When words of hatred and rebellion are uttered, they spread like the wild fire in a thirsty forest. One spark is all it takes to burn into the heart of mother nature's greatest creations. In this case however, it is greed of creatures that has created this special spark of unknown proportions. As the words of Cerberus were heard across the four corners of the Loki clan, it would not be long till his words crossed Lake Attila and reached the ears of its protectors, the Sentinels. Among the protectors was a patriotic looking Fafner named Pathos. Although he must be fierce and follow the Nobel's orders like a dog, he is still opened minded to the fact that Cerberus could be on to something. With the moon caressing the sky with a blanket of stars, it would be too early to bug his wife, Ophelia about the current situation.
No, no instead he decided to confine with his best friend since childhood, a Fafner with an easy going attitude named Cera. Carefully maneuvering through the Attilan Huts, Pathos put in an extra effort to not wake up anyone else this late at night. Soon, Cera's scent became strong, signaling that Pathos was closing in to Cera's home. Shifting his weight, Pathos crouched down and gently whispered, "
"Cera... Pst...Ceraaa..."Moaning slightly, Cera whined
"What do you want this hour Pathos...?" Squinting slightly he could see his son Page sleeping like a log.
What a lucky little bugger he thought to himself since he was cursed with the ability of being a light sleeper.
Smirking, Pathos invited himself in to Cera's hut.
"Well... there is rebellion stirring in the North, Cera." Rebellion?, Cera thought to himself while he slowly rose from his fetal-like position.
"Why would there be rebellion stirring in the Loki Clan? They are a peaceful clan, much more fortunate than the other clans. If there is anyone that should be rebelling it is us Pathos, not them! Our population has grown way out of control the past few months. So out of control in fact I believe our resources in fish will soon die out. How can we keep our clan together AND send the quota to the Nobles? growled Cera.
As Cera's normal laid back attitude began to disappear, Page began to roll onto his stomach, covering his head with his paws as if an earthquake had just occurred.
"That's just it Cera! Cerberus is rebelling because of the Nobles. Rumor has it that even Loki clan will suffer when a Noble Family is placed to watch over that clan", whispered Pathos who felt uneasy about this situation. If Cera continued to snarl his words, the other commoners of Attila would soon wake up because all of their commotion.
With eyes widened, Cera gasped,
"Then we have to help him friend! If that is true, Cerberus is going to need the support of the other Fafners!" Frowning, Pathos shook his head,
"Cera, I'm afraid I cannot follow you down such a path. As a Sentinel, my duties are to follow the Noble orders and... protect to commoners of this clan. If you follow the road of rebellion, I would have to hunt you down. Please, I beg of you, don't make me choose between my family and our friendship. And...and think of Page! A child so young cannot follow you as well. Tilting his head slightly Cera nodded,
"Your duty as a Sentinel is noble Pathos. However, the Nobles who order you around are full of corruption and selfishness. You're suppose to protect the commoners, but can't you see? Following the orders of the Nobles and protecting the commoners just cannot be done. By following the Nobles, you're hurting the ones you love!".
Soon, Cera's bellowing voice woke up the commoners with huts near by. Such disruption allowed other Sentinels to wonder who was stirring up trouble at this hour. Realizing he cannot change his actions, Cera looked at Pathos with sadness on his face.
"Looks like I'm in for it this time old friend... Do me a favor... take Page with you? I know he will be safe with you and Ophelia." Raising a brow, Pathos in much disbelief could not believe that Cera, a Fafner who has always been laid back decided to choose this belief over his own son. Unfortunately, before he could respond to Cera's request, footsteps could be heard in the distance.
