I'm sorry to have to make this thread and sorry that you have to read it (if you are reading it, that is). However, it is extremely irritating to have to tell individual users about the same things over and over, so I may as well just have a sticky for you to read and if you don't follow this, it may result in warnings or a ban ('cos I'm not too happy). But I highly doubt and highly hope that this will not happen.
Some general things to keep in mind when Role Playing:
Please be literate. Typos are fine. I haven't had much problem with this, but occasionally it does come up. THIS IS A LITERATE RP GUILD. Please don't post actions between atseriscs (these things: *) and please put dialog between double quotation ("). This is just like a book you read (prose, not poetry). Also, thoughts should go between single quotations (') and perhaps even Italics. This helps a lot to make what you are saying clear.
If you are discussing out of character (OOC) topics, please place it between double parentheses ( (( )) ), brackets ([]), or with OOC: placed before the text and BIC (back in character): placed before RP text. This is much less confusing. Or just find some other way to let us know this is not what your character is doing/saying like separating from the RP text with a line of dashes or underscores (H-chan's method).
To make sure you have read this, please post "I will RP by these rules" in this sticky. Also, any questions may be asked here and as soon as I see them, I will answer them.
PLEASE read the other's posts. I understand you don't want to backtrack through many pages, so you may ask another user who is RPing for a brief history or summery, but read the posts of others who RP at the same time as you. Meaning if you post, then someone else posts, don't ignore their post. Read it. They will read yours and may even be reacting to your post. PLEASE try to interact with the other users. Don't let them do all the work. If a user or users try to pull you in multiple time without you so much as making an effort to join in, this will result in a warning and eventually, if repeated, a ban. I really hate it when some people try really hard to include everyone and then the person just role plays by themself and asks why people aren't RPing with him/her. WE ARE TRYING VERY HARD TO INCLUDE YOU, PLEASE TRY TO BE INCLUDED. If, for example, everyone is in chemestry class, don't go to the swimming pool and start showing of your thong to a non-existant audience. It is extremely annoying and a waste of text.
PLEASE don't bump the RP unless it is extremely close to the bottom of the first page or on the second page. I understand people don't like it when an RP "dies," but it disrupts to flow of an RP to have too many bumps.
I will catch you if you do not follow these. Geeky as it may sound, I have read every page in all the current RPs (and even in some that used to be lively and are now dead... and those things are, like... sixty pages long). I read, I react.

I am PISSED. Why aren't you reading this?!? And if you are, why aren't you following it?!? It's not that hard, people!! Being gramatically correct and denoting OOC chat only takes five seconds longer. When you don't do it, I have to take ten minutes to go through everything and correct you.
I am seriously considering BANNING people who do not follow these simple rules.
