ACTUALLY TIME TO TOTALLY RANDOMIZE THE FIELD~
(after totally not rolling before D8 totally deleted that post and totally not doing that again. Totally.)
A large screen towered over the stadium. A spinner with twelve different battle field locations displayed on the screen, waiting to be choosen. One of the trainers jumps to the control room and presses a big green button to start up the spinner. The screenshots of each battlefield light up as they are passed by the spinner. Finally, the light stops on a picture of a palm tree...
THE SEASHORE FIELD!
Split down the middle between land and sea, this field compliments land and water type pokemon. On the west end of the field is the land section: fine grained sand gradually slopes downward to meet the salt water on the east end of the battleground. A single palm tree wavers lightly in the breeze (the stadium ceiling is open when this field is selected) while shells are scattered in random places in and on the sand. In the water half of the battleground, the water laps at the sand much like at a real beach; when it retracts it leaves behind strands of seaweed and pieces of coral. Both are found under the water, offering shelter for water-types (or those who can hold their breath for great periods of times).

Kazuki stepped up to the west half of the field, staring down at the sandy beach. He didn't know how the stadium could achieve such a realistic setting, but it didn't matter. He still didn't know why in the world Ryou wanted to battle all of a sudden. When he first put forth the idea, the dark-type threatened to bite his arm off.
The truth was, the umbreon did not like the fact he'd grown lazy and docile since leaving Inhinx. He wasn't as alert, as prepared, as quick or agile as he once was. He'd been slipping, and that was unacceptable. He trotted forward from his trainer's half of the stadium, his strides confident and..short, due to his height, but they were quick all the same. He stopped near the palm tree, staring at the opposite end of the field. "Bre!" He called, flicking his ears back. He was ready.
Now, to see their opponent.

 Kayla strided into the coliseum and took a deep breath of the smell of the salty air of the psudeo-beach. She enjoyed these pleasant fields since she had little chance of seeing all scenories such as this for a long while from now or if ever.
The trainer walked onto the platform and was risen to a certain high for the battle. The moment Kayla reached to the top, she tossed out a pokeball, which released a girafarig named, Hea, who look the field in strides. It was her first time in a seashore field and it interested her greatly. "Brriii..." She started to lower herself to sniff the salty water since it didn't smell like the water she normally sees. Hea tried to drink but choked a bit, in surprise at the flavor.
Kayla smiled in amusement. "Come on, Hea. We got a battle to do."
Hea looked up to the other side of the field to find a umbreon watching her antics. Licking the remains of the salty water, Hea trotted to her end of the field, signaling that she was ready too. Quote: 1000/1000 XD I know. ^__~ edit: My infamous luck is starting. XDDD;;;

The blue-eyed trainer waved to his opponent across the field, a friendly good luck sort of gesture, before turning his full attention onto the scarred umbreon before him. "Ryou! Start this off with a confuse ray!"
"Bre!" The dark-type replied, as his eyes and rings began to glow an odd, dark blue. A sudden flash erupted from the petite pokemon as he loosed the ray of light, hoping to confuse his opponent.
HP: 1000/1000
((Okay, just making sure XD ...plus saying it for my own benefit, because I have to ask FFN before every battle D8;;; ))

Kayla and Hea watched as Ryou started off with a confusion ray. Kayla knew that she had to prevent Hea from looking at the umbreon. "Hea, don't look at Umbreon! Look away!" However, the girafarig was too curious of the strang blue rings that started to glow and got the full effect of the attack.
The trainer gritted her teeth in frustration as Hea started to sway and criss-crossing her hooves as she was swaying from side to side. Hea stumbled a few times to the right, then forward.
"Hea, get a grip and use Rock Smash!"
Hea was coherent enough to understand the attack and started to charge at Ryou. "Brriiii..." When she got closer, her vision started to worsen in her confusion and reared up at the sight of many Ryous standing there.
Kayla prayed that the attacked goes pass the confusion.

The dark-type easily dodged the obviously confused giraffe.....thing, and whirled around in the sand, focusing on the psychic-type's aura.
"Dark pulse!" His trainer called, feeling bad that Hea had hurt herself. That was how battles went though, so he'd save the guilt and sympathy for later.
"Bre!" Ryou replied, his rings glowing blue once more while his eyes had remained the deep blue, before he surrounded himself with a dark aura. It pulsated there for a few moments before he sent it spilling out over the arena, waiting as it rippled out and headed straight for Hea.

"Come on, Hea! Snap out of it!" Kayla cried out to the confused girafarig. Hea could barely hear her trainer as she attempted to clear her head by shaking her head but no good. She still kept seeing multiples of Ryou and was unsure which is the real one.
"Let's keep trying! Use Rock Smash!" Kayla commanded desparately. They need a hit of some kind and they need it now!Quote: 750/1000 2/3 Confusion My life sucks...this sucks. XDDD;

Kazuki sighed as the psychic-type didn't hurt herself, but that was alright, they could work on that. "Ryou, dodge it and use shadow ball!"
He didn't need any encouragement from his trainer on that score, and the dark-type easily dodged the attack. He swerved around the palm tree and stopped, spraying sand behind him, before several balls of dark energy swelled and swirled around him. A few moments later he shot them out, sending them hurtling towards Hea.

Kayla was about to sigh in both relief and in resign for the fact that Hea had managed to not attack herself and the fact that Hea's attack was a complete miss.
Before Kayla could think of a plan to give them a chance to win this Hea was suddenly mowed over by a shadow ball. "Hea!" Kayla cried out when Hea skidded to their side of the field again. "Are you alright?"
Hea could barely hear her trainer but attempted to reply. "Brriii..."
"Come on, let's stop this right now! Use Thunder!" They have to make this work or this will be sure finishes their demise in shame. The umbreon have yet to have any damage on himself and it grated on Kayla's nerves.
Hea tried to listen to her trainer's command and started the dark clouds above the stadium as lightening and thunder started to form. When it was finish building up, Hea released a lightening bolt down on umbreon. Quote: [450/1000] [3/3 Confusion] I don't like you or your umbreon anymore. D< -goes into a corner of woe- 1 dice= If it works or I attack myself.
2 dice= If attack works.
3 dice= How long. edit: I hate my life. =__=

The scarred umbreon smirked and jumped out of the way as the lightning crashed into the sand, completely unaffected. He was enjoying this battle very much, indeed.
"Good job, Ryou!" The short trainer called, and the dark-type snorted at the amount of praise. What was he, Basil or something? Ick. "Try another shadow ball!"
Oh well, no time to think on it now. The blind pokemon growled as dark balls of energy swirled around him, growing in size before he loosed them, sensing them shooting towards the girafarig.

Hea's confusion had finally disappated as her attacked caused her to injure herself. She shook her head to clear the remains of the confusion.
"Let's keep it this way, Hea! Use Thunder again!"
"Brriiiiinng Brriii!" Hea charged again at the umbreon and dodged another shadow ball before sparking another thunder from the sky and now from her stumps on her head and took aim at RyouQuote: 350/1000 edit: Mother freakin' s**t....=__= -basically gives up-

The blind pokemon rolled out of the way easily, thankful for being able to avoid all her attacks so far, although it was too bad that she hadn't. He didn't feel too bad about that though.
"Another shadow ball!" The blue-eyed trainer commanded; hopefully it wouldn't miss this time, although he did feel bad for Hea and her trainer. A battle was no place for sympathy, he reminded himself again, and forced it to the back of his mind as he watched his scarred umbreon.
Said dark-type growled as, once again, balls of dark energy whirled around him and swiftly grew in size before he shot them towards the psychic-type, a bit irritated that she wasn't confused anymore. Oh well, perhaps later.

"Damn!" Kayla gritted her teeth again as she watch another of Hea's attack was a miss. Oh well. It looks like Hea's first battle will be a loss but they couldn't give up!
"We have got to keep trying! Thunder again! Full Power!"
Hea was then hit with another shadow ball and this time it had made contact. Hea was blasted across the field again, who slowly got up from where she laid. "Briiii..." Hea charged up another lightening show and took another careful aim at umbreon. They have got to paralyize Ryou now or they will lose for sure! Quote: 200/1000 XD I'm not too upset. It's all a matter of luck. XP Again, I hate my luck. T___T XP edit again; You cut a deal with the dice gods didn't you!? D<
