I have decided to make a thread to publically keep track of all things going on in the guild and what I am up to. I will make posts to this thread and update my posts with anything relevent that comes up.
Please do NOT spam in this thread or just chat. Only post if you have a relevent suggestion or comment that applies to what I have posted. Any spammy posts will be nuked and the poster warned.
I hope others find this thread to be helpful.

Current Gaia Guild Network Updates and Rumors Subforums for guilds?
badloki They've been released now! Yayness!
Sending mass PMs to members/Crew?
DARKNRGY ...this will require siginificant engineering time. Expect this feature October or even later.
What the hell is Crew Log and Captain Log? What's the difference?
DARKNRGY Crew logging shows deleted posts, deleted threads, and permission changes. The Captain log shows Guild name changes, and guild ownership changes. The crew log is for guild crew members to monitor each other's moderation activity. The Captain log is for Gaia moderators to trace activity in case their involvement is required in resolving a guild conflict.

I can see that the cleaning up is coming along nicely. Thanks Crew!
If you happen to be a person who has had your thread locked, please do NOT take offense. You are not in trouble, and we aren't upset with you. All we are doing is trying to clear out repeat/clutter threads. We want to direct more people to the appropriate sticky for many reasons:
1. To stop repeat/clutter threads from appearing.
2. Because many times your question has probably already been addressed.
3. You may find that there is already a WEALTH of info and advice already posted on the subject.
4. All intros need to be kept centralized, so new members can look in ONE thread and find out about all our other members.
There are many more reasons besides that, but those are a few of the major ones.
Please use stickies in the future when applicable, and enjoy the guild!

Seeing as how a subforum feature should be coming out soon, we may have a way to sort of "archive" older threads, and organize the stickies a bit better.
So everyone please hold tight, and soon we will be a muuuuch better organized guild.

Apparently the de-cluttering of this guild has ruffled some feathers, so I thought I would publically address this here for all to see. I just wanna make some things perfectly clear. ALL THREADS DEEMED AS REPEAT/CLUTTER ARE BEING LOCKED/DELETED. We are NOT singling anyone out. We are NOT playing favorites. I have handed down an order (for lack of better term) to my Crew to go through ALL pages of this guild and lock/delete certain threads. Threads that meet the following criteria are subject to deletion or locking:
Old, inactive threads Repeat threads Threads better addressed by one of our stickies Inflamatory/conflict causing threads ALL introduction threads outside of the intro sticky Old, old birthday greetings threads Spam threads
So, if your thread falls into any of these categories, then it will most likely be locked or deleted. Not because we don't like you, not because you've done anything wrong, but simply because we are trying to make things tidier and more clutter-free around here. This has been a long time coming. It was something I wanted to do before I went offline, but had to put on hold. Neither me, the Vice Captain, nor the Crew arbitrarily decided to spitefully do this. I decided it and discussed it with them and we agreed to doing it. We also all discussed and agreed to what constitues locking or deletion.
THIS De-CLUTTERING IS GOING TO BE DONE REGARDLESS. It is impossible for us to be able to please everyone all the time. But it has been brought to our attention several times that the guild is getting cluttered and that something needs to be done about it. So this is the solution we came up with. And it will be carried out.
PLEASE CONTACT US. If you feel that your thread was wrongly locked, then PLEASE contact me, the Vice Captain, or ANY of the Crew. Just politely make your case and we will discuss it with you. Anyone can do this. Just because we locked your thread, doesn't mean it's carved in stone. We can unlock your thread if we discuss it and come to that conclusion. If your thread is deleted though, then that's permanent. We have NO ABILITY to un-delete threads. Only Gaia mods may do that, and i don't even know if they can. But deletion usually only occurs of a thread broke a rule of Gaia or this guild.
AND FINALLY, WE ARE TRYING TO BE AS FAIR AND OBJECTIVE AS WE CAN. But we are only human. We try to run this guild fairly and to the best of our ability. Please do not think ill of my Crew for doing as requested. And, as always, PLEASE contact any of us anytime you have a problem. We are here to HELP. If you're not sure who to contact, I keep an updated list of the Captain, Vice Captain, and all Crew members here: ]http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=897
I hope this helps to clear some things up and allay bad feelings. If not, then PM me.

Just to let everyone know (at least those of you who actually read this thread), when sub-forums are released for the guilds, which should be soon, I will be doing some MASSIVE rearranging here in the guild.
No one knows yet how much these sub-forums will cost, or if there will be a limit on how many we can have, but hopefully I will be able to get at least 2 or 3. I also do not know what other kind of sub-forum specific features will be included, so there may be other changes as well.
But I just wanna warn everyone NOW that this will be happening, and there WILL be some changes when it occurs. So please prepare for it. I don't want anyone to be caught unawares when this happens, so you have all been given notice!
Also, the guild-wide "de-cluttering" goes hand-in-hand with the immenent release of guild sub-forums, so this will be continuing on as well.

Also, the guild-wide "de-cluttering" goes hand-in-hand with the immenent release of guild sub-forums, so this will be continuing on as well. Just wanted to re-emphasize this. Us Captains haven't been given another update on when sub forums will be released yet, but we're anticipating it to be VERY soon. It may even coincide with Gaia's downtime Lanzer has announced will happen tonight... or maybe not. In any event, please be aware that some MAJOR overhauling will happen once sub forums are released. Stickies/Announcements will change (some old ones may disappear - some new ones may appear). Some regular threads will be moved/locked/deleted, and massive updates will take place. But once it is all over, this guild will be WAY more streamlined and easier to use and post in. So, please do NOT be offended or upset when all these changes occur. I know a lot of y'all are used to the GPG being as it is now, but we have survived a MAJOR change before, and we'll do it again. I mean, we started out as one lonely little thread in the "Interest Based" sub forums of the Guilds forum. Then we blossomed into a million threads of our own in our own GGN guild. And now we will be able to harness the awesomeness of sub forums! I just remember that there was some friction before when we switched over to GGN and I just didn't want that to happen again. So don't say I didn't warn ya!
