The Fire Field A series of thick rock pillars, all different sizes of height, reach towards the stadium ceiling from a pool of hot lava. While there is a fire-proof net far below to catch any pokemon that falls off the platforms, the rock pillars themselves are very hot to touch. They can cause burns if your pokemon stand still for a set period of time. The air around the field is very heavy from the extreme heat.

 The moment Kayla walked into the stadium, she let out a loud groan and screamed in frustration. "Why? Why must we always get the stupid fire field!?" Kayla kicked a stray rock that was close the the platform before getting on it. Kayla was already starting to sweat at the blazing heat of the lava.
Kayla pulled out one of her pokeballs and looked at it. "I'm sorry, Hea but your first battle will be like hell." Kayla threw the pokeball into the battle field.
With the burst of yellow beams of light, a girafarig came out rearing up, all ready to battle. "Brrrriiing!" Hea started stomping her hoof and tossing her head around.
"And here I thought you were docile." Kayla teased seeing how ready Hea was eager to battle as she pulled out a wet rag and tried to dampen her skin but the rag itself was quickly evaporting the moister.

((Foe FireFoxNinetails uses MIMIC! ))  Luna stepped onto the trainer platform cheerfully with her new swablu on her shoulder. Both seemed to be pretty cheerful. "Hehe, your first debut Chirper, excited?" Luna asked her pokemon, taking off its hat. "And I'll be holding this for you, to make sure it's not burned."
"Bluu bluuuuuu~!" Chirper replied, chewing a lock of Luna's hair affectionately. He really had no clue what a "battle" was, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle! And then maybe he would be able to sneak a shiny thing or two from the field...if it wasn't too hot.
"Haha, okay, get out there you silly!" Luna said, shaking her shoulder to make a point. Chirper immediately took off and started flying around the stadium. He was absorbing every detail of the field, not only for battle purposes, but also for looting later.
Luna faced Kayla. "Ready for our second match? Chirper may be new and have a bit less stamina than your girafarig, but we aren't going to make it an easy fight!"

"Alright, we'll start it off~" Luna said cheerfully. She was quite excited for her new pokemon's first battle. The trainer decided that Chirper would definately excel. Her new swablu was strong! "Okay, let's start this off with a theft attack!"
Chirper gave a few chirps of excitement. "Blubluu~!" He loved his theft attack. Usually he got some shiny item out of his attack reciever. Maybe this yellow-brown thing with spots would have a shiny item too! The swablu flew towards the girafarig at max speed, glowing with black energy. He swooped at the girafarig's neck, scanning for items while slicing by.

Kayla watched as Chirper flew towards Hea with lightening speed, preparing for an attack. Kayla wanted Hea's first battle to be a win. "Hea, dodge it!"
Hea kept her eyes on Chirper as much as she could but she was going too fast. She attempted to dodge when the little blue bird aimed at her neck by moving to the side but she was too slow and got sliced by Chirper's talons. "Brrrriiing!" Hea cried out in alarm but not overly hurt.
"That's alright, Hea! She was fast. Let's show her your Thunder!"
"BBrriiing." Hea's eyes was set forward as sparks started to form at her stubs on her head. Clouds in the stadium started to form and darken as seconds go by. Lightening and thunder could be seen and heard as it grew thicker and darker. With an loud, "Brriiii!", Hea stood on her hind legs and released the attack on Chirper.

As the storm clouds began to roll in, both Luna and Chirper's danger went off. Chirper did not like getting shocked. Darn, this didn't bode well for the battle. But all they had to do was keep on attacking, right? "Chirper, try to avoid the thunder and give it another round of your theft attack!"
Chirper was a bit disappointed that Hea had no items on her. That ruined the whole purpose of his attack! It wasn't fair. The thunder clouds boomed and forshadowed electricity. Oh...he should avoid those...or he could just attack the source before it hit! Promising himself to sneak away from his trainer and raid the streets of Katarina for his clever idea later, Chirper flew towards Hea with another theft attack.

Kayla growls in frustration that the Thunder did not work. Why must battling with Luna always go badly for her. She had no idea why battling with Luna always pushes her buttons the wrong way.
Before Kayla could think up of a plan, Chirper lashed out with another dark type attack that sent Hea crying out in pain when the little bird slashed at her rump. Hea started to run to get away from the evil little bird.
"This has got to stop now! Hea! Use Confusion!" Kayla yelled.
"Brriiing." Hea halted her running when Chirper was no longer after her, and sent waves of sonic waves at Chirper. It was a risk but a risk that she was willing to take.

Luna looked at the confusion attack with a grin. Kayla had just used a status move on one of her anti-status move pokemon. "This won't work on Chirper~" Luna chimed. Well, at least she hoped it didn't. "REFRESH!"
"B--b-bluuuuuuuuuuu..." Chirper replied, a bit disoriented at the sonic waves. His flying was eratic. But he DID realize he could get rid of it. If only he could get his brain to recall that glowy blue move that would cure him of this disorientation. Chirper closed his eyes and attempted to use refresh while somehow avoiding a headfirst crash into a pillar.

Kayla crowed at the effectiveness of the Confusion attack. "Way ta go, Hea!" However, she was not out of the woods yet.
The swablu was in a confused daze, that she was having trouble flying. Everything was going well when Luna shouted, 'refresh'. Kayla's heart stopped cold. Kayla had forgotten. She had forgotten that Chirper was capable of that move and now she was in s**t of trouble.
However, the swablu's attempt was a complete fail. Chirper crashed into not one but two pillars in her confusion. Kayla sighed in relief. "Damn that was close! We need to get moving Hea or we are dead meat. Use Thunder again!"
The remaining clouds was starting to fade when Hea called upon them again. They rebuild and struck down on Chirper.

Luna smacked her forehead as she saw Chirper's flying fail completely as the swablu crashed into a pillar - the refresh had not worked. Soon afterwards, the thunder attack crashed down on the defenseless flying pokemon. "Ahaha, crap, confusion."
Chirper fell into the net, just above the flaming lava pit. "Bluu...blu..u..."
"Ack, Chirper, hang on!" Luna cried, knowing that the pokemon was probably in a tight situation. They needed to get out of it. Somehow. "Try another refresh!"
The swablu started to weakly glow with white light again and Luna bit her bottom lip in anticipation. 'Come on now Chirper...'

Luck must have been with them again being that Chirper didn't manage to cure himself from his confusion but hurting himself in the process. However, they cannot hope to have luck with them forever.
Hea watched in wonderment as Chirper flied into a piller. "Don't stand around like that Hea! Use Thunder again!"
Hea braced her legs and recharged her stumps on her head to create another electric attack. It wasn't long before it was released and aimed straight for Chirper again.

Chirper certainly wasn't in a nice position as another thunder attack came towards the swablu. Chirper let out a weak cry, knowing that the attack was coming. He was smart enough to understand human speech afterall.
Luna frown even harder. This was probably one of the worst moments she ever witnessed in battle. She really didn't want one of her favorite pokemon - Chirper who was usually cheerful and on top of everything - to get beat up. She had to think of something to pull through. "Mirror move!"
"bluu..."
A slight transparent coating appeared around the swablu before the thunder attack hit him straight on. The swablu cried out as electricity zapped the nerves in his body and charred his feathers. Why was he here again? He didn't like this at all.
Chirper suddenly glowed and the static on his body gathered together to form a small ray of thunder that crawled it's way back up towards Hea.

Kayla was started at the new move that Luna had commanded Chirper to act on. She had never seen it done but now is as good as a time as any, she suppose. This time, Chirper didn't confuse himself and caused an injury.
Before both pokemon and trainer knew it, Chirper glowed and a thunder cloud started to hover over Hea.
Uh oh. This can't be good. Kayla thought. "Watch out, Hea!"
It was good timing on Kayla's part because as those words left her mouth, the Thunder attack came down on Hea but agile as Hea was, she managed to dodge nimbly out of the way with each attack of thunder.
"Nice work!" Kayla praised. "We got them where we want them. Use Thunder one last time!"
"Brreee!" Hea cried out happily that the battle was near the end. Maybe she can get a snack. She was getting hungry.
Hea recharged her stubs on her head but it didn't take as much time as before when Hea send another lightening attack at the swablu.
