Syrius Lionwing (Guppi) / Gumi (Kunye)
---------------------------------------------------------------

Kunye yawned widely as she walked, a bit of a mix of bored, and sleepy in general. She really hadn't slept too well last night, having gotten a little bit too excited over her new friend. But who could blame her? Really, he was her FIRST friend, not just a new one.

Speaking of Guppi, she had chosen to walk very close to him this time, instead of Afiya. She bumped into and brushed against him quite often as they went, trying to keep herself even and moving forward without any other real assistance.

She really hoped that it wasn't bothering him though. He wasn't exactly used to having anyone blind around him, judging by what he'd told her when they had first met.

-----

The young male lion walked with his head high, thos soft lilac colored eyes fixed upon the path ahead he was very pleased with the day befores happenings and here he was traveling beside Kunye, following her very large brother through the jungle. he had noticed quite early on that it got much lighter the closer to the edge they got. He was very much enjoying the extra sunlight and the company of Kunye.

Chuckling lightly as she yet again touched his shoulder, he leaned forwards and nudged at one of her ears. "You okay?" he smiled gallantly, "You can lean on me if you like. I really don't mind."

-----

The ear twitch back slightly at the nudge, before they both perked up to the sound of his voice. " I'm fine.. " She smiled as she tilted her head to him. " Just a bit worried when traveling through the jungle. There's so much to trip over, or run into here. "

She chuckled softly, shaking her head. " Out in the savanah, There's hardly anything to run into, and not much to trip over either. Not that that stops me from somehow managing to find those few things quite easily. " She winced at the mere memory of her clumsiness, especially ever since she began living alone.

-----

Guppi chuckled lightly, "You seem to do pretty well to me." he purred moving forwards to press his shoulder against hers, his nose lifting to touch her ear once again. "I can be your eyes, if you it would make you happy.2 He whispered, keeping his voice low enough to keep her brother from hearing. "I really, well i don't want to leave you Kunye, you've made me finally find the courage to leave."

He lowered his head a little his ears twitching nervously, he'd had a whole day and night to think about what he was saying, what he was actually asking the little cheetahress and he had picked now to see if she wished for him to be by her side, or not...

-----

Sightless eyes went wide in shock at his words, get mind not seeming to register them at first as she remained silent, head tilting towards him.

Was he... Did he really mean to stay with her for good? " If I.. If I become reliant on you.. It would be difficult for you to leave later on... And I do many clumsy things, like fall into rivers.. " She whispered back in warning. It worried her. He may like her now, but how long would it be before he would resent her for her blindness?

She had to be sure he knew what it was he was getting himself into.

-----

"I suppose it's a good thing I like to swim then huh?" he chuckled quietly licking her cheek in a gentle groom. "Anyone whom can get me to get my act together and get me out of that god forsaken place I called home, is worth a lifetime." He flickered his ears and nudged her ear gently "I want to stay with you, if you want me."

He looked forwards to the receding figure of her older brother and sighed. "But i understand if you wish to just return to your family."

-----

She smiled slowly, ducking her head in thought a few moments to go over all of the possibilities. Really, she wanted the lion to stay with her. Despite her worry, she was so happy that he wanted to.

Finally, she pressed against his side, leaning up to lick his cheek happily. " I'd like it if you stayed with me, Guppi... " She murmured out shyly, hoping Afiya wasn't close enough to listen in on their conversation. She would much rather put off conversations about this with her family until it was at a point where they couldn't try to run her lion off.

-----

Guppi's cheeks flushed a soft red which was clearly visible through his pale fur. The smile on his maw lengthened though, knowing she wanted him to stay with her. "I know you'll be able to show me so much. I've never even seen the savannah, you must know so much about it." he whispered puffing out his chest proudly.

"I'll be there to make sure you're okay, I promise." Glancing ahead he looked at Afiyas tail as it vanished through the thick greenery. While they were talking the trees had started to thin, it seemed that they were closing in to the place they had been traveling to. Sunlight dazzled his pale eyes as he followed the big cheetah out in to the open. the sun scorched along his face and he grinned. "Wow" He looked to Kunye "It's beautiful out here."

-----

She smiled brightly, trotting ahead out into the open area as she finally felt the sun beating down once again on her fur. The jungle had been so dark. She hadn't felt the sun on her at all while they were there!

Tail swishing out behind her playfully, she shifted down to slowly stretch out her body, enjoying the new warmth. " Mmm. The jungle was nice... But in the end, I really missed the open land. "

She turned when she felt her body loosen, making her way back over to Guppi carefully. " You like it? "

-----

The young lion gave a nod, looking out over the wide expanse of the open plains "yeah, it's amazing." he breathes taking a deep breath and sneezing away the dust which fluttered up his nostrils. "It's different from the jungle, very different." He turned his gaze once again to the moving shape of the large cheetah.

"Looks like we are going to that shadey place over there." He looked up quietly blinking at the bright sun. "I don't think I've ever seen he sun be so bright." he chuckled. "it's strange."

-----

Giggling again, she pressed back against his soft side, to follow along with him to wherever it was Afiya was leading them to. A shady place? Probably somewhere to rest. They had been traveling for quite a while, after all.

" There's nothing to stop it from shining through here. With all the trees in the jungle, it barely gets through at all. It felt so cold there most of the time. I guess because I'm so used to having the warm sun on me. " She said a bit thoughtfully.

-----

He had to agree with her, the sun out here was very hot, he was so used to the cool jungle with it's plentiful rains and constant shade. It was strange being so out int he open. Following Afiya to a small copse of prickly acacea trees the young lion smiled and stretched out his youthful frame. He was glad to be in the shade, even with his pale coat he felt rather hot out on the dusty savannah. It was a new experience, one he was glad of.

-----

Once they were into the shade, the girl dropped to the ground, happy to stretch her body out and relax there awhile. Her feet could really do with the rest. " Guppi? " She asked curiously, head tilted down since she wasn't entirely sure which direction he was from her.

" Wont you miss your family, traveling so far away from them? Planning to stay so far away.. " She murmured the last part to atleast try to keep Afiya from overhearing.

-----

Laying down next to the cheetahress so she could feel his body, the warmth that radiated off him and so thats he would know where he was he licked her ears and shook his head. "No, I don't want to be there, i need to find my own way in life and it certainly isn't in that pride. I want to be able to be my own person, and with you, i know I can be that."

Smiling he rested his head upon his paws watching the large cheetah lay down a short distance away from them. Clearly Afiya realized they wanted to be alone with their own conversations, he silently promised to thank the big cheetah for the time later.

-----

She smiled brightly at that, slowly nuzzling into his soft side, resting her own head against his back. " You're very comfortable.. " She purred out contently, eyes sliding shut.

Her tail swished back and forth a moment, before pulling in to curl around him as well. " My family.. They may not be too happy at first... But if they see I'm happy, I cant imagine they would object... " She said thoughtfully. Even if her mother feared lions, she would probably accept one that was good to her daughter. Probably... In the end, Kunye still worried, despite the confidance she spoke in.

-----

Guppi chuckled lightly. "They'll have to get used to me, cause I'm not leavin'" he yawned closing his pale eyed gaze as he curled up wrapping his own tufted tail around the slender cheetahress.

"You'll see, everything will be fine, i just know it." He whispers letting out one final slow tired sigh as he allowed sleep to pull his mind away in to dream land.

-----

" I hope so... " She murmured against him, listening to his heartbeat slow slightly, and his breathing even out in sleep, before she too drifted off, curled into his warm, soft fur.
