The sounds of his bone accessories made noise, but only when he wanted them to. He could be quiet with them if he tried. His tail flicked ever so often as he ventured threw the rogue lands. Wondering what the day would bring, and hoping it was fun and had something to do with a female. Despite his cruel attitude, he loved to try to seduce females and leave them in their tracks when he was done with them. Though, another thing he loved was to start a fight. The taste of blood, the sight of it, and the hearing of ripping flesh was just too good.

Hunting. It was his passion. He took that more serious then anyone. Which led him to torturing as the years went by. Torturing innocent weak creatures that, to him, deserved to be in pain. He wanted the world to be filled with Chaos. It made him angry to see happy creatures. And to watch them go from happy to fear in less then a minute was bliss.

He looked about his surroundings. Everything seemed to be quite. The sun was in the high sky, which told him half of the day had already passed. Pity. Nothing exciting had happened. There were a few trees here and there. They looked like a good resting place, but he didn't feel like sleeping and being lazy. Even if he enjoyed attacking helpless creature at night, day just seemed good too.

He yawned and continued to walk slowly. His bones clinking together as he went. They were of teeth and other bones from past creatures he had tortured. He liked to keep suviniers. In between each one was a pretty peridot stone. He liked the color and thought it matched well with his oddly random peridot hair fluff, and peridot eyes.

Jeraha was spending a little bit of time away from his newly discovered mate, just because he wasn’t yet used to being with another lion for so long a time. Usually they scorned him pretty quickly, his bad attitude something of a turn-off. Chikala had seen more in him than he could find on his own, managing to tough it out through his repulsive personality to find something worth clinging to buried within. Something he hadn’t know before. It held in it a capacity to love that he was unsure had been there prior to their meeting. If it had, he had never used it.

Didn’t matter now. No matter where it had come from or how long it had been there, Jeraha did have the ability to love another lion. This lioness was something special, and he would do everything in his power to make sure she was happy.

It was just strange for him.

So he had decided to take a day to himself, just to think things over and come to terms with the new aspects poking into his personality since their meeting. He liked being in love, but he didn’t want to become soft. Protecting others and having the random spar whenever possible wasn’t something he was willing to give up, not even for her. It was still too much fun to piss off someone else.

He was sitting near a water hole, gazing into the thin spot of water absently as he mused over his options. Be better for her. Change himself for her. Could he really manage it? Did he really want to try? He just didn’t know. As much as he wanted to impress her and make her feel the love he felt, he couldn’t give up the animal he had become over so many years of practice.

Sighing, he looked around, wondering if something might come along to distract him from his thoughts.

Unlike Jeraha, Thona didn't really care about love. Of course, he loved someone, but he didn't know he did. She was simply his toy for him to play with when he pleased. She was his favorite toy, he'd call her. She was too stupid to realize that she could do lots better then him. Maybe that was why he liked her more then others? He swished his tail and deciding he needed a bit of water when the smell of it filled his nostrils. He turned a bit and started heading towards it.

It wasn't very far, from what he sniffed, and he was right. It was just over a small hill then he saw it. He noticed right off the bat that someone else was there. He always took in every bit of the land in front of him before he totally let down his guard. He walked slowly to the water, acting as if he hadn't picked up the other at all. It'd be fun attacking this one if he did it right. It was a lion, or from what Thona saw, looked like one at least. He wasn't sure anymore. There were hybrids around that can be confusing at first glance.

He lapped up some water before stretching and yawning. Trying to look completely comfortable. He made no effort in trying to be quiet either. He flicked his tail more making the bone accessories on them clink together every time he moved his tail. He shook his neck as well making his necklace clink too. After all, he was pretending that he didn't know someone else was there.

To Thona, everything was a type of game. Which he was determined to win. Some would call him psycho if they knew him. Which was probably true. He was a good actor too. He could pretend to be this innocent male leopard, sweet, charming, and all that. Anything that would make it easier for him in the long run. Which made him more dangerous to females then males, but that was no matter. He always pulled out ahead. Or at least he thought he did.

Jeraha watched the leopard, not entirely ignorant of the animals presence. He raised a brow, the best a lion could, looking over the accessories clad over what he had assumed to be a male leopard. Perhaps he had been mistaken? There was really only one way of finding out for certain.

He smiled to himself.

“Excuse me, miss, your jewelry is a little loud. Mind keeping it down?” He asked, each word packed with sarcasm. Of course he knew this creature wasn’t a female. But what of that? He hated leopards and he hated jewelry. Granted, he was wearing a necklace himself, but he had already convinced himself that it was practical and not something worn just to feel pretty. No one would be able to tell him otherwise.

Even if he had no intention of ever using the purple poison inside his bottle.

Anyone else might have started things off on a friendly note. Even the love-struck behemoth of the lion probably could have taken a higher road. He just… couldn’t help himself when it came to leopards. Stupid, pathetic creatures he felt them to be. This thing, whoever he was, was not a threat to Jeraha.

And he would make sure the animal knew it.

Standing, he kept his eyes on the male, smug smile still over his face as he waited for a response.

Thona finally looked at the male as if just realizing he was there, but the word that he spoke didn't amuse him to the least. He was sure the male new he was a male, and was probably saying something about the bones around his neck, feet, and tail. No matter, he'd show this lion soon enough that he wasn't someone to take lightly. Even if he was unable to beat him in a fight, he'd sure leave an impression before fleeing. "Well, it seems we have a smart a** among us today." His voice was cruel and dangerous.

"One would best be careful what one says around those they do not know." He added a growl at the end. Oh, he longed for a fight. Of course he would prefer to win, but even a failed fight was a fight none the less. His tail twitched in annoyance. He was looking straight at the male lion. Eyes almost completely focused on him, yet some on the area around him.

Thona didn't mind lions, at least female ones. Male ones, to the least, kind of scared him if they were too strong. Of course, he'd never admit that to anyone, yet alone himself. If they proved to be stronger then he'd be able to handle, he'd simply flee, but not in a cowardly way. No, he had pride with his fighting. "Do you fancy males then? Call them female to hide the fact you truly lust for Males? Pathetic, really."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 16, 2008 4:50 pm

“We?” questioned the male with a slight tilt of his head, his eyes not leaving the orange animal.

“Would one?” mocked Jeraha, “well, one will be more careful in one’s future.” He was teasing the guy. And why not? Just another leopard. He didn’t know the guy was a hair away, maybe less, from off-the-walls crazy. His tail swayed almost casually from side to side, his body completely relaxed. Yes, he knew the leopard was braced and probably ready to rip him a new one, but he wasn’t worried. The many scars on his back gave evidence to the fact that he was a lion used to fighting.

Besides, he was having too much fun to concern himself with such silly things as tensing his body and –looking- ready for a fight. He was ready, regardless of what his body was doing.

Laughing at the leopard’s attempted retort, the larger of the two shook his head, his grin becoming one of feigned interest. “Now, come on,” he cooed, voice dripping with malice and mock-affection, “don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! You’re the one who brought it up. Perhaps it’s not so far from your mind? And, yes, just so you know: I always tell males to decrease the volume of the foofy accessories as a lure to hit on them. An ice breaker, of sorts.”

This male was truly stupid. He smirked at his arrogance. Thona was getting a bit of a short temper, but didn't show it. No, it was just part of the other's plan. To get him angry, and lose control. It was stupid fighting when pissed off. Being angry while fighting makes it less likely for one to know what was going on. No, you had to control yourself. Keep your anger to a minimal.

The smirk didn't leave Thona's face as he tried to tell him that he was the one who wanted males because he said it first. Even more Pathetic then he thought. He let out a Cackle as he finished his little saying. "It's truly pitiful that the world has a pathetic lion to waste space." He said his eyes showed lust for blood as he eyed the male. Thona rarely took the first shot in a fight. So he continued to sit there. But today he might actually make an exception.

"Oh yes, I'm about to go pick flowers with another male now." Sarcasm filled his voice. Foofy accessories? He wanted to correct the male about his own accessories. He took pride on them more then he did Nande, who was his toy. In her eyes, he was her mate yet didn't know that He wasn't as faithful as she thought him to be. His accessories were those he wore were bones of his victims. Though none of them big cats, smaller animals. No, If he killed one of those he'd use it's head as a mask to show the world what he had killed. But that day had yet to come. Oh it will, eventually.

"I see your vocabulary is as limited as your intelligence," the male shot back with ease, the cool mockery in his tone unaltered. He watched the smaller feline, reclining for the moment since the other was sitting as well. There was no need to worry too much- he had given himself enough space from the creature to see an attack coming. Though he was seemingly relaxed, Jeraha didn't take things lightly. He made sure to take his precautions, no matter how un-threatening the target.

Still, he didn't feel entirely worried about his current situations, his usual amounts of concern dulled a bit by his confidence.

"Why go off with some other male," he asked with a false pout, "why not invite me along? We seem to be hitting it off quite well. We're a handsome couple. Alright, alright, I admit, perhaps not destined to be secret lovers, but best friends to be sure. I see it now. We'll have matching bracelets made out of animal entrails, if you'd like."

Sighing, he found himself growing disinterested. Was this creature going to attempt to match wits with him all day long? At first it had looked like the animal was ready to attack at any moment. Now he was playing it cool. Which was fine, Jeraha wasn’t going to poke about for a fight, he just wasn’t sure where to take things.

Conversations were so awkward when both participants were trying to piss one another off.

"What now, stud?"

"I don't waste my breath with those who are not worth it." he replied back to the vocabulary thing. Which was true, he never really used much vocabulary unless he knew the other well, and he was friend with. Anyone else he simply didn't care to have an intelligent conversation. No point when he wasn't going to do much talking. In fact, he didn't even plan to do much here, the other wasn't like most that he Encountered. Easy to upset, and anger.

He almost wanted to laugh at his next statement. Almost. "Such a good couple that I might just forget about the flower picking and run off with your right now." He said with more sarcasm and a bit of a dramatic look upon his face. "But secret lovers could be so much fun" He gasped with sarcasm. "oh yes, can't forget those, maybe have the string made out of some lizard guts." he rolled his eyes.

He shrugged at the other as he asked. Slightly bored now, and decided to tell him what he was planing to do in the first place. "Well, I was planning to piss you off so you'd attack me then me kick your a**, but since your pretty much like myself and isn't really phased with this s**t." He just shrugged. "I could attack you, but then I'd be the one with the lower part of the stick." Attacking first always gave the other a window of opportunity to strike without the one attacking knowing about it.

He was really bummed that this happened. He really wanted to take someone down, but it seemed today might not be his day. He eyed the other for a moment, still deciding weather he could take the male down if he attacked first. Though, he was pretty sure it'd either be an even match, or the lion would over power him. Which was more then likely what would happen. He didn't like the odds. Even with an even match he didn't like it. He flicked his tail Ears back, and baffled at what to do next.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 16, 2008 6:17 pm

"Really?" Jeraha hummed, tail beating against the ground, "because it felt to me like you were trying to find some way to respond. You could have said nothing. That would have save you a lot of breath."

“You’re kidding,” grunted the animal, “no mere leopard would be able to “kick my a**.” I hate to disappoint you. Even if I had been the one to attack first, there is no way you would be able to harm me. In fact, it’s probably a good thing for you that this isn’t the kind of thing to really piss me off, or you’d be dead already.” He smiled at that. It wasn’t that he felt cocky, really, nor was he trying to make the leopard mad. These were just… his thoughts on the subject. Like he was having a casual conversation and nothing more, his words simply opinions.

It was all very relaxed for him.

Raising a paw, the large lion extended his claws, letting the long blade-like nails glimmer very slightly in the sun. They were a bit dirty from all the walking he had done, but he didn’t mind. Their message was clear, despite the dingy look to them.

“If you’d like, I could pretend to take offense to the things you’ve said. I don’t mind a fight if you’d really like one. But, I warn you, I’ve been fighting my entire life and I really don’t have a problem killing you. Take a moment to consider your options. I’ll wait.”

Arrogance. It'd get that lion killed one of these days. He was underestimating Thona. A common thing to do for lions. Always thinking they were better then anyone else. He smirked. "You seem sure of yourself. How about a bit of a mock fight then?" He liked a bit of challenge. "No claws, or ways to puncture the skin, or blows that could hurt either of us internally? Fair enough?" He said for rules. "And If I thought I'd be in any type of danger of death, I'd have left before given you a chance to try." He said with a nod.

Mock fights were generally just wrestling for Thona. First one who could pin the other the longest, won. Of course he was sure he wasn't going to win, but it could be close. He was big for a leopard, which gave him an advantage then most. He was totally trained for fighting and hunting.

"I've fought all my life as well, I'm not one to be arrogant." He informed the other. "I am not sure your strength. It's one reason I didn't attack first." He continued. "As well as you are a bit bigger then me. Even being bigger then most leopards, that doesn't give me much of a advantage." He continued again. "You don't know my strength either. So we are fair on that part, but you still have the advantage of being bigger."

"Though, it could also be a disadvantage." He paused. "See being bigger could make one slower. But also, once again, I don't know anything about you, so leaves me still in the lower hand of the situation." more reasons for him not to attack. " I take everything into consideration, so if anything, like I suggested, I'd do a mock fight." He flicked his tail. Thona could be decent when he wanted to, and with giving the other a bit of respect, he didn't have to be rude to him. Mostly cause it wasn't working and he didn't feel like changing his tactics.

“No claws or fangs, hm?” Repeated the male, “and no bumps that might cause damage? What, exactly, does that leave us? Are we supposed to rub against each other until our skins start to burn under our furs? Pin each other against the ground, very carefully? Seems like a waste of time to me. I would rather have a real fight, or just walk away from this encounter without any manner of fight.”

He didn’t have any real hesitations to the idea other than he felt he would look silly doing it. While Thona was large for a leopard, Jeraha was large for a lion. He listened to the animal speak of sizes and speeds, saying nothing on the matter. It was true enough, but the animal wasn’t worried. His smugness left him always feeling like he could win in a fight, simply because he knew he didn’t honestly care if he died in one. At least, that was how it had been. Now that he loved someone things were a bit different. Still, he also knew that he wasn’t slow. Perhaps not as quick as a leopard, but fast enough to fight one.

“Sounds to me like you might want to study my moves in this mock fight, on the off-chance that we meet again. I tend to take most things into consideration as well, my friend, and I find this want of yours a little suspicious.” He watched the animal, his structure rigid as he took in the male’s body. Strange leopard. Jeraha couldn’t figure out if he wanted to kill the animal right now or try to speak with him a bit more. And even then he couldn’t pick between being more of a jackass or more civil to him. The creature wasn’t so bad, really, but not something Jeraha felt he would be better friends with any time soon. They were perhaps too much alike.

Made he see just how irritating he was, which wasn’t something he really liked to embrace from the other side of the fence. He was blissful in his ignorance of just how much his words impacted others.

Thona didn't feel like explaining himself any farther on the mock battle. He simply shrugged it off and gave a small chuckle at what the male said. He never said that the blows couldn't hurt, just no damage to where they'd end up dieing from them. He valued his life, and didn't want to die from some stupid fake battle. Of course, he didn't want to die from a real one either, or at least not for a long time. There were so many females out there he had yet to victimize.

He shrugged at the other's suspicion. "Can't really deny it. Good to know your enemies, or rivals." He simply replied. Thona flicked his tail, watching the male, still focused on all his movements. Even if the male didn't look as if he was going to move from his smug little spot. But that could be one mans mistake to take easy around someone you didn't know at all. Thona wasn't really trying to find friends, in fact, he thought them a waste of time. But took any chance to use someone if he thought it would benefit him in the long run.

Thona didn't think the other wasn't much like him. For if he was, he probably would have agreed to the mock trial, and probably would try to act like he wanted friends as well. He was getting impatient with this conversation, and this male. Either he was going to leave soon, or something else was going to happen.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 29, 2008 9:06 pm

“Really? I was quite happy being ignorant of you, friend or enemy,” Jeraha replied with mock innocence. He drew himself to his feet, feeling a little bit uncomfortable. But it wasn’t the leopard that had him on edge. Something just felt… off about the area. And it really didn’t take long to see what that something was.

Blinking, he looked directly behind the leopard, wondering how on earth he had managed to miss the large pile of smoke billowing up from the brush behind him. For all his claims of intelligence and a prowess for observation, the male had somehow neglected to see the starts of a fire. Not only that, but he had also failed to scent the now potent smell of smoke that hung about them. In his defense, though, they were sitting against the wind, making the smoke blow in the opposite direction of their location.

Still, one would think the black cloud might have been a bit of a tip off.

It was close. He could see the whips of fire from where he stood, the hairs on his body raising in anticipation and more than a little fret. Wild fires spread so quickly over dry brush. Even in patches spread over dirt it was a threat. And they were sitting close to it.

“Perhaps we should continue this conversation in another area,” he advised the leopard male without turning his eyes on him, “we seem to have a spot of unwanted company.”

Thona quickly looked where the other had as he stood up. His ears back he saw bits of what might be smoke, and perhaps fire. He wasn't one who had seen it up close, but he had seen it's effects, and how fastly it could happen. He wasted no time getting to his feet again, as well.

"It'd be best to move fast." He added, as he looked to the lion, and started to walk in the other direction. He wasn't going to lie, he didn't notice at all, and if the lion hadn't said anything, he probably wouldn't have noticed until it was too late. It was good that the wind wasn't bowing their direction, or the fire might end up coming closer to them a lot faster.
