What had Jasper gotten himself into this time? Eveything had started out as a normal day, or as normal as it gets when your part cookie part crazy sun sucking Pokemir. It was a bright day, so he had a slight glow to his whole body, taking in the run as he walked around. Yes, he'd adopted one weird talent from his mother.
Of course, today was topping all that! He'd found himself in a fairly...odd, fairytale like situation. He was in the middle of an open meadow and all around him, dark red eyes stared at him. Bushes around the perimeter of his little meadow shook and Jasper crouched down into a defensive position. He couldn't help that he tasted too yummy to resist! He was a cookie after all...

She stopped in her tracks when she came to a beautiful meadow. She forgot the scent for a moment, and looked around her. She didn't know something so beautiful existed in the middle of the forest. It so peaceful and serene, almost...magical. And then, she noticed something else. A namir, crouched in the middle of the meadow. She breathed in, this time catching the scent again, only stronger. She hadn't expected the scent to lead her to a namir. Or maybe it was coming from somewhere else. She crouched low to the ground and snuck closer, adding another pair of red eyes that watched him.

Jasper growled lightly now, noticing an other pair of hungry looking eyes staring him down. He was sure, all the eyes on him now would just love to take a bite of him and he really hated it. He'd talked to his father once, about being edible. Kukki had informed him that being a cookie was rather fun an enjoyable!
Yet, here he was! In the middle of a Meadow, surrounded by creatures that would surely love to eat him right up. It didn't help that the smell of his chocolate skin was only inviting more gruesome creatures by the second. He crouched even lower to the grounds his bright blue eyes scanned for any exit. He could make out a small break in the form, as someone sneaked closer to him.
"Back off!" He warned, keeping his voice surprisingly calm an serious, a trait he obvious got from his mother.

Mariko stopped at his harsh warning, and then she noticed the other pairs of eyes lining the edges of the clearing. She didn't know what it was they wanted from him, but she was suddenly frightened for him. She also noticed that her presence was not helping, and that to him, she was just as threatening as the other pairs of eyes that watched him. She sat up slowly, and began to back away, her eyes darting between each menacing pair of eyes. She hoped that her own eyes didn't give off the same glare. Her eyes may be the same color, but she was sure that they were softer, kinder.
Once she was backed away from the namir in the center, she crouched down again, this time defensively and stared down the creatures that were watching him, and now her.

Jasper watch one pair of eyes back off, and glare at the other's. Suddenly, he felt the mistake he had made. These eyes were different and she didn't smell quite as horrible as the other who were watching him, not starting to close in. He glanced around nervously for a second and then made a dash for the other girl, she had no idea what danger she was in!
"You'd be smart to run with me!" He said, dashing off though the forest, he could hear several other pacing after him, he just had to hope, the one pair of eyes that wasn't going to eat him, could pass him soon. His body was gaining more of a glow with every passing second.

Mariko stared as he ran by and then her eyes widened as he was followed. She ran after him, catching up to him quickly.
"Are you crazy?!" she shouted, "what was the point in making them chase you?"
She glanced behind her now and then, waiting for them to get closer, prepared to blast them with scolding water if she had to. Not that it would do much, but it would hold them off.

The point of getting them to follow him, was so they'd ll be closer together. He didn't feel like blasting only one of them away and then being mauled by the rest of them. He glanced over at his new company and smiled lightly. She seemed pretty caught up in the current moment, Jasper had learned from his father life was about looking toward the future. And, in Jasper's hopeful future he was alive and not missing a chunk of his Cookie-self.
"I prefer to call it strategic!" He said, stopping in his track and spinning around. Time to use that talents he'd been given by his mother. I it wasn't obvious that he'd been glowing before it was now, as he turned to face these dangerous Namir. If opened his mouth, like he was going to actually talk to them, but instead, a bright beam came out and blinded anyone behind them, and also gave them quite a shock.
Her smirked and turned back around to catch up with his new company.

"What?" Mariko said, trying to figure out what he was planning. She almost fell on her face in surprise as he suddenly stopped and turned around. She turned around with him, finally realizing his plan. He was going to fight them, and she wasn't going to let him do it alone.
Before she could manage anything, she noticed his body glow bright, and then a huge beam shoot from his mouth. She stared in disbelief and then said to him, "Well...looks like you don't need my help then...what was that?"

Jasper glanced back, to make sure they'd given up the chase, even if he knew they'd be back. He'd been running from them for a while, on and off. Life was never really dull these days. After he was positive they were all gone, he turned back to face his company. A bright, teasing, smile a spread across his face. He was obviously enjoying himself, ven though he'd been close to death. Not that the danger was over, he could be more himself.
"That, was a gift from mother. Solar Beam, Just like Nazzy can manipulate fire! And Shani can too! Dulcie...I'm not sure what she's capable of! Hyper...and spazzy is what she does best!" He explained his family situation swiftly. He really had a very...odd family and boy, did his mom have an odd past too!
"Anyway! I'm Jasper! Pleasure to meet you...?" He said, trailing off his sentence in the form of a question.

Mariko stared at him, a grin tugging at the corner of her mouth. It was clear to her that this was just a game to him. She liked his enthusiasm now, not to mention that Solar Beam was pretty awesome.
"Mariko," she said, finishing his sentence for him. She wasn't sure what he had been talking about before, family perhaps, but there were other things about him that caught her interest presently.
"Why were those guys chasing you?" she asked him.

Jasper nodded his head when she told him her name. At least he didn't have to think of her as 'company' anymore. That could get really annoying! He couldn't help but notice how different she was, compared to the normal Namir, but he shoot his head of that question for now, even though Interrogation was his specialty!
He head out his paw at her next question. "Come on, you obviously smell it too!" He said, referring to his chocolate goodness. "Well...I've been running from this certain group of Namrah for a while now. They're...well it's hard to explain. They want me to join them, and I absolutely refuse! It's kinda like...join or...be eaten?" He said, sighing lightly. And now he'd dragged this poor girl into the mess with him.

Mariko tilted her head and eyed him curiously. So it was the namir that was giving off that delicious scent. She had almost forgotten about it until now. She leaned towards him a little and took a deep breath.
"You do smell wonderful..." she admitted, "but I still don't get why they were chasing you..." She stopped and thought about the last part of his statement. "Wait...what?" She shook her head in disbelief. "EAT you? They want to...eat you? Wow..." she breathed. He did smell delicious...but she'd never thought of eating another namir before. That was ridiculous.

Jasper shrugged his shoulder lightly, like it was no big deal. It really wasn't though, he'd been dealing with them for a while now, it was to bad they didn't get the hint and would just leave him be! At first, they had just wanted him to join because he smelled so wonderful, but after they'd discovered his little talent, they were determined to make him join their little group. Collectors, that's what he thought of them as. He'd just be another pretty jewel in their collection.
"The weird thing is, I am edible, just like my father. Weird how those things happen right? And thanks! Smelling wonderful is a compliment I like, I just hate being told I taste wonderful..." He said, sighing lightly. There was a movement in a bush near by and he growl lightly, only to discover a small squirrel. Okay...maybe this was making him a little paranoid.

She giggled as his opponent happened to be a little squirrel. "Very nice...you scared him away, I don't think he'll try to eat you," she teased.
She then continued their conversation, a hint of harmless teasing still in her tone. "So you mean to tell me that you do taste as good as you smell?" She laughed and then asked him a more serious question. "So who are these guys, why do they want you to join them? ....if you don't mind me asking."

Jasper rolled his eyes at her as she mention scaring the squirrel. At least it wasn't something he wouldn't be able to scare away. He knew he could hold off the Collectors for only so long. They'd catch him eventually, he wasn't the only one with a special talent in the world. He stuck his tongue out at her. "I'm probably the yummiest thing you'd ever eat!" His voice sounded sarcastic, but he was serious.
"Hmmm...If I tell you..I have to warn you. You'll be chased down, just like I'm being chased. But, they won't give you an option. No one is supposed to know they exist, and once you know. They'll hunt you down and I don't think they'll give you a choice. They'll destroy you without a second glance." He gave her a fair warning, he didn't want to force her to live like he was.
