All right, well.

On August 2nd, the day the book came out (as we all know), the internet was flooded with spoilers.
Me, being unable to get the book that day, fell victim to them, because I just couldn't wait to find out whatwhatwhat happens.

First off, this is a lot. Like, a lot a lot.
So, I won't put it in white.
But, I will do a long space.
So turn back now if you have yet to read.

I was surprised at first.
Bella gets pregnant?
How is that possible?
Jacob imprints on the child?
Her name is Renesmee?
Bella can control her new-vampire self?
She has a shield power that can block others minds?

WTF, Meyer?

(Not that all of that bothered me; in fact, I was perfectly happy that Jacob imprinted on the child because everyone would then be happy. And Bella's shield thing is pretty cool, too.)

But, Meyer, didn't you say vamps can't get pregnant?
(And, I know that Bella was human at the time, but what I mean is, didn't she say that everything was replaced withe vemon? INCLUDING Ed's sperm?)

And, I while it's something ridiculous to complain about, Renesmee is a silly, silly name. Sure, it's sweet, combining the grandmothers names (plus the grandfathers for the middle [Carlie]) but it seems to me that she wanted to out do J.K. in the naming of the child.
That was a joke.
<<

And of course, the magicalness of Bella being able to control herself. Now, really, how can you not slap the sticker of MARY-SUE on this girl when reading that?

But, remember; this is what I thought before reading the book.

So, I got Breaking Dawn on the third, and began reading, bracing myself for disappointment.

How wrong I was.

While, what did happen was silly, I began to understand Meyer's little universe so much more.

So, male vampires who slept with human girls where incubus' now?
And girl vampires who slept with human boys where succubus'?

I could take that.
In fact, I sort of like that logic.

And, how cute is it that they call her Nessie?
Sure, Loch Ness Monster (as pointed out by Bella, lulz) and all that, but it's still cute. XD

And then Edward's logic for why Bella was so in control. She willed her self to be. She went into it with the attitude that many new vampires probably wouldn't. Because she had such a clear understanding of their universe by that time.
So, I could accept that whole thing, too.

That aside, I'll get more detailed.

I really love how Meyer split it up as Human Bella, Jacob, Vampire Bella.

Part one was incredibly sweet, and I won't lie and share the fact that I totally teared up during the wedding scene.

The honeymoon made me laugh. Sure, some of it made me turn red, but those chapters were the most amusing to me. (Did anyone else die when Edward was like, 'I bit a pillow'? XDDD)

I've shared my thoughts on the whole pregnancy thing, but I was really...upset with how Edward handled it.
In fact, I thought he was a total jerk.
But, I did go, 'Awww,' when Bells called Rosalie at the end there.

And then we go to Jacob.
I totally hated that it switched over to him when it did, but by, like, chapter two I was a-okay.

I really do love those werewolves. <3

And, OMG, character development for Leah!
Wootwoot.

Jacob's thought made me giggle a lot, even though he was very angsty. It was nice to be out of Bella's head for a while.

And, DUDE, when Bella gave birth.
That part was intense. @.@

And then he imprinted on the beautiful little baby and awwww.

Part three was...well, I liked it, and disliked it.

I won't lie; I didn't much like Bella when she turned into a vampire.
Mostly, I didn't like how she yelled at Jacob for imprinting.
I say she was jealous. talk2hand

Baha, but.
I did like meeting all the new vampires.
I totally fell for the Kate/Garrett couple thing. <33

And how nice to see he Volturi again!

Not really. sweatdrop

Aro...Well, I loved Aro in New Moon, but then...gah, he killed my in BD. ;o;

How cruel he was!

However, I did fall for Marcus.
As he did see reason and I could just picture him there with that bored expression of his. XD
BTW, I couldn't help but picture him as Snape played by Alan Rickman. XD

And, dude, that speech by Garrett was intense. @.@

And then, of course, the happy ending came and yay Nessie wouldn't have to be turned into a vampire because she was going to just stop aging anyway so Jacob and her could live happily and yay Bella and Edward could be together forever and have all the crazy sex they want and yay Sue and Charlie and yay Alice and Jasper, Emmett and Rose, an Carlisle and Esme were all spared. <33

So, all in all, I liked BD a lot
More so that Twilight (my favorite) I don't know yet, but I was very pleased with how Meyer ended her 'saga.'

So, here's to that.

and that'd liked my 4789473894728 cents.
if you read that all, congrats. XD

I agree with the Mary-Sue label, not so much the rest. =)

I didn't really like the incubus and succubus explanation shoved in our faces. Especially since incubi/succubi are actually JINNS/demons not vampires. Vampires = drain blood; Incubi/Succubi = drain energy. And therefore a huge part of my religious belief-system. =/ And I don't think I'd like to picture vampires going around lying on top of women/men and then having sex with them.

But you know, whatever floats your boat.

Garrett was so baller! I loved him!
=D

And I fell for Marcus too. I didn't think of Rickman, but that'd be pretty awesome!

Too bad Garrett's amazing speech and pumping everyone else up was for nothing. I hated that. No action whatsoever.

Tehe.
See, I didn't know all that about them.
I can see how that'd bother people.

@Taru:
I know! I was getting totally stoked for some action!
And I have no idea why I thought of Rickman. I was just picturing that flat face he uses as Snape sometimes. XD

I liked your 2 cents. It's much like how I felt (all the good stuff you said only razz ). I think it makes sense that Bella could control herself because I can't think of any other situation that would come up like hers where they wanted to be a vampire. The Cullens gave her tons and tons of preparation. I doubt that any other vampire ever had that.

I've given my two cents on the book little by little all over the Breaking Dawn section of the guild. I really don't feel like typing it all out again (and I'll admit I only scanned your post; its almost five a.m. where I live). BUT, I will say I agree with your post (or at least what I read of it) for the most part. There are some things I disagree with, but agree with at the same time. (The Mary-Sue-ness for example. We all know how unbearingly perfect vampires are, so it wasn't a surprise to me. It's why Bella's P.O.V. ends with Breaking Dawn. We can't relate to her anymore. >w<)

BUT, Stephenie is finally speaking! I read the interview on the Lexicon. -click here nowsz-. It cleared a lot for me, and makes me feel better. xD Y'know, that I'm not defending the book for nothing.

...I'll be honest, I never got the 'I bit the pillow' thing.
I'm very slow when it comes to stuff like that.

    ; w;

What also kind of ticked me off was the Volturi part.
Aro changed his mind every two seconds, and even though his mind was set on killing them, he kept asking witnesses and then kept denying them and stuff. ]:

Oh my god, that is more or less exactly how I felt.
I didn't read the spoilers - I stayed well away from the internet until I was finished - but the first time I read it through, I was sincerely disappointed. Then, I let it settle, and I loved it.
I also loved the idea of the seperate books. It was really two stories in the one book, Part One being pregnancy drama, Part Two being the Volturi drama.
Part one made me so incredibly happy. I loved the wedding, it did make me cry. The honeymoon was also unbelievable. While it may seem silly, I loved how Edward was. He was stubborn and angsty, but he just cared so much. I thought it was sweet. My mother, however, just thought it was annoying. =P
At first, I expected to completely hate Jacob's part. By the time I was a little ways in, I loved it, too! It was really nice to try another tone, to be in someone else's head. Jacob's part style wise, was a lot like my writing style, and I thought that was pretty nifty.
I felt bad about the Garrett/Kate thing. I think it's pretty spiffy that they won him over and that something that nice came out of the vampire gathering. However, I feel terrible for Tanya. Kate lost a sister, but gained a lover. But Tanya lost a sister, and never found any love. Especially when you think about how she must feel about Edward being entirely out of the question, you have to admit she got the short end of the stick.
The biggest problem for me was the MarySue issue. (hehehe, I rhymed :3). Human Bella never bothered me in that area. I didn't think she was as bad as most people felt she was. But vampire Bella defined Mary Sue. And if that wasn't bad enough, Renesmee completely inherited that from her mother.
So, yeah, my two cents too xD

Omg thank you for being so positive about the book! 99% of the threads here are all like "BAH LAME BOOK IS PHAIL!"

:'D

I have to 100% meep with you here.

"(Did anyone else die when Edward was like, 'I bit a pillow'? XDDD)"
I didn't die but I sure as hell almost went into a rock n roll coma, I was like. THANK YOU!

"I've shared my thoughts on the whole pregnancy thing, but I was really...upset with how Edward handled it.
In fact, I thought he was a total jerk. I think that yes, he could've been a lot nicer about the whole thing. razz Im looking forward to reading his POV of the whole thing someday.

"But, I did go, 'Awww,' when Bells called Rosalie at the end there."
Me too! I went, OMG YES, GO DO IT BELLA! Rosalie understands you!

"And, OMG, character development for Leah!
Wootwoot."
I know! I really liked that : ] and to be honest, she and Jacob would be a kickass couple. Since she is like.. the only female werewolf and.. all that weirdness that did not exactly get a specific end.

"And, DUDE, when Bella gave birth.
That part was intense. @.@ "
I wish it would've been MORRRREEE intense. Like, yeah. more elongated wouldve been better IMO.

"And then he imprinted on the beautiful little baby and awwww."
When i read the last page to that chapter I thought... wtf she's charming him already? I didnt catch on till Edward told her she would be surprised. Then I re-read that last page and went: OOMMYYYGGOODDD>>>.. No way, no way. O_O;

"I won't lie; I didn't much like Bella when she turned into a vampire."
What I didn't like is that she was being so DAMN pessimistic about the whole thing! D< And yes she was jealous of Jacob.

"And how nice to see he Volturi again!"
I was actually missing them, but they were ... weird, this time around. Not as hardcore I would say. I liked Aro. XD He was being awfully diplomatic and careful cuz he knew they'd be PWNZORDED. The others were stupid enough to believe they could win.

"And, dude, that speech by Garrett was intense. @.@ "
Are you KIDDING ME? It's my freaking most favorite part in the whole entire book! I love that guy! I reread it a couple of times because it was so epic. Garret-Super awesome character. He's like the Wise junkie of the story. XD

I wanted someone to die, specially if it was someone important from the volturi side! Jane's power backfiring on her or something, could've worked!
There should've been some blood. D: It wasn't as intense as the first book. But still loved it!

I have a feeling Stephenie has more things in store for the Twilight saga in the future. wink She grew wayy too attached to it to let it die now.

Hmmm. The whole pregnancy thing kind of freaked me out. Personally I think it's a little out of place for Renesmee to even be in the story, but that's just my opinion.

I really loved the Romanians. Stefan and Vladimir are so cool. They're my new vamp idols. xD

Jacob was hilarious. I was cracking up every time he said something about Rosalie.

Emmett's funny as always.

I'm glad it ended happily. My opinion: BD wasn't good, but it wasn't bad. Like one of you said, it had the impression of a well-written screwed up fanfiction.

I really can't wait until Midnight Sun.

What are you talking about? Renesmee is the whole reason the book even exsisted. :/
