Tama was nervous. Shiri had said he'd needed to meet the king or one of the council members. But...couldn't she have come with him? No...she had other things to do. He took a deep breath and shook himself. He'd be big and brave for his new mother! And thus he began his search for the king. It must have looked strange, the little white cub asking around.

He learned the king's name (which he was pretty sure Shiri mentioned...but he'd forgotten), and the general direction he seemed to be in...But hadn't found him yet. So when he spotted another lion, he hoped this one would know where the king was.

"'Cuse me, sir...Do you know where I could find King Simi? My new mother said I had to meet him."

Simi's face had grown from mild shock to one of good humor. The young king had finally slipped into a normal pattern, and he was spending most of his days mingling with his pridemates if he wasn't set up in meetings with the council. He'd take socializing over those meetings any day, but he also knew that they were vitally important to the welfare of the lands.

He chuckled once his shock had dissipated, shaking his head slightly. "Your mother, hm? Was there something that you wanted to ask him? Cubs don't normally going out of their way to speak to him, y'know." He decided to try a different way to talk, act as if he was just any other pride member. Being a king was stifling at times, with some of the newer members so nervous over meeting him.

Tama nodded. "Mother said that I needed to see him to really stay here. She would be with me...but she's a hunter, so she's gotta help out." The nervous-feeling tried eating at him again...and he banished it again. He thought of how calm he was, waiting for his mother or the important things his mother spoke of. "So I'm trying to find him. I don't even know what he looks like though, other than he has a mane 'cause he's grown-up."

Tama sighed. "Can you tell me what he looks like?"

"Hmmmm, let me think for a moment." The lion paused, letting his eyes seem to space out for a moment before he looked back down at the cub with a soft smile. "He's certainly got a mane. It's a deep reddish colour, fully grown out. He'd brown like a lot of the Pridelanders, so he blends in well. Here's the trick, though." He leaned in closely to the cub. "He's got a spot on hsi back like his father, so you just need to look for that."

He pulled himself back up again, looking smug. "So there you go! That's what he looks like." His tail twitched behind him as he held in his laughter. Cubs, as he was quickly learning, were much to fun and too much of a blessing, as well.

Tama blinked. Wait a second...He looked at the lion carefully. Maybe....maybe this lion was the king! He had a big spot on his back...And the mane color and fur color matched. At the least, maybe he was related! And that would certainly help!

Tama smiled. "How big is the spot?"

Simi grinned. He was catching on, and this was reall entertaining him. He let his eyes wander towards the sky, as if he really had to remember it. "Oh, it's pretty big. Perhaps the size of his back or something?"

He let his eyes linger up at the sky, admiring the blueness of it. Was this how his mother felt, knowing that she was giving someone a new chance on life living here? It was a good feeling, though a mixture of sadness always irritated his heart when he thought of her. Hopefully she would be all right....

He tore himself away to look back down at the pure white cub. He certainly wouldn't be staying like that for long, not as a cub! "Does that help you at all? Think you can find him?"

So...he was! Tama grinned brightly. "I think that helps a lot, King Simi." He did, of course, feel a little stupid for not guessing it from the beginning...but he acted like any other pride member...kind and welcoming with a love of life in his voice.

"I'm Tama'sindikiza." He gave a rather clumsy cub-bow. He'd need to work on that...

"Aaaah," simi said, wincing a bit. He still carried a smile on his face, but he did feel a little embarassed. "Simi is just fine," he corrected gently. He felt...old when someone called him king, and he knew that he wasn't old! He still had a long time to live, and knew he'd see many more paws approach him, looking for a place to call home.

He bowed his head in return to the cub's bow of kindness. Was respect in one so young. Surely he could rub some of it off to some certain cubs he had seen romping around.

"May I ask who your mother is, though?" It was interesting for a cub to ask to stay, but not a mother...unless she was already living here.

Tama nodded. To be hoenst...King sounded weird to him. And though the lion before him was regal...King just somehow...didn't quite fit.

"The Huntress Shiri took me in, Simi." And he hoped he could stay with her. She was such a kind lioness...and she had a smile much like her son's. And Dakarai was, in Tama's mind, a perfect older brother.

Simi let his mind toss around that name for a moment. It seemed so familiar. A simple name, but one that he- ah!

"Aaaah, I know of her," he said, nodding his head. "I've met her mother, Memetuka before. Which meeeans," he said with a smile, "though indirectly, you'll be related to me. Memetuka is my great aunt." He chuckled. "Welcome to the family. You'll never escape it, since it seems as large as the world itself!"

While Simi was exaggerating, there was certainly some truth in his words. The royal line of the Pridelands was quite large, and spanned into many different areas.

Tama made an 'o' with his mouth, blue eyes wide. Really?! Wow...His smile returned.

"Really? So...That means I can stay?" And...his family was BIGGER than he thought. Oh wow...his new family was big when it was just Shiri and her cubs and the hares...But even more family! It was almost more than the cub could take in. He'd gone from having a single mother and no sibs, to having a giant family! His mother had been right to leave him here so Shiri could take him in.

"Of course. Just don't get into too much trouble. We sure don't need more of that." They had lots of cubs around (though thankfully not as bad when he was younger), and so adding in one more wouldn't be too bad. He seemed like a good kid.

"Now, go and tell your mother, I'm sure she'll be most excited. And say hello to Memetuka if you see her for me." He shooed the cub off, knowing that his business was done, and that Tama would be most excited to tell his mother about it.

Tama didn't bother hiding his joy. He jumped up and pranced about with a yelp of elation, then grinned at the King. "Thank you SOOOOO much! I'll be good! I promise!" With that, he took off towards the family den. He could stay! His Mom would be so happy! And he could run around ALL he wanted with Dakarai and Tuli now!
