Cherry yawned as she pulled on her pajama shirt and slipped beneath the newly-washed sheets. Oh, there was nothing more comfortable than soft and clean sheets. She smiled to herself and pulled her canopy closed, laying down on her back and slipping away with her hand clasped protectively over the amulet around her neck.

As she drifted off, her soul began to float above her body. There was a ghostly version of the relic upon her neck, and the soft glow it was emitting warmed her spiritual chest. As she opened her eyes, she was faced with a large brown door.....floating against her closed curtains like it belonged there. And the damn relic was beckoning her towards it.

Cherry touched her relic, confused, and then peered back at herself. A dream, then. This had to be a dream. She approached the door in her canopy (she would later reflect on how bizarre that was) and opened it slowly, frightened about what may be behind it.

She had every reason to be frightened. On the other side of the door was what seemed to be a dungeon. It was empty save for a lone.....thing....tied to one of the racks. It was a horned centipede thing and the relic seemed to be dragging her toward the monstrosity, beckoning her to lay a hand on the lifeless - but not quite dead - figure.

Cherry gave a little yelp and shuffled forward. No, she didn't want to touch it...but oh! Oh, it told her to touch it!
She reached a finger out, it hovering mere inches by its belly. A moment. Two. Touch!

As soon as the touch landed, the figure and the relic began to glow brightly. Quite suddenly, as if it had never been a solid soul-object, the relic shot from her neck and into the mass, starting a strange sequence of events. First, the glow increased, and then, slowly, the shape started to shrink. It shrunk and it shrunk until finally...the glow stopped and revealed something else. A small baby...was it a boy or a girl?...was staring up at her. The creature was quite strange, that was for sure, with it's four weird eyes - how DID it see out of those - and it's four arms - the sets of which didn't even match! Such an odd odd baby.

At first, Cherry was ready to scream. Then she realized that this was the baby she had been promised, frightened or not.
"Oh, honey..." she cooed and picked the thing up, "What a cute little bogey."
The baby burbled and grabbed two fistfuls of hair. Awww.
"Bogey? You like that?"
Another burble.

As she claimed the child, the final part of the reaction occured: The door she'd entered through - which had vanished soon as she'd gone through it - had reappeared, wide open. On the other side was her body and the relic on her body was gone. Instead, there was just the baby, laying against her. The two were now drawn back into their respective bodies and allowed to wake up.
