[ A futuristic RP between Rein and me, PGM, since we are running around trying to get our plot to catch up with the fast growing kiddies. LOL. ]

"Kyuubi," Naruto said, his sky blue eyes dancing with amusement, "I think that's the first time I've actually seen you mess up a hunt. You're supposed to be expert, aren't you?" The blond-haired stallion was shaking with mirth. Uzumaki Naruto had grown in maturity since the latest incident (in his mind, anyway) that had happened; these days, it was obvious to all that Naruto's "mask of idiocy" had vanished. His eyes now held a wisdom that was seldom seen a young adult male stallion just getting out into the world...

...But then, Naruto had always been an adult; after all, he'd been forced to mature at a very, very young age. His memories were still slightly sketchy, coming and going lately; sometimes he felt he was living in a dream world rather than the current reality he was feeling. He was a horse, now, not a human; how it happened, neither he nor his rival and best friend, Sasuke, knew. He grinned widely as the fox-wolf scowled at him. "Aw, c'mon! You have to admit it's a first!"

Kyuubi growled irritably as his stomach growled; yes, Naruto had seen him completely and totally screw up in his hunting today. Now, he had an empty, unsatisfied, unhappy stomach to gain from that, and it only made him more irritable. All in good fun, though; Naruto meant no harm in his comment, and he did admit it; he was off his game today. "Oh, shut up, Naruto," he muttered. "You know all too well we're not all perfect!"

"We can't all be perfect now can we?" came a voice of familiarity yet strange to both stallion and companion. Smiling she stood twice her usual size with a softness that bloomed into adulthood with her features and attitude. Dressed in her father's clothing she moved smoothly toward the Duo.

"Long time no see gentleman. I see somethings never change and yet a lot has.. don't you agree?" she mused winking at them with her exposed crimson eye. Even through her spurt of maturity, Kunai still wore her headband like she always had.

"Seen Sasuke sensei lately?" she teased her blond teacher but yet she was being serious since she knew how close they really were. Sasuke being the stubborn one never admitting things amused her how open he really left himself. All three of them including the wolves had budded into beautiful blooms that now were looking upon the world in a different light.

Nosing toward Kyuubi she nuzzled him with a reassuring breath, "You'll do better next time because you don't give up. Reminds me of two teachers you and I know really well. Don't you think?" she winked to the wolf then turned to admire how the stallion Naruto had really grown. He probably thought the same about her as well.

"...!" He cursed under his breath in surprise as he turned, spying a beautiful familiar yet unfamiliar mare come their way. Naruto blinked once, twice... thrice as he tried to figure out what was going on. It clicked. Twice. He stared at the beautiful mare, too surprised to say much more than the curse words he had already spilled in his surprise. If even Kyuubi hadn't sensed her, then it only meant...! "Kunai!?!" He said, thoroughly amazed. "Is that you, kid?" he kept asking, disbelief in his expression as well as admiration.

She reminded him of Kakashi-sensei, oddly enough. He wondered why she reminded him of his first cel teacher, Jounin Hatake Kakashi, but then brushed the thought aside for later reflection. Obviously she was probably an orphan, and held no more resemblance other... than... oh, s**t. It occurred to Naruto that he and Sasuke might not be the only ones from Konoha, then and there. We can't be the only ones to have made it here... something's definitely going on... However, Naruto was too busy admiring Kunai's adulthood to really give such an idea much thought; he was quite thrilled and relieved to see his student healthy and doing well.

He frowned suddenly as she teased him lightly. "No, actually, I haven't seen the Uchiha around lately. He kinda went and disappeared like you did... I think the guy was probably moping." He winked as he smirked. "Must've missed you lots, eh, kid?" Probably shouldn't called her "kid" anymore, huh? he thought to himself. Not that he called Kunai "kid" often--normally it was names like "cutiepie" and "sweetie" but there were times Naruto's "adultness" came through--it was just he felt like teasing her, for old time's sake. Sorta.

"Kunai," Kyuubi greeted, returning her nuzzle with a strange shy smile. "You've grown beautifully, little one," he commented. He snorted. "Of course, little one--you know I'll still call you that, right?--I don't plan to go hungry for long!" He declared, chuckling delightedly. "If you've grown this awesome, it's a wonder Uzumaki has at all! Hahahaha!" he insulted Naruto as per usual, not that it would hurt the stallion. "Aye," he answered Kunai's "reminding" of two teachers with a dry tone. "One of them I feel like I know too well to sometimes see he can be a teacher... the other one's... well, you know." He grinned his fox grin.

Was he smitten over her she giggled to herself. His eyes were so big yet he carried such an adult attitude even his words and sentences held more maturity. He was quite handsome which made her blush almost wondering if Sasuke had budded into a striking magnificent creation like Naruto. Clearing her throat she tried forgetting her approaching feminine feelings about her teachers. She knew differently and wanted the best for them both. Still... being an adult now opened a doorway to a new possibilities and emotions. Something new that she was going to have to get used to rather she wished it or not.

"Of course its me Naruto.. Ah I mean Naruto Sensei" she corrected herself as she was much younger than both and still she held great respect as her father drilled it within her head daily. While Konoha was reading books he shouldn't Kunai's heart stayed dedicated to her training.

She mused trying to hide the tinge in her cheeks conversing with Kyuubi. "A fine hunter indeed you are. I think the same of Sharingan as well since you two are so alike. Of course you have your differences but I know you two are really close and bonded together as are Sasuke and Naruto sensei. I remember that day so fluidly and yet though it makes me sad I smile you all returned to each other.... And I am awesome? Oh I don't mind you calling me little one... hee hee compared to Naruto and sasuke sensei I am little" She stood so tall yet the movement of her head was graceful as the flowers that shifted in a waltz to each passing breeze. Eyes soft with a deepness speaking in mature thoughts she began realizing how adulthood changes an individual.
Still her giggle was prominent showing there still lied a child within her interior.

"Moping? Oh you can't be serious that Sasuke sensei would be worried over little old me. Naruto sensei you are too jovial in your words about him. No he probably was glad I left.. but I..." she paused catching herself, "just had things to settle and figure out. I'm sorry I left for so long. I think I worried Mother and father and after dad gave me my headband... I should of told them where I was going..." The mare hung her head a little ashamed that Kakashi had wondered where she'd gone off and on. But, she was good at lies and generally told a fib to pass over the wise ninja's eyes, which he believed her truthfully.

He was amused she still called him 'sensei' when he was no longer her teacher. He had stopped being her teacher, he had assumed, when she had vanished, making both he and Sasuke think she had given up on her training. This thought had devastated Naruto at best, destroyed him at worst at the thought that his own pupil had abandoned everything... but now he saw that she had probably gone away to be with her family...

...But she didn't have to be gone that long! ...Did she? "You don't have to call me 'sensei', anymore, you know," he amended. "It's okay to just call me Naruto. I'm not your teacher anymore." Not that, he realized, he actually taught her anything; it was all Sasuke. "In fact, you probably shouldn't have ever called me that," he continued quietly as he spoke his thoughts aloud. "I don't think I ever really taught you anything; at least, not anything worth the importance of being called 'sensei'."

She moved fluidly, reminding him of his old teacher, Kakashi-sensei, once more. What was it about her that was making him see Kakashi-sensei all of a sudden? Kakashi-sensei couldn't be here; not in this world! Kunai was unique, Naruto thought; she was probably the only other ninja besides him and Sasuke; a young one, but still. It wasn't possible for Kakashi to be here... right?

"Wait, what?"

He refocused on Kunai as the words "close and bonded" along with "Sasuke and Naruto-sensei" entered his brain. He had fallen into deep thought as she had spoken with Kyuubi, who, at the moment, he wanted to kick a** for being so snarky. "Kid, you'll always be little to us, but seeing you now I'm starting to wonder!" He laughed slightly before sobering up.

"I'm serious," he continued, a dry tone in his voice. "He was a mess after you left... not that I care, you know. He probably didn't care I left, either. Probably thought it wasn't a big thing, like you are to him. After all, kid, you are his student." While Naruto had probably doted on Kunai with concern and love, Sasuke had gone beyond what he usually did... Pah. Why was he even still here, conversing with Sasuke's student? He had done nothing to deserve her attention, anyway.

Kyuubi quivered under the heavy emotional change Naruto was hiding from Kunai, but he managed to hide their hidden pain as the fox-wolf grinned up at the mare, noting her blush. "Aw, you can't be shy now after being around us boys for so long! I bet your brother or sister could probably handle being complimented! ...If you have siblings, that is," he quickly added, figuring, like Naruto, Kunai was probably an orphan... but man, did she really remind them both of Hatake Kakashi. What the hell? She even looks similar to the old guy! Okay, so Kakashi hadn't been that old, but he was old enough for Kyuubi to think the Jounin was old. Sort of.

She watched the blond musing still how close he and Sasuke were to the point of sarcastic name calling and fidgeting with one another. She knew the truth but it wasn't easy to tell them if they didn't realize it. So honestly it was frustrating seeing them apart when Kunai knew they should be together.

"Nonsense. You were both there that day Naruto. You both promised to train me in the ninja arts and I am thankful because I've learned a lot from the both of you rather you realize it or not." she noted with a toss of her head a jovial but serious look on her features.

Hearing Kyyubi she smiled and nodded in response, "Yes a sister and a brother though I worry about Konoha lately for he seems so distant from all of us. I know its all in the fact of growing up, but really I fear he may become a wanderer in life after a while." she murmured with a deep sigh, "To each his own I guess."

"As far as Sasuke... I just can't see him going all emo and downhearted because I left for a few months. True I've grown but I'm still just just Kunai as I said before. I think you're exaggerating how Sasuke was reacting. He's never cared about anything except you in his sarcasm. " she sighed with a flick of her ears pawing the ground, "I don't mean to call you false in your words but it just doesn't seem provable to think of him that way. I'm sorry." She looked upward at the sky for a moment her eye flickering a red sheen as the light toched upon it, "I don't even know where my own life will carry me. Sure it would be so much easier to up and fly away but like my father I am grounded permanently which only my willpower to guide me."

She paused once more with a smile toward the blond, "And though you don't see it... You've really grown into a fine stallion Naruto. Ever since that time you guys..." she frowned then looked deeply serious, "broke like twigs I've worried about the both of you. Sure I'm still younger but you're like family to me almost. We've all grown more then we thought we would." The odd thing in her words lately was the fact she did sound adult which she knew she was. But the mare known as Kunai would of given anything to simply drift backwards and be her youthful self once more.
