Nima'baha had been wandering for a long time. Banished from his family when he was young, he'd grown up and learned to survive on his own - and he had the scars to prove it. But that didn't mean that he was bitter, or angry. In fact, he was calm, confident in himself and generally peaceful.
There was really only one thing that he had always missed having, all his life. A friend, a lover, a companion. Someone who would remain close to him, be a partner in more ways than one. It didn't much matter to him whether this one was male or female, friend or lover.
He simply wanted someone who wouldn't leave - wouldn't drift in and out.
So rather than hunting for food today, he was looking for this elusive companion... just wandering, seeing if there was anyone else in the area.

The leopardess sat on top a flat rock, perched daintily on black paws. She was erect, her head turning slowly as she looked about the area. Nothing. Not one creature she would consider getting her game on with.
Her thoughts were getting the better of her. She was eager to get them out of her mind. Push away the tragic past.
Hide it under an impulsive act that could make her feel better for a couple of hours. That was all she needed. Just a little time away from the horrors of her existence. Then she would stop. Act like a real animal and get herself a steady mate. Maybe even a couple of friends.
She always told herself the same thing.
Blinking, she spotted a lion heading towards her, stark opposite when it came to coloration. He was quite white, something she wasn’t used to seeing in the rogue lands. Smiling coyly, she got up, jumping from her perch and heading over to this stranger quickly. “Well hello there,” she said lightly, “what brings you around these parts?”

Nima actually started slightly when someone suddenly spoke to him, having been lost in his own thoughts so deeply that he hadn't been paying too much attention to his surroundings.
When he saw just who (and what) it was that had spoken, though, he smiled slowly and bobbed his head in a move that was almost a sort of bow. "Hello," he replied, voice soft, controlled. He hadn't seen very many leopards before in his travels, and this one looked very interesting, with her dark coloring in contrast to his white fur.
"For the moment, I am simply exploring ...and yourself?"

“Thinking,” she replied with an elegant, albeit slightly teasing smile; the kind of thing that came naturally to the flirtatious type, “I’ve had a lot on my mind as of late and I was just musing over some of the details.”
This lion seemed much nicer than the one she had met before- the one that was probably still looking over her like some kind of creepy stalker. From him she had gotten what she needed, a moment of joy, and for it she was now expected to carry his children. What was going to happen after this agreement she still did not know. Perhaps he would kill her or leave her with the babies.
Maybe he would decided none of them were worth keeping.
Sighing, she decided to avert her attention from such things, focusing on the male now in front of her. He seemed pretty banged up for such a kind-looking creature. Perhaps not a topic to bring up with a stranger, though. “What’s your name?” she asked.

Nima tilted head as he listened to her, nodding slightly at her words. "Details are always important to examine at all times," he commented softly.
Sitting down, he wrapped tail about his feet and shook his head a bit to get rid of a fly that had decided to land on an ear.
"I am called Nima'baha," he said then, with a smile. "And you, fair lady...?"

Sinasina chuckled. Fair was not something she really considered herself being. She was anything but, really. The creature was one of pleasure and self-interest. Hardly anything fair. Her looks, perhaps, fell into the category, but she wasn’t one to really think of herself as anything but a filthy, ugly creature.
“Sinasina,” she replied softly, “It’s a pleasure to meet you Nima’baha.”
Looking around she frowned, her curiosity growing the better of her. She couldn’t look at him without seeing those scars. “Were you in a fight?” she asked after a moment’s pause.

Nima smiled faintly at her question, after noting the name mentally - wouldn't do to forget, after all. "Several, actually," he replied, shrugging one shoulder a bit.
It was fairly obvious he didn't think it a big deal, though some of those scars looked like they came from serious wounds.
"But most were a while ago... as I was growing up," he went on. "You see, I've been ... alone most of my life. So things were difficult a time or two."

“I’m sorry to hear it,” she replied. She couldn’t empathize with him, having never been in a fight herself, but she did feel bad he had been through rough times. Even if they were different from anything she had known.
She continued to look over the wounds, her lack of inhibitions making her have no problem with it. She was an out-going creature and sometimes that got the better of her.
“Now being alone I understand,” Sinasina said softly, “I was alone a lot when I was little as well. My mother abandoned me and I don’t know who my father is.”

Nima almost instantly looked sympathetic at that, expression falling a bit. He knew what being abandoned was like for sure...
"That is very sad... I ... knew my parents, though not for long," he replied softly - keeping details to himself for the moment. He didn't particularly feel the need to tell his entire life story to all he met.

Sinasina offered a smile, as aware as he was that the conversation was heading down a bad road. She felt responsible, as she had just been so eager to ask him about the scars. Maybe sometimes being so out going wasn’t the best thing.
Of course, she already knew that, “why don’t we talk about something else now?” she offered brightly, her attitude something happy despite previously being distraught by thinking of her mother.
“What brings you out here?” she asked, trying to take things from thoughts of abandonment.

Nima smiled at that, brightening a bit again at her words. Talking of something else would indeed be welcome at this point. Shaking out his mane just a little, he considered for a moment before answering.
"Mostly ... searching," he admitted then. "As I said, I've been alone for a long time. So now... I'm on a sort of hunt for companionship. If that makes sense."

“It does,” Sinasina replied, “it makes perfect sense. I suppose I was doing a bit of that too before my thoughts got the better of me again.” She smiled, reflecting on how she didn’t really know a great many animals. The rogue lands were so massive, one would think that she’d have run into at least a pawful of creatures that she enjoyed the company of. She, however, had not.
There was only one leopard she really enjoyed the company of, and a small juvenile lion cub that was slowly growing on her. Other than that, she was lost on companionship.
“Maybe we can help each other out then,” she offered, “by the two of us becoming friends. Unless, of course, you don't like leopards.”

Nima smiled at that, pleased by the offer. He would like friends, though a part of him was looking for more. That would likely ... have to wait, however. He would not ask for what the leopardess might not be willing to give.
"I believe I would like that very much, my lady," he replied, almost formally. "I have absolutely no problems with leopards. It is the mind and heart on the inside that counts, not what is shown on the outside."

Sinasina only smiled, unaware of his thoughts on the matter as she listened to him accept her proposal. It was nice to see that not all lions were after that one special thing. A mild hypocrisy, really, when considered in the mind of such a shameless flirt such as the ebony leopardess.
“That’s good to hear. Sometimes I think too much about what others look like, I’m ashamed to admit.” It was true enough. If she felt an animal particularly disagreeable-looking, she tended to take the long way to avoid confrontation. But her bias wasn’t breed deep. Most animals were generally nice looking. She just didn’t like the rejects within each species.
Nothing wrong with that… right?
“Let’s go for a walk,” she said, running her tail against his shoulder as she walked by him, “being in one spot so long bores me.”

Nima nodded thoughtfully at that. "I think that everyone does that, to a certain extent. Just because what's inside is most important... it doesn't mean that is the first thing that others see." He smiled faintly. "Of course, things are even better when the outside matches what is beneath."
Getting up when she did, the muscles of that shoulder twitched a bit under her tail - but it was a nice sort of twitching. Smile growing wider, he turned to follow her. "A walk would be nice. I haven't had much of a chance to explore this area."
