I'm deciding whether I want to buy the scroll Deodorize. I need to know what creature aggro's by smell? There must be some since there's a need for the spell.

no monsters agro by smell. some monsters TRACK by smell (this is how they follow you after you agro them and are trying to run away). Deodorize is for all intents and purposes bloody useless.

whenever you have enough gil to spend for shits n' giggles, it's funny to cast them on galka. But besides that, the spell is useless.

OMG
There ARE monsters that aggroed on scent, I guarantee this to you.
First, remember the wolves that appear at night? That's one.
Second, yes... there are those that track on smell. Crawlers, that is... but you can just run into water to get rid of them (if there is a water source nearby).
Third, may be you have heard of "blood aggro"? When you are weakened and someone tossed deodorize on you, it means you will certainly get aggro when your weakened status wears off. Usually it's because you're soaked with blood if your HP is that low.
If you're planning to play normally, deodorize isn't need much.
However...
If your friend called you to go help kill Vrtra or going somewhere with lots of skeletons, ghosts, or wolves that are higher lv to you, make sure you have this spell to toss on yourself or your friend after you are raised up, sneak up, and the weakened is wearing off soon.

I have seen that wolf once in W. Ronf. & I was able kill it with no problem.
What crawlers? The crawlers I've encountered never aggro'd me. I tend to aggro them, lol.
I've heard of blood aggro. But that usually happens to me with Orcs when I just finished fighting a even match fight or so. They just know when I'm weak, lol, to go in for the kill. The losers. Normally they avoid me like the plague. The wimps.

The wimps. - That type of mob, yes. - Why don't you try hitting one and run into water? lol The easiest place to try this is east sarutabaruta near windurst. - You got it a bit wrong, orcs always aggro on sight. If they see you sitting, they hit you. (even they are your too weak, but if you're standing and they are too weak... they won't try to hit you.) The one that have blood aggro are skeletons, ghosts, wolves, or some dark mobs like shadows. (If they are not your "Too weak to be worthwhile")
