
Keep in mind, I'm looking for a discussion here. Not a fight.
*Side question*
The Ninja. What makes him so cool? What makes him so dumb? Give me your opinion of the Ninja, and if you like him or not.
Personally.. I believe Ninjas (Is that the correct plural of Ninja?? eek ) are intriguing and cool.
Disagree with me? Agree with me? Well?
Mountain Dew?

I don't really care which one is better than which.
I'm not much of a drawing style critic, for one thing. As long as the plot is interesting and doesn't drag on, I'll watch it.

I like ninja. They can sneak around. ninja
I believe Ninjas (Is that the correct plural of Ninja?? icon_eek.gif ) The plural of Ninja is Ninja.
Mountain Dew? Mello Yello. 3nodding

American animation is neither better nor worse than Japanese (or for that matter, any other country's) animation. For you see, the quality of the cartoon usually has next to nothing to do with where it was made. Japan has horrible cartoons and great cartoons, as does America and any other animation-producing country there is.
And pirates totally pwn those silly ninja anyday. pirate

In general, more American cartoons have good animation (higher frame rate, more accurate lip sinking, ect) but there are exceptions from both countries.

What kind of question is that? They're the same thing. The only difference between them is their country of origin!

HEY. MIZOKO.
..You didn't answer the side question. domokun
EDIT: And Clara? I dunno.. It's all about personal opinion. *Nod.* Pirates ARE pretty cool, but I prefer ninja to them. Miz- I apologize. I know you loathe ninja and their retarded stereotypical coolness, but I'm sorry.
*Sigh.* Perhaps I should've just stayed gone from the net, hmm?
..Nah. Not my style.

Like MTQ said, western ANIMATION is generally better because they use a higher frame rate than Japan, and don't take as many budget cutting short-cuts. Although when it comes to art, it really doesn't matter. Although I think western art is considerably underated, compared to the cookie cutter "Japanese style".

When it all comes down to boiling points, the creators, animator directors, and etc's ethnicity is not important and their creativity, skill, and ability are taken into play.
Just because Leonardo Di Vinci was Italian doesn't mean every piece of art from Italy isn't on the same level as his art.

I think it all depends on the viewer, whatever their personal preference/style is, it affects what they like. It also depends on the studios and what they're going for, storywise, who their target audience is, etc. All elements come together in that sense.
Example America: I like Daria, but don't really care for Spongebob Squarepants. Japan: I like Rurouni Kenshin, but don't really care for Evangelion. (Just my opinions, no haters please! sweatdrop )
*Side Question*
The Ninja. What makes him so cool? What makes him so dumb? Give me your opinion of the Ninja, and if you like him or not. I like ninja, except the really evil ones. xp

I'll watch anything that has a good storyline and doesn't look like it was drawn with MS paint.
