Newadi'Woyi was bored. She had been wandering through the forest for hours, just looking around at all the things there were to see, the bugs, the squirrels, the way the light fell through the leaves of the trees and hit the ground in patterns that were constantly changing as the wind blew and she walked under diffferent types of trees. She had gone off on her own to try and get away from her siblings, but now she wanted someone else she could play with. Not Adi and 'Dihi, for she had had enough of them for a while, but someone new, someone totally different, who she could explore with. She wanted to be just like her Doda and make friends with many different types of Soquili, was hoping to travel all over the world with them. But first she had to find some more friends.
With a sigh 'Woyi plopped down in the shade of a tree in the meadow that normally to her was just filled with fun because of all the insects that were just waiting to be chased. But she wanted to find a playmate to do that with first.
{{I had a little trouble coming up with this one xD *pokes at muse*}}

((Sorry for the delay luff!)) Azuell was once again away from his family, if not too terribly far. The little cream and blue eyed colt wasn't frequently compelled to explore, especially without Penance at his side, but today was not one of those days. In fact, he had happily taken to the trails of the woods and foothills, occasionally pawing at the ground and head-butting various trees. . . .
Sure, he couldn't actually fly but that didn't mean the little colt wasn't strong. He had been blessed with a fairly hard head and a lot of force packed in to one small and burly foalish body. Sure, he didn't look intimidating and Azuell didn't want to look like such a thing, but that didn't mean he wasn't strong. He could challenge any tree in the forest he wished! Thankfully though Azuell had picked up his fathers habits and much preferred to doze in the shade than actually battle. . . .
So it was today that the colt was out and about. The sunshine was warm as it fell through the limbs and leaves of the overhead foliage. Part of him wished Giruvan was around, at least then he'd have some sort of playmate, but if the spirits wished him to be alone than so be it. Picking his way through a clearing, pausing now and then to paw at the ground and swish his head threateningly at imaginary foes and wrong-doers, he almost didn't notice the red and white filly flopping off to the side.
Bucking wildly, trying to remember some of his previous training, the little colt lost his footing on a dip in the ground and with a startled yelp came to a very ungraceful tumble. Blue eyes wide with surprise, he found himself staring at another figure not far away. . . . and a girl at that!
"Oh I'm sorry!" He quickly apologized, his mothers gentle reproach and reminder of manners entering his thick skull. Attempting to roll back to his hooves as was proper, the little colt's earlier game and imagination were forgotton as someone new entered his life. "I din' see you there, resting all cozy like!" He bridged the distance between Woyi and himself, happily trotting around her as he investigated yet another new one.
She wasn't coloured at all like Alue or himself, or even Penance! She was allsorts of red and brown and white and had wings! Wow, everyone outside of the forest must have been blessed with feathers. . .thus far the only soquili he'd ever met were feathered ones! Still, Azuell couldn't help but puff out his chest with pride as he paused in his circling - he didn't want to scare the girl.
"I'm Azuell - who're you?" The best way to turn a stranger in to a friend was through introduction and Azuell did enjoy making new companions. Giru was great, and Penance was of course his absolute best friend but no one said he couldn't find some more.

{{'Tis okay hon! Now I have Azuell to play with which makes everything excellent xDD!}}
'Woyi had been peacefully minding her own business, enjoying the feeling of the breeze through her mane and the quiet sounds of the forest, letting the warmth of the sun attempt to alleviate some of her boredom when she heard a loud yelp off to her side and, out of the corner of her eye, saw a wild flash of white. The filly started with suprise, green eyes rolling nervously toward the source of the noise, muscles tensing, wings instinctively unflolding, ready even if they wouldn't take her too far as she was but a youngling. But then she found herself facing a colt and she pricked her ears, a smile forming on her face, as he apologized and darted over to her. All her earlier thoughts of boredom had vanished at the sight of the pale new Soquili. Maybe she'd make a new friend!
'Woyi lurched to her feet, prancing in place in her excitement, little head following the exuberent colt as he trotted around her, ears perked as she observed him. He was a cool creamy color, but his legs were all black, she noted, like he was wearing two-legger leggings! And he had these black things on his head. Were Etsi and 'Dihi wierd groundeds for not having pokey things on their heads?
But her musings were interrupted when he gave his name. Azuell? She tried to think, but she didn't think it meant anything in Doda's language, or that it could be translated. "Azuell, huh? Tha's a cool name!" Now it was 'Woyi's turn to circle the boy, her curiousity plain on her face as she excitedly darted around him. "I'm Newadi'Woyi, but everyone calls me 'Woyi. It means Sky Phoenix in my Doda's native tongue." She had never seen a phoenix, nor had her parents, but they sounded like cool birds. All flaming and orangey-like. She hoped to find one when she was older.
The filly paused in her inquisitive circling of the colt when she was right in front of his head, green eyes locked on his pointy head things. Then she lurched toward them and stopped right by Azuell's face, stretching her neck up to poke her nose at the base of the sharp black things. They were hard. "What're these things on your head?" 'Woyi asked as she stepped back, cocking her head as she looked at them. "They're all cool and pointy. How'd you get them? Can I have some too?" She could imagine herself running around her family tree with cool things, which would elevate her that much more over her sisters in terms of coolness. She had to do that. It would serve her sisters right for stayin' home instead of traveling about! Even if she hadn't gone far.

The little colt grinned at the reception of the red furred filly. Where he had been blessed with horns, just like his papa, this little one was made up of all sorts of colours and had wings! Given, they weren't wings like Penance or Azumoths, and were only one set instead of two like his grandpa Cyn's but they were still pretty neat! He never imagined what it would be like to fly, he much preferred keeping his hooves on the ground. Unlike some, there was no jealousy at being a half-breed (and a bit of a mutant at that!). Instead the little horned colt harbored his mothers optimism and overall joy for life - not much knocked him down.
"Newadi'Woyi," he repeated as best he could, doing his best not to slaughter it. Woyi was indeed easier to remember, if he managed to remember it at all. He'd never met any outside of Penance so this little filly was most certainly a first! "That's awfully neat that your name means something - my name is just like my Papa's but it's also kinda like my Mother's! It's a blend!" It didn't take a genius to figure out where his name had come from. While Penance had been given a name that represented, well, penance, the little cream colt had been given something a little more traditional.
Woyi, Woyi, Woyi. He tried to give the name a face and hoped upon hope he'd remember it well. As a little blue eyed thing it was sometimes hard to remember certain ideas and subjects thanks to the fact there was a billion other places and things to remember! Yes, he sometimes got distracted by his imagination or the nearby flora and fauna and often forgot his proper task at hand. For now such thoughtlessness could be blamed upon his age, though it often wasn't tolerated at home. Thankfully, it was a trait that would indeed pass with age and maturity.
As the little red hued girl trotted up and poked at his horns, his smile could only grow. He understood that not every soquili had horns or wings like his papa - all he had to do was look over at his mother or think of Muriel and he understood how grounded's most frequently looked. They often didn't come with attachments like horns or wings, so he was a little bit different in such a thing. Woyi had never seen them before so this was his first chance to actually explain who and what he was!
"I'm glad you like 'em!" He stated proudly, throwing back his head and giving his fluffy mane a little shake. "They're horns! My papa has a set just like 'em, though my Mamma and brother don't. I'd say you should have a set too but I guess it doesn't work that way. I was born with 'em, so unless you have a pair that haven't sprouted yet, I don't think you're gonna be able to have them." He frowned a bit, reaching over to eye the top of her head speculatively. His horns had sprouted after he'd been born so there was a slim to non-existence chance that hers just hadn't popped out of her skull yet.
Still, he saw no nubs and she was awfully old to be growing them now. "I like 'em lots but they get tangled and caught on things if you're not careful," he added with a patient sigh. How often had foliage ensnare him? More often than he cared to admit.

'Woyi pranced a little in her excitement, ruffling her wings as she listened to Azuell. It was such a cool sounding name. It seemed that everyone else she met outside of home had names that didn't mean things and sound all funny like her family's. Nirvana, Royce Garnet...their's weren't in different languages and she had no idea where her parents had learned such different languages. Though, of course, her mother--and Vidia--had names that meant something, but weren't as easy for another Soquili to completely mutilate.
The filly giggled, though it was a happy giggle, not a malicious one, as the pale colt carefully pronounced her name, trying his best to say it just right. "You did a good job with your first time saying it!" she exclaimed, wiggling her tail a little. "But it sounds like your name means something too. I mean, if it's kinda like your Doda's but also like your Etsi's, it means that you're their foal. So then it'll be obvious to anyone who knows them who you are! One of my sister's names is a blend of my other sister's name and mine too! I think blending's fun!"
And that was a statement that was true in all senses of the word. While the little filly had yet to encounter any with this mindset, she knew from listening to her parents and 'Suli talk that there were many in the world who believed that half-breeds of any type were a complete abomination. As a wind/grounded she wasn't too obvious of one, but she saw no reason to hide the fact and would tell anyone who would listen as soon as she could that she was proud that her momma didn't have wings, and neither did two of her four sisters. Since she had never seen horns in her herd, and since her parents didn't talk about them like they were normal, perhaps Azuell's were a sign that he was more than a regular halfbreed, but instead was what some would scornfully call a mutant.
The creamy colt's next words confirmed that for 'Woyi as he explained his pointy things. "Oooh, horns. But I still think they should be called pokey things. It's descriptive! That's cool that your doda has horns too! Is your etsi a grounded or does she have wings and not horns? And what about your brother?" 'Woyi was curious about her new friend's family, since his family sounded like they might have all sortsa cool attachments on them. And maybe someday she could meet them; the little filly adored making new friends.
But then it registered to 'Woyi that she would never have a pair like Azuell's horns and she sighed, her visions of herself with those cool spiral pokey things running around the herdlands vanishing. "Oh well," 'Woyi sighed, a her ears flicking back a moment and her wings sagging a little as she realized that she wouldn't be able to have pokey spikes on her head. "I guess I can't be all pokey too." But then with a little giggle she perked up again, wiggling her red tail. "They do look like they would get caught on stuff, like a deer's antlers," she conceded, peering up again at the horns with her bright green eyes, a little smile on her face as she imagined Azuell caught in the shrubbery, or herself stuck in a tree (highly likely), with 'Dihi and Adi looking on. "But if we were all pokey, then maybe we would all get stuck, and what a sight we would make! Imagine all adult Soquili all poking into things and getting ensnared, or always ducking to make sure they didn't become a permanent fixture of a tree."
"So maybe I'm alright without them. Wings can be enough of a trouble anyway. When they get wet they're so heavy and it takes forever for them to dry. And until you know how to work with them just right, they don't necessarily make it easy to run fast." The red filly had lost her balance many a time because she had thought it would be a good idea to use her wings while running. One especially memorable time had involved her faceplanting into a pond. It had taken 'Woyi quite a bit of time to work out when to use her wings when running and when not to, but she had finally gotten it. It had taken Adi longer, though 'Woyi wasn't going to admit to herself that Adi was the youngest sibling or cut her almost-twin any slack for that.
