[ At the Beach near the rainforest. It's sunset, about 7:00 PM. ]
Helios pranced around freely at the waters edge, not close enough to fall in and get wet, but close enough to feel the waves wash ashore, bringing a thin layer of cool water to wash at the pads of his paws. His feet were damp, but he didn't mind that too much. Helios ran along the beach, back and forth, laughing and rolling in the sand. Once his red coat was covered in the sand, he shook it off, and got up, to do the same thing again.

Sand...sand...SAND... The thing was everywhere and it was messing up his beautiful golden fur. Growling as he shook out his paws, Narcassis glanced up and down the strip his fuzzy plume raised high over the sandy expanse. Muttering as he sought to avoid a rather wet patch of sand, the golden swirled palui looked up and down the strip again at the sound of laughter. Who...in their right mind could be enjoying this? One quick glance answered his question and he sighed. Of course. That one was NOT in his right mind.

Algea was playing in the water and saw two palui at the beach. He went over to the shore to see who it was. He got out of water and one paw on the sand."Yuck i hate this suff." He went over to look at the red palui. "Why is he rolling in this suff?" "It so nasty!" Then he try to sake off all sand he could."Yuck yuck yuck!""Man I hate this suff!"

"Eeee"Butterscotch groan as she open one eye. Why dose there have to be so much noise why i'm trieding to sleep."Eee"she groan more.She open her other eye and saw 3 males there were 2 guys she knew.A dumb head and one she didn't care for.There was another one that she hadn't seen before and didn't care to meet him.She though maybe just maybe they will be quiet just this time. She was not going to get up for people the didn't instred her. She decied just to lay there and try to go back to sleep.

Helios realised more paluis were approaching.
He sighed.
Helios was actually having fun, and if he had to go ONE more day pretending to like these paluis... Helios tossed his head back, took a deep sigh, and put on a wildly obsessive grin. "Sunshiiiine! Heyy sleepy head?" He said, approaching the one palui that he felt less uncomfortable around. "How's it going?!" Helios said rather loudly, while hopping on top of her.
'A friendly look, a kindly smile, one good act, and life’s worthwhile.' Helios told himself, again and again and again... He took another deep sigh, and began to smile genuinely. "Sorry if I woke you up, I have some snacks in my baggi, if you wanted something to eat."

Shaking out his paws still Narcassis ignored Helios and in effect the others as he made a beeline for the water. He need to wash the sand from his paws...and then figure out how to get off the beach without gathering too much sand. His human had said something about not wanting him trailing sand in her home...and honestly if he could, he wouldn't. But the white grainy substance was EVERYWHERE.
Growling as he finally made it into the water he sighed in relief settling in the foaming waves. Sometimes...he wondered what it would be like to be a water attuned palui...or even ice attuned...then he wouldn't have to worry about drowning...or freezing to death. "That must be really lovely." He murmured softly to himself, letting the waves wash around his body.

Helios watched as Narcissis dipped into the water, letting the waves roll towards the golden palui. Helios sighed, his ears drooping. He knew the effects of what would happen if his ears got wet, but why? Helios couldn't help but want to be able to swim, just for a little while.
The fire palui dropped twigs and dead foilage over to one pil, and lowered his head, pulling the tip of his ear towards the pile of wood grass and leaves. Instantly, it combusted into a bright blue fire. Helios layed down quietly and solenmly to watch enviously as Narcissis stood in the water.

Algea saw Narcassis and walk over to him."Hi Baby how are ?" Then he when into the water and began to siwm. Then he saw that red palui again and yell"HEY YOU COME HERE!"Then he went to Narcassis pour water on him."How you like the water? It feel soo good! It much better then that sand suff!He began to siwm faster to show off his siwmming to Narcassis.He went under water to go find a pearl for Narcassis.He found 4 of them and give one to Narcassis."Do you like it baby? I found it just for you?"^^

Helios lowered his head. No he could NOT 'come over here', as ALgea had said, and felt like his 'disability' was being rubbed in his face. Helios watched Algea swam underwater happily, talking about it...In fact, Helios kind of wanted to show off what HE could do, and set the little showoff on fire. Helios sighed, embracing the warmth of the campfire he created.
Helios then saw something shiny...and anything shiny had to be a miracle. 4 teeny tiny objects glistened like the sun itself in Algea's little paws. What WERE those? Not like he'd ever be able to do that... He couldn't fo underwater.
The fiery fuzzball slammed his face into the sand, covering his head with his paws.

Butterscotch open one eye to see who was on top of her Of corse Helios.>>
She reallt didn't like helios but she saw that he was having a hrad time looking at the water palui and not able to swim.
"Helios" she said as his face was in the sand.
"Don't worry about that dumb water palui i bet your 5 time the man he is and look you the fire ninja right... Sorry if i said it worng i have bad meriome.""You can out do him any time and look you don't have to put with him Narcassis dose.""I don't think he lived by Mt. Maui with doying but you can""Geez i can't even do that look how compared top him""I can swim to but can't lived by Mt. Maui you got 1 thing way over him" she said with a smile as she lay down next to him.

"It's wonderful Algea." He said rolling the pearl around for a moment and staring somewhat transfixed at the shiny object. Wincing slightly as he looked up the beach and spotted Helios and Butterscotch. "Algea...darling...Helios can't come play in the water." He said forcing a smile. To be honest he'd been hoping for a quiet soak in the water and then as it got darker hang around just under the trees until full darkness hit so he could head back home. Obviously...such thoughts were for naught. At the very least he'd gotten a pearl. Another shiny trinket to add to his growing collection.

Helios smiled at Butterscotch's attempt at cheering him up. "Thanks, Sunshine..." Helios muttered softly, lifting his head up slightly. "That really means alot to me..."
And then, Narcissis's irritated voice reminded him that he coulnd go play in the water with everyone else, and Helios sighed, but this time didn't sulk. In fact, he shot up instantaneously, and darted for his bag. "I AM going to swim! It's not CAN I, but HOW can I!" Helios yelled, determination practically oozing from his voice as he tore his tiny bundle open. The bag had a few simple pices of junk in it, and he dug through it until he found something useful.
I fireproof bra. He didn't know what it was, but did it matter? Helios squiggled and writhed until it was around his ears, like earmuffs. He looked kind of silly, but he didn't really mind. It was worth it. Smirking, the red furball darted quickly into the water, paddling as deep into it as he could before bobbing back up. "MUAHAHAHAHAHA -cough- HA!"
He was swimming! That is, unless it ripped.

"You really think so?!" He was soo happy to here from him.He try his harest not to lick him. Then he look at Helios and said "Come on baby, let get out of the water and go over to helios and that other palui!" Then he went under Narcassis and pick him up."Let go!"He walk over there and put Narcassis next to him."Hi helios and ugly thing! How are yall?" He Put down one the pearl and said "Here Helios you can have it!" He look over at the other palui."Do you want this?"

Butterscotch was a little baffle by how Helios just ran into the water without thinking. >.< "Wait Helios!Narcassis and the water palui are coming over her!" But it was to late he was are ready in the water.
