I'm less likely to look for new updates in older/existing threads. espcially on slower computers, i don't really feel like sifting through convesation and crtique to find art, unless i'm other wise interested. I guess it's like Iconoclat's thing about linking to art
i always make new threads for new artwork, but is that annoying? would it be better to keep my junk to fewer threads as possible? just wondering.

I myself prefer looking at new threads containing a few pieces rather than a giant art dump. Plus, the downside with an art dump is that people won't usually notice when you update it. D:

I don't think it's annoying. I think it's easier for some people if they want to go back and look at the comments on their own work when it's all in one place rather than in a bunch of different threads. I guess it also works for people who post frequently.
I probably could make my own thread and stick with it, but I don't think I post often enough for it to really make a difference. I don't mind what other people do, though.

I make a new thread each time. I don't think that one megathread collecting all of one's work is necessary here... that is what my webpage is for.

There is a general disadvantage to "sketchdump" threads, because people are less likely to view them. However, the people creating these threads really have the best interests at heart; generally they just don't want to clutter up the guild with work they feel they want to share, but don't feel is good enough to merit its own thread. So, I guess, I can see both sides of that coin. I tend to stick with only putting a few pieces in one thread, though, and usually all in the first post.
