So, about two years ago I made up a set of grammar rules for a language known in English as 'Alcan'. I uploaded them to freewebs and made a guide to using my language. Words will come later.

Thing is, when I put this thing together, I was a complete layman. No specific skilsi n modern languages, no grasp of the formation of sentences, etcetera. I was just a kid making a language.

So now, would anyone be able to review my language, and go through with me anything I've missed out, anything that is overcomplicated or unnecessary, and generally how I can improve it?

Thanks 3nodding

Attaching all that to the verb is interesting... but what happens when you have both a direct and indirect object? How would you form that? You'd need two endings, from what I can tell. And then you don't know which is which because the ending is on the verb and not the object itself. Maybe if you specified that 'direct object' comes first, or 'indirect object comes first' in your sentence order, that might help. Or if you added the ending to the object and not the verb? Or maybe split which endings go where. Putting them all on the verb confuses (me at least.)

Other than that, make more VOCAB! =D

(Sorry if I missed something there, my day has been a bit hectic so far...)

It looks pretty good so far. Vocab needed, of course. I'm not sure how to pronounce it, though, so maybe you should say how the words are pronounced (ie, is ai a long I or is it ahh-eee? Or aeh? Letters are just symbols, and can be redefined wink )

I like the endings, nice and simple, but unusual--and interesting smile

And Homurakitsune is right, you need something to account for "I danced with Kate at John's house." (since location is one of your options)

Maybe you could make a sort of preference order for what goes on the verb in cases where there are multiple, then have an actual preposition or particle to indicate a location, object, or whatever when it's not "attached" directly to the verb. Or you could list the vowels out on the verb in the same order as the objects. Or stick consonants in between the vowels (standardized or based on the verb or the same for all, regardless of which object endings are being used)

ie: Ad dianoe Kate ??-yade-Jack. {?? is the particle} vs Ad dianoae Kate yade-Jack. vs Ad dianojake Kate yade-Jack {different vowels} vs Ad dianojaje Kate yade-Jack {same vowels}
making a point of not using n or l, but probably could be used since it's in the middle of the ending-set.

Hopefully that is helpful for resolving that... or maybe I just gave you too much to think about razz
