So. Yesterday I got back from America. I had a great trip, but as soon as I got in the car to head home from the airport, I got a bunch of bad news. Some family stuff, aaaand something else. While I was gone, someone turned my computer on to change the printer settings.. and it started making a really weird clack-clack sound. So they got my dad to look at it (he fixes computers for a living, so he knows what he's doing.) Basically, my harddisk had a mechanical failure and is completely busted. Which means I've lost everything that was on it. Pictures, music, everything. I'm sure that's happened to some of you before, so you know that it sucks. A lot. Today I'm on working on recovering as much as I can... I've always tried to keep a backup of important stuff, but I'm not really good at it. The last time I backed something up was in January, and that was my photos. So at least I can get those back, it's just the past six months worth of photos that I lost. I'm mainly really upset about losing the rest of my documents, I had soo much 'irreplaceable' stuff that's just gone forever. Ughh. And then my music. Damnnn. I had 15G of music, and I had a folder for every artist and subfolders for albums. Then in iTunes I had the lyrics and album art for every song, and also all the song info (like artist, album, year) filled in. I can't even imagine how long it would take to try and redo all that... I'm just gonna have to start over completely. I'll be spending forever importing CDs xp And then I still won't have any of the downloaded stuff back, which was the majority of my music...
And there's just so much other stuff that I lost. It sucks so bad. So here's my warning to you all. BACK YOUR s**t UP. For real. Make backups of your documents (pictures, word documents, etc.) because it really sucks when you spend hours & hours & hours using photoshop and then poof! it's all gone. Or when you have a 90 page story saved in word and then poof! bye bye to that.
A good way to back stuff up: on the internet! It's free and isn't too much of a hassle. If you have photos from a great night out with friends or vacation or something, upload them to photobucket! If you write stories/poems/lyrics, save them in a livejournal or something. Music is harder to back up, which is why I never really did it. I copied some of my music over onto my brother's computer, because he had some space available and likes a lot of the same bands as me anyway. But he wouldn't let me do more than a few artists, because it takes up a ton of room. And I'm not sure everyone has a second computer around that they could copy stuff onto. I'd suggest backing up music onto CDs, even though it's a huge pain. I never did, because I would need hundreds of CDs and it never seemed worth it. But now I wish I had. Especially if you buy songs off iTunes or something, at least back those up because there is no way to recover them. The only thing you can do is call up Apple, explain what happened, give them your user info, and hope hope hope they're feeling nice and will let you redownload everything.
Trust me, they're not always feeling very nice gonk
And now the favors part. If I've ever sent you songs, pictures, whatever... here's your chance to be nice and send it right back to me. If you have it saved still, that is xp You could post pictures in the thread or if you have something to send me you can just ask for my email address. I don't know. I don't know if you guys would have all that much. But I'm just trying to get back whatever I can.

I'm so sorry Poly~! gonk heart I know how much it sucks...
But you didn't even tell us about your flight! How was it?
Whenever we're on msn together, I will send you all the iTunes that I can. <3 We listen to a lot of the same music, so it'll be okay.
Do you still have the pictures from America on your camera?
You probably have this in photobucket and on your profile but I still have this on my computer...

My flight was fine. I had Breaking Dawn with me so I read that 3nodding They played a movie with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diez in it, so I watched that too. I don't know what it was called but it was cute 3nodding
I do still have the pictures on my camera 3nodding heart But I want you to send me the ones on your camera, puh-lease <3
I do have that in photobucket but thank you anyway 4laugh
