Running away -by me<3 Chapter 1 My legs begged me to stop. But I couldn't. I had just gone a little while but my legs where already weak and my lungs where on fire. I looked at my destination. The safe pine forest just up ahead. The place that I had been warned not to go to. The place that I was hoping could save me. "There she is, heading to Raven forest!" A voice I have grown to fear shouted. Looking up at the jet black clouds I called for rain. Begging the goddesses to wipe away my tracks and hide me from the strange men. A ecstatic giggle rang out of me as the clouds began to let go of it's prisoner, the rain. As I ran into the forest I heard one last thing. "Did she go in there?" "No I saw something goin' that way, lets hurry! We can't lose her!" My whole body thanked me when I sat down near an oak tree. But I can't rest for very long. I had to find a safe place to sleep. Looking around I saw a hollow tree. Crawling over to it I fell asleep.
"Victoria, wake up," A sweet voice called. I opened my eyes to a bright familiar room. "Mom?" I mumbled. "It's time to collect the herbs, the rite will be starting today," She stroke her hand threw my hair. "Today!" I jumped out of bed and quickly started to get dressed. "Yes, you will become a witch today. You will be able to use everything I have tough you." She smiled at the thought. I grinned remembering what had happened just recently, I had become a women. I ripped a brush threw my crimson curls. "But there is something I must tell you!" Her voice had worry in it. "What?!" The tone of her voice made me stop what I was doing. "You are..." A knocking on the door interrupted her. "Stay here and stay quite," she ordered. I groaned but didn't complain. She shut my door as she went out. "Hello?" She asked in her kind gentle voice. "By orders of the king, we have come here to take the Miss. Victoria!" Looking threw the crack in the door I saw he was a guard. "What! Why?" She asked innocently, But it sounded like she acting. "You know perfectly well why!" He snapped. "Oh very well I will go wake her," She sighed. He made a move to follower her. "Sir, she is still in her night clothes," Mom explained. Looking down at his feet he blushed but made no move to come any closer to my door. Walking in my room she looked worried. "Mom whats wrong? Where are they taking me?" I whispered. "Don't talk just listen," she directed me, walking over to my window. "You are a very special girl, don't let them catch you! Victoria I love you! But you can't come back here for a while," She opened up my window,"Go to Raven forest, someone will help you there!" "But mom, You said that I should never go to Raven forest, that it was to dangerous!" I whispered as low as I could. "We have no choice!" she snapped pushing me out the window, "Now go!" "Mom?" I cried. Throwing a milky amber bag at me she said, "Put that around you head, don't lose it. And don't open it unless you are in grave danger!" Walking away from the window she began her play of, I ran away last night. I put the tied the string connected to the bag around my head and began my slow walk to the forest.
"Fish, get your fish here!" A marketer shouted as I walked by. Should I go back? I thought about how mad Mom would get if Idid. " 'Xuse me miss, are you Victoria?" A boy asked, pulling me out of my daze. I nodded. "She's over 'ere!" He waved at a gaurd. 'Don't let them catch you!' Mothers words ran threw my mind. My legs acted on there own. Then started moving as fast as they could, but with this impossible dress I'm sure he saw me.
Hiding behind a basket I listen to see if I was cought. "Good work boy!" I peaked out to see him patting the boy on the back. "Do I get paid now sir?" he asked hopeful. "Is she in me hands?" The guard asked rudly, his voice rich with accent and unproper grammer. "No she isn't! Now go get her! but be carful lad!" "Why?" " 'Cause she be a witch!" hitting the boy over the head as he walked away. I started to let out a sigh but stopped it.
I have to do what my Mother said. I have to go to Raven forest. For some reason the guards what me. And for some reason the forest I have grown to fear would be a place of safety.

Chapter 2
When the boy finally decided that I was gone I stood up. Careful not to get anyone's attention I seached the market for anything that could help. Spying a belt with bags connected to it I started to take out my coin purse.
"I see your eyeing very fine merchandise. May I recommend something else for a fine traveler like you?" The cart owner asked me, guessing I was a traveler. When I looked at him he continued, without an aswer. "I have a fine peice of cloth here. Can be worn at night, so those nasty robbers don't see that you are a girl! It is called a cloak!" I had to stop his babbling.
"I will take the belt, and throw the cloak, too." I hesitated giving him my second to last coins. Taking then, he checked to see if they where real. "Thank you!" I became invisible as another customer looked at his stuff. Giving a sigh I tied the cloak around my neck, and tried to put the belt on. Then I realized I had bought a man's belt!
"Can I borrow your knife real quick?" I hasked the crafty merchant. He quickly handed it to me so he could continue with his deal.I thought about how stupid I would look wearing a dress with a belt. So I put it around my waist. Cutting off the extra, I handed his knife back.
Before anyone could even loo at me I put the hood up. My breath stopped as the boy from earlier passed by me. Peaking out from the corner of my eye I saw him asking another lady if she'd seen me. I started breathing again. He didn't see me, or at least didn't know it was me. I started walking, knowing that it now be easy making it to the forest.
A smile spread across my face as I saw the gate. Soon I would be in the forest. Whatever was there would fix this and I would have my rite. Life would return to normal. A strange feeling went over me. Like someone is watching me. I turned my head slightly. Standing about 10 feet away was the boy, staring at me.
Snapping my head back I tried to calm myself. He is just looking for me. He has no clue I am Victoria. Cinnamon sugar cookies filled my noise. I seached for where they where. Right next to the gate was a stand. An Idea hit me. I will pretend to be looking at the bakery stand till he leaves, then get out of this city.
"Hello sir, boy those cookies sures smell good!" I said in a higher voice, " How much are they?" The old baker man smiled at me as I walked over to his stand. "Only a coin per bag." He bellowed in his crackly voice. I pretended to study them, but really looked at the boy. Trying not to scream I took out my coin purse.
"Here!" I took out my last coin. "I'll pay for those!" Interupted a voice I knew. The boy handed him a coin. "Oh, looks like you have an admirer, miss." The old backer laughed remembering times when her probably did the same to girls. I turned a little so the boy couldn't see my face.
"Thank you!" I almost forgot my high voice. He grabbed my hand when tried to walk away. I tried to think of a way out of this but couldn't.
"Have you see a skinny red head? She is not that tall and has an elf like face." he asked. I thanked to goddesses that he had not see my face. “No, sorry!” I quickly replied. “Oh…” I tried to walk away again.“Where are you going?” he asked. “Uh, my little sister is uh sick and wanted cookies, so…” I babbled. “Can I come and see her?” If I had been simply shopping for Mother, and if he was older I would be flattered. I would say, ‘Please come for dinner!’ But I none of those are true. “Sorry, I can’t risk anyone getting sick,” I lied. Pulling my hand away I forced my legs to work.
The boy’s gaze pierced me as I walked up to the gate. The guard went in front of me as I tried to go out of the gate. “Sorry, we have to check everyone who goes out. Looking for one called Victoria!” He growled rudely at me.
“Sorry, haven’t herd of her!” I snapped back. “Take of your hood,” he ordered. I hesitated so he snapped it off. My elbow long curls blew in the breeze. 'What is your name, girl!” “Um…Lillie,” I used Mother’s name. He looked like he didn’t believe me.
“Boy come over here!” “Yes?” “You saw the female, Victoria, is this her?” He asked him. I knew I was caught. Would I be able to run? I looked at my dress. I wouldn’t be able to out run anyone. Giving the boy a pleading look I tried to cast a spell. Universe that surrounds me, make my face unfamiliar.
“Nope,” He simply said. My spell worked. “You may pass, sorry for the trouble,” The guard looked sorry for himself. “You should be!” I put my chin up and walked out of the gate.
The bright sun shone in my eyes. I gasped. Green hills covered with buttercups fill the land to the east. To the West, another town. And right in front of me was Raven forest.
The last time I went out of the city was when I was little. I wanted to go in the forest to get my lost cat. Mother caught me before I got far, but I saw something before she pulled me away. A little boy holding my cat.
“Hey!”I turned around to see the boy following me. “Yes?” I asked not stopping. “I need to talk to you Victoria!” His voice had urgency in it. I froze. Had the spell not worked. Had he lied to the guard.

-Chapter 3-
Taking a deep breath I let it out slowly. "I told you, I am Lillie!" I tested, not turning around. "Don't worry, I'm not turnin' you in. Just, please, I need to talk to you!" He grabbed my wrist. "I'm sorry. I'm on an important erne for my sick sister. So I can't talk!" I added onto my lie shaking him off. "Victoria! I just have a few questions!" I didn't answer so he continued, "Are you a witch?" I knew the answer, yes. It burned on my tongue. But if I said it would he know it is me? "No I am Cristian! And my name is lillie!" Picking up my dress I started to walk a bit faster towards the forest. "I have asked nice!" He tried to catch up to me, so I walked faster. "Stop, or I shall tell the guard you are Victoria!" He growled, a new anger in his voice. I stopped then turned my head to glare at him.
"Are you headed to the forest?" he asked, "Speak truthfully for I know the answer!" "Then why ask?" "To see if you will answer correctly." He smiled at me, which sent another wave of anger threw my body.
"Fine, yes I am headed for the forest!" the next part came out a bit fast. "So I can get medicine for my sister." He started to laugh. "You really are caring out that sister thing." He walked closer and put his face in mine,"You are an only child."
"And how would you know that?!" I snapped. He withdrew his face relizing he was getting trapped in his own web. Taking advantage of this moment I got into his face. "You have done nothing but follow me all day! First you try to turn me in, then you black mail me!" I stopped to take a breath, "And now it seems like you stocking me!" Letting out my anger in my voice has left my face flustured and my hair a mess.
I rip my fingers threw it and continued, "What do you bloody people even what?! Today is an important day so just leave me alone!" I felt hot tears running down my face. I wipped them away with my sleave and looked at the forest.
"Victoria." he started now out of his shock,"You really don't want to know what the king want with you. But you do need to know something. But before I can tell you, you have to answer my questions. You will be in grave danger if you dont. Now are you a witch?" New tears threated, I tried to consentrate on the beauty of the wind playing in the buttercups and trees.
(A authors note here. Although I said I have finnshed this book, I do not have it on the computer. Instead I had printed it it then deleted it on its disk. So if there are grammer errors I am terrible sorry. Also this isn't the end of the chapter I just don't wanna type the rest right now. Sorry.)
