The Arctic fox was storming his way out of Sirius's house, heading for a casino. He was being driven insane by the kids running around that house. All their out of control hormones were too much for Astennu to handle. So he had decided to go see what kind of 'fun' he could discover at the casino to get out of the house. Why a casino though? Well because it had an Egyptian theme, which is where he grew up. He grew up there as a spoiled slave. And he was curious as to what the casino had there that could remind him of home. Once inside though... Astennu was sorely disappointed. There was not much to remind him of home. Just gaudy decorations and confusing distractions. He sighed, miffed. But he was there and had stolen some money from Sirius and Youko to spend so... might as well try his luck. So the blue-eyed uke wandered around the premises to try and find a game to try out, ignorant of the fact that he was scantily clothed and his golden jewelry was bound to attract attention; wanted and unwanted.

Chance was already at one of the tables. This place was of course new, because he did not really like to visit a place more than once. It was what Americans would consider Egyptian-themed, though of course it was more flashy with gold leaf and acrylic "lapis" than anything resembling authentic.
When Astennu approached the table, he naturally assumed the white fox was part of the staff, dressed as he was. He did not notice the authentic glint of gold and the flecks of crystal within the veined lapis set into his jewelry. He held up his empty glass. "Get me another. Thanks," he said doing little more than glancing at him. He was in the middle of a game... and he was not doing too terribly either!

The arctic fox was surprised and paused at the empty glass the stranger held before him as he was passing by. The nerve of this complete stranger; did no one have manners? Not that... Astennu had many manners himself, truth be told.
"Excuse me?" Astennu asked, his voice incredulous as he gave the unicorn hybrid a cold glare with his icy blue eyes. "You must be blind, I'm not a waiter nor would I want to be to the likes of you," the fox growled. And instead of picking up the glass, he knocked it over in hopes to ruin the unicorn's chances of winning whatever game it was he was playing. Astennu didn't know the game, but he figured anything to distract the hybrid would make him lose.

Chance set his cards face-down with a lifting of his eyebrow and turned to the fox. "Well you're dressed like the staff. If not, you must be looking for the con down the street..." He had to admit the fox's attire was far better quality than any the hospitality staff had on now. So then, the care put into this costume must be that of a cosplayer. Perhaps a Stargate lover..?

Astennu had his arms crossed as he continued to glare at the unicorn. "You really must have you eyes checked, because anyone who has a decent IQ would realize what I have on is the real deal, not some cheap imitation." He was getting angrier with each word that fell out of this stranger's mouth. But what really set him off was Chance's last sentence.
"A con," he repeated, words dripping with hated. "Are you joking? Do I look like some nerd that gets off getting dressed up as some stupid character from god knows what kind of idiotic fiction!?" Astennu nearly screeched, shaking with fury. He was one thin nerve from starting a nice bloody brawl.

Chance rolled his eyes. "Are you done? Have you stopped to look around? You completely fit in with the gaudy faux-Egyptian theme. If you don't want to be mistaken for staff, then dress like you aren't. It isn't that difficult." With an annoyed sigh he went back to his game, the others at the table wearing various expressions of amusement. Someone shrugged.

Oh but the little arctic fox wasn't about to let him get off that easily. "I fit in, hm? Obviously you wouldn't know quality if it screwed you," Astennu spat, grabbing a hold of the unicorn's arm to turn him back around. "And no I am not finished - not until I get an apology out of you. Though I doubt that'll happen since you seem to be the pompous type that is always right." Astennu didn't care about the looks the others had, their little game could wait until he got what he wanted.

Chance was surprised... surprised that he had been moved around so easily. "And obviously you are just looking for a fight. Everyone else around here is just trying to have a good time. So if I apologize for assuming you're staff, which is completely understandable and something that any person might have done, will you apologize for throwing my glass on the floor?"

Astennu rolled his eyes and growled again at him. "If you were to give a sufficient and meaningful apology, I may just apologize for that. But, seeing as how you don't seem to be the type of person to so willingly give in, I seriously doubt you'd apologize. Or at least give one I would accept," the fox retorted, wrinkling his nose in disgust at the stranger.

Chance watched him for a moment impassively. The thing about it was, he was not upset in the least. Sure, he was missing a few turns and he really would have liked another drink, but nothing was lost. But the fox's composure was about to be. "Is that so?" Swallowing a faint smirk, he rose to his feet and bowed in a courtly fashion, taking the fox's hand in his own. "Please forgive my hasty assumption. It was unfair and uncalled for." Then he kissed the top of Astennu's hand and let it go.
He then straightened and tilted his head ever so slightly. He was waiting.

Astennu watched Chance carefully, frowning slightly as the unicorn continued to watch him. But he let his expression falter into surprise as Chance suddenly bowed and kissed his hand. When his hand was released, it fell limply to the fox's side. That... b*****d could be a gentleman? Who knew!? What was he, some modern-day knight-in-shining-armor-disguised-as-an-a**?! The arctic fox blinked a few times, obviously still stunned and at a loss at what to do with himself. Should he be flustered, angered? Should he storm off or drag the unicorn into an abandoned room to demand some answers!?
He looked up at Chance, attempting to compose himself. "Well, perhaps you can act like a decent person," he grumbled, shaking his head. Damn him. Damn him to the farthest reaches of hell.

"Looks like we've both been assuming a bit too much," Chance retorted in a light tone, tail swishing behind him. The fox still had not apologized. And the boys were getting restless, though admittedly, still amused.
This was almost more fun than the card game. But he was actually, in theory, getting money from that...
Then one of the guys did the unthinkable. He spoke up: "Why don't you two just get a room and get it over with? Let the rest of us get on with our game." He received a grumble or two that may have been agreement or argument.
Chance turned, hands on his hips. Really, this was as much a game and a good show as the rest. He wore a faint grin, but decided that he would let Astennu have the first reply. Normally he might have been all for that, this guy obviously needed a good lay, or a couple of stiff drinks (then a good lay?), but Chance had something else to consider. Or rather, someone else... It was unprecedented and rather confusing (not to mention up in the air), and the reason he had come here tonight. He wanted to try to sort through what it all meant - but forget about it first? sure, why not. And damn this fox for reminding me about it.

"So it would seem," Astennu replied with a nod, still trying to shake himself from his thoughts. Of which included continuing with their banter, starting a fight, and wondering how Sirius and Youko would react if he brought Chance home.
But he was pulled out of those ideas from the 'suggestion', a frown overtaking his features. "What, do you think this is foreplay!?" the fox asked, trying not to snarl. He actually didn't think it was a bad idea but... well, he hadn't planned for this. Nor was he all that interested. Just... curious. Astennu glanced over at Chance, a wondering look replacing his previous anger.

"If it isn't, then what is it?" Laughter rolled its way around the table.
"Of course it isn't," Chance chuckled, patting Astennu on the shoulder. It was becoming painfully obvious that this fox not only would not apologize, but would be dangerous to tease on any level. If this had happened a month or two ago he might have tried to tame this one, but it was just different now. He reached down for his glass and set it on a table, then took his seat.

Astennu fumed at the laughter. "Why don't you all go screw yourselves," he grumbled, glowering. His icy gaze flickered up to Chance as a hand came to pat his shoulder. "And let me guess, you're going to shoo me off and let me be on my merry way, aren't you?" Astennu asked, his ears laid back as he tried not to growl at Chance. Oh this night was turning out to be juuuust perfect.
