Love them, hate them, or only like your own?
Personally... I don't like very many original characters mixed it with Trigun. Typically they're under-developed or just don't mesh well with everything. Plus you have the whole mary/gary sue thing out there still. I'm not saying everyone's character is crap but you have to admit a lot of them just... I don't know.
I'm a really picky person. D=

I hate OC pairings, usually. Most of the time it's just some stupid Mary Sue, and they're usually exactly the same.

Most yaoi is written/read by straight women who want to see some romance, but don't want to go the Mary Sue route. If no female characters are available, they use the males. That's how the original slash fic started ... with Kirk and Spock.

Erm, I don't write fanfiction with Mitsuki the Ninja x Vash [I only write crackfics and stuff] but I imagine it in my head all the time~

I don't like self-insert or mary-sue fiction with main characters paired with an OC.
In fact, It infuriates me.
I actually have an OC that I play with my GF in Trigun RP that has been going on for at least 4 years now non-stop. That OC is very close to me, and so whenever I read that stuff, it makes me feel like someone is stealing my GF (Who plays Vash :/).

Why would anyone WRITE fan fiction anyways........ Fan fiction, almost every one out there, sucks. No offense to the people who've actually written fan-fiction on this guild, but it's safe to say that if Nightow-san read your stories, he'd probably give you a "wtf" look.

I think it's fine unless the person like, takes over the entire storyline for their own purposes. And the character is never hurt or killed and lives happily ever after every single time.
But I dunno, my OC is about as important as as any other side-character, then drops to no importance at all, then dies. And on top of that no directional love interest. So, can't really say much of anything there. x.o
