Dead Kennedys over everything, but I like a smattering of Crass (Feeding of the 5000) and the first Clash album.

I find it kinda funny how much they talk about killing people and people dying. I haven't heard much Crass. But I hear they're good. The first Clash album rocks.

hm....punk eh? I liked the ramones and the sex pistols, I stopped listening to them. I'm not too into it.......especially new bands because 99.9999999% of them suck. Thats just how I feel.........

Graham, you should check out mp3s of the threads you see here. Most of them are "punk rock", although many of them are modern Japanese punk rock, and might not be your style. I love DK and Crass. scream But latley the Locust and Melt Banana have been kicking my a**. This could be a lazy observation but, it seems like it's a great era for punk music, but not so good for punk lyricism. Maybe young lyricists are more attracted to hiphop these days...

The Locust are pretty good. They fall under my exceptiomn catergry. I like Heavy Medication the most. But that's the only song on my pc, so I listen to it more than the others, maybe why I like it more >.< I love how they're sound is very rich, alot of bass and lower octaves formt he guitars, like that. *nods* not fond of the singers too muhc, but they are tolerable and the lyrics aren't to terribly bad.

Nalfein I love Green Day. biggrin They're up for like 7 Grammy nominations. 3nodding Hmm, I love Melt-Banana, but they're pretty experimental and noise. Not many punk fans (esp. those who like DK, Clash, Pistols, etc) may like them. It's an acquired taste, IMO. As for Sex Pistols, I like Never Mind the Bollocks. 3nodding

To me, the only Sex Pistols song that has withstood the test of time is their cover of I'm Not Your Stepping Stone. Everything else is bollocks cause you've heard it a million times and everyone's done it and it's not worth anything anymore.

I have a thing for Brit accents, Johnny Rotten's voice, especially. Plus their music in Bollocks is so anthemic. Ditto for Crass.
