I have to say, mine was a blast. I wrote all over the big wall saying stuff like, "Jacob Black: I'd hit that...with a volvo," and something about Carlisle being called Dr. McSparkly. In the end, I ended up with tons of friends there. I brought one with me, and ran into four more when I got there! Two of which, I might add, had never read Twilight at all! xd They crashed the HP party last year, too, apparently, and one of them dressed up as what she called "The Comforter Monster." We ended up running around the store, buying coffee, going outside, being yelled at by a cop and kicked inside (hehe, kicked in) and being total hyper sleep deprived twerds. I hated having to wait for my book, I was number 233! D: And it only went up to 241 xD. I loved how you could walk up to anyone, tell them what team you were on and have instant friends xD and also how after the countdown to the release, half of the people screamed, "Happy new year!" Okay, Im a spazz, and it was my first release party, but hey, it was awesome. Where did you guys go? Anything interesting happen?

I want to cry. That sounds like so much fun! My cousin went to a release party and she told me similar stories. People were dressed up and freaking out everywhere. They were spazzing out because they were worried that the books would run-out before it was their turn. (My cousin was like in the last group and she almost had a heart-attack. But she got her book).
Lol. I was going to go with her, but at the last minute I couldn't. =( My parents didn't have the time/moeny to take me to Borders and I was like crying . At least they made up for it by getting Breaking Dawn for me ASAP.
I woke up because my dad threw the book on my bed and I squealed. Haha. Ah, August 2nd was honestly one of the best days I've had. XD And I did nothing but read...
Okay, I'm gonna stop ranting about stuff that has nothing to do with the topic. >w<

I went to the release party too. It was so much fun. There was an ice cream store acroos the street, and a cub, and a world market, so me and my firends went and bought rasberries and pocky to eat inside, and stuffed them in my friends backpack 'cause they wouldn't allow outside food, and we got ice cream. Needless to say, the only thing keeping us up long enough was the caffeine and the adrenaline. XD Normally, we're the type who go to bed around 9:30-10. And the host person had only read twilight, so when she told us "team edward on the right, and Team jacob on the left, she got mad at us for sitting in the middle. LOL I had a team switzerland shirt and my friend had the flag. And the whole time, we had to be the ones to keep team edward from killing team jacob or vice versa. And there were two girls that dressed up like bella's truck. XD

Our BAM was terribly disorganized. I felt bad for laughing at them. Well, only a little. >.> They tried to have some trivia contest, but the crowd was too loud and it never finished. Then they had a drawing and they had the most fool-poof way of handing out prizes. Yell out your name wherever you were. Then they'd come find you. Uh-huh. Fool-proof. And the line was crazy confusing. We kept having to follow one of the employees to find the end of the line. It kept curving and curving! D= And the male employees were terrible Edward knock-offs. There weren't a lot of people dreesed up as a Twilight character that I could recognize. I did spot a Rosalie, though. But her nose was too beak-like. :/ While we were in line, there was this nine-year old girl who started shouting, "Ed-ward! Ed-ward!" And started a pathetic chant that lasted two-point-seven seconds. Same girl also started punching this boy about her age and screaming at the top of lungs about God knows what. I think he said something about not liking Edward. Then this group of twelve-year olds behind us started to gang up on this boy after he asked, "Edward who?" I was like, s**t, they're going to eat that poor boy. They smacked him around a bit until he stopped talking. When the first copies of Breaking Dawn were given out, the people who got them paraded them around proudly. One woman was even holding two copies in both of her hands and held them like well-earned trophies. I was embarassed for them. Their little parade induced screams of hatred.
All in all, I laughed and lawled all over the place...but I felt so bad for them since they were protraying themselves as kids who had lost their socail life since 2005.

I went to a release party at borders. The games were pretty pathetic, they tried trivia, but e veryone kept cheating and getting back in line and more people kept coming. They tried a scavenger hunt, but no one knew what to do (find things, come on!) They had pin the tail on the werewolf. But alot of my friends were there. We got messed up on oreo coffee blends. My friend Tina got addicted to the buttons and magnets they were selling and bought me tons of them, so I have to match her in school. Wearing a team carlisle button with all doctors should be this hot written on it. (real great for my ego, I'm sure no one will find that gay, which i'm not) there was a contest to see who could run backward balancing the book on their head the longest. When they released the book we had to line up on the "treaty line" which was tape, in numerical order. I was #558, so I ended up buying my book later in the afternoon.
It was pretty awesome, though the book wasn't what I thought it would be.

Yeah, I wasn't thrilled with the book at first...but I think it's good now.
I remember this one girl who got her book 14th or something, she say down in the line with everyone else and just kept staring at her book. We all kept telling her to start reading it already, and she refused, I think several people wanted to kill her xD

Oh yeah~! I forgot something. The BAM had a cafe and they had these specialty meals for the party. I can't remember exactly what they were, but I remember one was an "Edward" special and the other one was a "Jacob" special. I think the Edward one came with apple cider... I just remember laughing at the menus.

Ours was totally lame. It was supposed to be a Midnight Masquerade. There were so many CHILDREN it was kinda disturbing (especially after I read the book). But I did get my book second! >D At the HP7 event I got my book 3rd, which was even worse because there were more fans...and a lot of them were rabid. Dx
This time I didn't feel as threatened. I was sorta disappointed there were no cute boys there too.

I went to a party at Borders. It was fun, and they were giving prizes for various things, Breaking Dawn buttons and stickers. <3 I'm jealous of the buttons your party had though, Edgar. That's sweet.
Let's see, you could get your face painted, which was ridiculously childish, but I got an "E" on my face anyway, because I got sick of seeing the "J"s. Umm...there was a costume contest. Some were cute, there was a girl dressed up as Emily and she had the scars on her face. There was a group (an actual 2 guys and a girl) that came as Edward, Bella, and Jacob (they won). A few of the Cullens, but no one really great. Someone came as Alice, but she was WAY goth about it. Couple of Bellas in prom dresses. Uh, they had a "Go Ask Alice" thing, but I didn't go to that. And, then they had trivia. It went okay. Some questions were super easy, some were tougher, which was good for true fans. It was funny because a lot of the people running the night hadn't read the books, and it was kind of like, "Umm...how about you let us run the trivia, just in case one of the answers is correct, but more elaborate?" That happened on a question, a girl was EXACTLY right, but the paper said something simpler. They had "Bella's Balance", you had to walk with a book on your head.
Then they drew some door prizes (nothing related to the books) and then we got in line. I was happy with my number, it only took about 15 minutes for me to get my book once they actually got started. It was comical because as we were waiting in line, a little before midnight it started pouring: thunder, lightning, the works. And someone shouted: "BASEBALL GAME!" And every burst out laughing, probably because we were all thinking the same thing. It was fun. I'd go again.

I envy them too. Ours was so lameee. I wish we had fun things to do. Dx Actually...there was one really cute boy. x'D But he worked there and looked sorta out-of-it. Like he was amazed anyone had shown up at all. lol

I'm too lazy to type up my release party experience, so I'm letting my friend (fire_demon_mistress) post hers! biggrin I'll post my own later.
Fire_demon_mistress: I loved my release party. I went with blueflame adn a bunch of others. They had some good games till twelve...Like the Bella Balance game I stayed in for a while suprisingly. THen they had a 'Ask Alice' and face painting. I just got bite marks and dripping blood..no one could draw the new moon flower...:,(Then I drew Bella's wedding dress. THen we had a debate over who should get Bella, Jacob or Edward....I was for team Mike Newton! I rocked it btw. Then we had a trivia which was pretty good. my friend J-chan kept screaming out Count Chocula for most of the answers people laughed alot. THen I won t-shirt it was Bad A**. Also we had a costume contest I decided that since I couldn't be Cloe (Inside joke) I would go as Rosalie {I have the hair}. Blueflame went as Jane and some one else went as Emily and JAsper (Who was a girl) and a Alice. Then they had a screning of a trailer...(didn't watch) I did the Time Warp Dance instead with Blueflame and some one else. Finally we got our books and Calenders and I slapped someone for calling Alice a Butch.... smile it was a great night!!!!
I (Blueflame) have pictures that I'll include with my story. :]

*Waves at people* Hello! ^u^ Here's my story!
Okay so about nine my friend (Kirria), my mom and I went to the Waldenbooks where the party was being held. When we got there I noticed my friends standing around so I went to hang out with them. Eventually we saw people starting to line up to get their wristbands so we went got in line, too. We also got cute little buttons and stickers. <3 An employee told us what was going to happen (games, trivia and the book release at midnight). There was fortune-telling by "Alice", a poster you could sign (I wrote, "Good luck with forever, Edward and Bella! ~Rae P.S. Haha Jacob" hehehe), face-painting, Trivia, a Costume/Shirt contest, Debate (Team Edward vs Team Jacob), and an event where you walked with a book on your head. neutral My group split up to do various activities. I was kind of disappointed to see that there weren't too many people there. Maybe 30 tops. Anyways, I got my face painted to have streaks of blood trickling down the sides of my mouth. My friend, Delece, went as Jasper and she got her face painted to have blood pouring down her mouth. The costume/shirt contest was really cool. My friend, Sarah, had this awesome shirt she made that said, front: "I can sparkle too!" back: "beat that Edward! Nyaa~" and it was covered in glitter. I went as Jane (that's why I got the face paint, lol) and I wore reg. clothes under a cloak. There was a girl who went as Emily and she wore an apron with a pic that says, "I *heart* Sam" it was sooo cute. My friend Sarah won the shirt contest and I won the costume contest. We won shirts that said, "Breaking Dawn: August 2nd, 2008" on the front and, "It left my breathless" on the back. <3 During the trivia my friend Kirria won the same shirt because she answered a really hard question correctly during the trivia. My friend John was hilarious. We were allowed to shout out the answers during the trivia so he shouted, "ME!" or, "Count Chocula!" randomly. After that they showed the teaser trailer, the ballet studio scene and then we lined up to get books a few minutes before midnight. Kirria and I tried to start a wave, but it didn't catch on. XD And after we got our books, Delece, Kirria and I did the Rocky Horror Picture Show's Time Warp Dance. The party was alot of fun despite it's size. I'll upload my pictures later. :[
Sorry, it's kind of long. sweatdrop
