I was browsing the net when i came across this which disturbed me at how many countries BAN homosexuality, in public of course.

I knew there were some, but not THIS many.

Some Highlights:

1) Guyana - Male homosexuals only, illeagle and you get life in prison.
The only country in South America to be still illegal.

2) Trinidad and Tobago - 25 years

3) United Arab Emirates - Death

4)Saudi Arabia - Death; If they feel sorry for you, they will only beat you senseless.

5) Bangladesh - Life in Prision or Death

6) Somalia - Death

I was really amazed that so many countries ban homosexuality, let alone kill them! It's terrible, they fight for the right to get married here, when in Somalia they would die because of it sweatdrop

Odd, my other half was watching a documentary about gays last night. The countries you listed - it doesn't surprise me. Does Somalia even have a government?

It always amazes me when an individual doesn't think twice about women voting and holding jobs and blacks being able to use the same bathrooms as whites. But, let a gay person be gay, no can do.

But again, it's not a surprising list. Saudi Arabia has just banned walking dogs because they don't want men to become attractive to women. (Oh noes!)

No, Somalia's government failed in 1991 i think.
I honestly didnt know people still died over being gay, i thought we came farther as homosapiens.

And wow, banning dog walking? Bloody ridiculous..
They want to keep the sexes apart, do they not know what has to happen to make babies?

I don't expect much from countries with fallen of corrupt governments. confused

I am quite proud of the area I live in with regards to homosexuality. There's Gay Ski Week which the entire town is quite welcoming (though I wish I could say the same about some of the visitors). The larger city in the area has two gay districts, the "official" one with the rainbow flag flying on the street posts.

I'm sorry if my ideas my offend but I don't really believe in homosexuality. I believe that we're born the way we are for a reason, but I don't got completely against it. I'm not going to kill someone for it, or beat them senseless, I'm not even going to walk up to them and tell them what I think of homosexuality. I like gay people and homosexual people and respect their wishes. I'm just not completely whole with the whole idea.

Yes, I do agree though that I don't expect much from fallen or corrupt government officials, but I expect a lot from the people. It makes me feel real sad when you see these people with such a great history and yet they have such shattered spirits.

No worries. :3 It'd be a terrible place if we all liked and believed in the same thing. It's more about on how you go about talking about your beliefs.

If you don't mind me asking - your beliefs are that you a born straight and then once chooses to be gay? I'm always curious about those who have opposite beliefs of my own. :3

I was going to more into how the people need to shape their government, but I tend to go off on rants.

Then again, maybe that's why the U.S. is so overpopulated--men and women are around each other too much xd

But seriously.. They don't want different genders to be around each other, but they're against homosexuality? Are they completely trying to shun all natural urges? gonk

Some people worry me...

It's not just countries and governments, there are extremists anywhere you go. These extremists are not just against homosexuality but those who support it as well. Why last week we almost had a debacle from some extremist homophobic US protester group.

There was a horrible murder in my province and then this week this insane group of protesters were threatening to come protest at the funeral!

Here's an excerpt from the local newspaper...
"The Westboro protesters had threatened to picket the funeral with the message that the victims death was God's punishment for Canada's policies that enable homosexuality and abortion. They never came, following promises by the Winnipeg Police Service anyone disrupting the funeral would be facing arrest. Several members of the group were also turned away from the Canadian border Thursday after Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day issued an alert. Then, in case there were any that showed up the day of the funeral, starting around 1 p.m., Winnipeggers crammed the sidewalks of the lush Westwood street in a peaceful blockade to stop any protesters."

I was so mad when I found out because first off it's a funeral and that is insanely disrespectful, secondly the murder was no way connected with homosexuality or abortion and thirdly doesn't the bible teach love and understanding? I'm proud that our country supports the rights of homosexuals.

Now, in no way is Canada without it's extremists either! As I said, they are sadly everywhere. This example is just burned into my memory right now.

Wow, Day actually did something decent.

I couldn't believe that there would be protesters at that funeral. I'm very happy to hear that the RCMP put out those arrest warnings and none of them showed up.
