THE WATER FIELD!
Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water.

While Bell waited on the other side of the stadium, Renekai was talking to Dreydonna, giving her tips.
"It's simple, really," Renekai was saying, "All you have to do isuse the attack I tell you to. Bell will be fighting you, but remember that she is your teammate! Do your best against her, but keep in mind that this is a friendly battle. No holding grudges; I've already talked to her about that. You might lose, but don't worry! This is your first battle, so just do as well as you can." Renekai smiled at her new pokemon. Despite the fact that Dreydonna was a ghost pokemon, Renekai wasn't afraid of her. In fact, Dreydonna seemed friendlier and more playful than Bell!
"Ghaaaassss," Dreydonna said, licking Renekai. Renekai shuddered, for Lick was an attack, but Dreydonna's trainer didn't seem to mind too much. The Ghastly floated out above the water, ready to start. "Ghaaaaaastlyyyy..."

Bell sat on the other side of the stadium on a floating platform. Bell didn't particularly like this field, but it was better than some. Since the Delibird was experienced in battle, Renekai had decided to let Bell choose her own moves, so she didn't confuse her two pokemon in giving them both orders. Bell wasn't sure what to think of Dreydonna yet, but in any case, Bell wanted to win this battle. "Del!" she said when she saw that the Ghastly was ready.
Bell stepped forward on her platform, ready to fight. She narrowed her eyes, tensing for the moment to strike. Would Dreydonna strike first? It seemed unlikely... Bell readied herself to fight.

"Quick! Use Shadow Ball!" Renekai shouted before Bell could strike first.
"Gaaaasss...." Dreydonna charged up a Shadow Ball from the purple mist around her. "Lyyyyy!" Dreydonna fired the Shadow Ball, aiming for Bell's stomach.
"Depite the hitpoint and experience disadvantage," Renekai said quietly to herself. "There is a possibility that we could win..."

Bell managed to dodge a direct hit, but she was still hurt. "Del..." she grimaced. Alright, you wanna fight with ranged attacks? Bell could do ranged.
She charged up a beam in her mouth, and multicolored lights began to dance on the ceiling and reflected in the water. Bell shot out an Aurora Beam at Dreydonna.

"Mimic!" Renekai called out quickly.
Dreydonna shot an Aurora Beam out of her mouth, and the two beams collided. Slowly, Dreydonna's beam pushed Bell's back towards her. Now it was time to see if Bell could dodge a double beam attack!
"There you go, Dreydonna! Keep at it," Renekai said, mostly to herself.

Bell broke off her Aurora Beam and dove into the water, and just in time! The two Aurora Beams hit the far wall, causing a mini-explosion and much rubble.
Bell concentrated under water, closing her eyes. She had to hold her breath, but she would be okay for a while. Ripples formed around Bell, and suddenly a large waves flew out from around Bell and went straight for Dreydonna! Bell had used Water Pulse to her advantage and caused the water in the gym to attack along with her super sonic waves.

"Ghas!" Dreydonna said as the water hit her. She struggled to stay in the air for a moment before bursting out of the wave. The waterfell through her, though she did seem to have been hurt a bit.
"Hang in there, Dreydonna! Lick!"
Dreydonna swooped down on Bell for one of her most favorite attacks. Sticking out her long tongue, Dreydonna tried to lick Bell full up the side of her face, ready to savor the chills it would send up the Delibird's spine.

Bell didn't want that slimy thing touching her feathers! She swam away as fast as she could, narrowly avoiding the paralyzing attack. From her position a few feet away, Bell shot another Aurora Beam at Dreydonna.
Bell felt her feathers soaking through. In a moment, even her down feathers would be wet! She had to get out of the water, and soon. Bell was built for freezing cold ice and snow, not for a lukewarm swimming pool!

"Dodge it and Lick!" Renekai called.
Dreydonna flew out of the way of the beam and soared towards Bell once more. She extended her long tongue once more, ready to paralyze her teammate for sure this time!
Renekai understood that she needed Bell paralyzed if she wanted to win, although she would have to get Bell on land ASAP if the paralysis worked. Dreydonna wouldn't be able to dodge around forever!

Bell did a kind of involuntary kick as the tongue touched her, forcing herself onto a floating platform. Because of this, the tongue couldn't keep her paralyzed for long; Bell had jerked away before too much damage was done.
Still, Bell felt unprotected as Dreydonna floated above her, waiting for Renekai's next order.

"Shadow Ball!" Renekai commanded. The paralysis wouldn't hold for long, but it would help.
Dreydonna charged and shot another Shadow Ball onto the helpless Delibird. With Bell laying there so quietly, she almost seemed to be asleep... Sure, Bell's eyes were open, but just thinking about it made Dreydonna hunger for delicious, dark nightmares~
