Hello....I am in guard...been in for 2 years now..I am a junior now...I love doing rifle stuff..I can throw a 6 spin with a right hand toss and........barely even a double on my left.....But, I am improving.....But, hey this is my first year on rifle...We got air blades this year...I can do horizontals.....but.....yeah not getting too fancy with them till i get a little more control...The last thing any one needs is high impact plastic imbedded in their skull.....but yeah any one else use an air blade? any tips?.....i could use some......

Heya! my guard just got air blades for this season and yea! they are tht coolest things ever to spin! we havnt really played with them formally, but ive been spending the past few days just randomly trying to toss, its worlds easier to toss an air blade than a rifle. hands down xd lol, any way. from what ive seen my old instructor do was just use it as a flow piece. not so much as something to toss a 6 on (even if he can) just as something to be pretty and flowy. play around with it and see what you can do is all i can tell you! its fun! cool heart GG

They are easier and.....i love tossing with them...you can also do a roll with them.....like you roll them on the ground and they bounce back up and you can catch them. Not hard but fun. Also I spun mine around my wrist and caught it when it came back around...Rockets are fun to do with them too...They also hurt less when they hit you....some times.......-twitch- so many bruises.......lol...I wouldn't be afraid of breaking them though.....with the abuse mine has gone through in this past week it's safe to say that they are close to being indistructable......my luck i will be the first person in history to break one lol...... rolleyes

I'm in the band and I think that the air blade are awesome. We just got them and they look like so much fun. Unfortunately I can't do much more than a drop spin. heres a vid of our guard instuctor not only showing off but showing some of the stuff in our show. http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=3ca4iNpfX2E

My guard still uses traditional rifles =] Although we aren't having any in our show this year...and that makes me mad.

We only use the normal flags, sabers, and rifles (Since it's my first year, I'm just flag). Our director said she isn't too fond of the air blades anyway

spun one and hated every second of it. Give me my old fashion equipment anyday. Besides WGI counts Airblades as a prop, NOT equipment.

We got air blades for our show this year! Our only male guard member got the solo.
he can throw a seven and spin around and catch it behind his back I tried to learn the work, but quit because I'm not that good at rifle/air blade stuff. O__O

There's nothing like spinning a normal rifle.

I was just about to say, I had heard that WGI didnt even count it as a weapon. But besides that, I say normal rifles ftw. I love my rifle. Its my baby. <3
